The issue I see with the incarnate stuff is that there isn't enough to do to effectively earn salvage and threads and what not, but as they add more they thin the people doing mass group content out. If they add a few more incarnate trials then some servers will be spread too thin, but if they don't more and more people (who don't farm for pleasure) will burn out. If they could manage cross server instances with the group finder they could flood the system with incarnate trials...

Quote:It's already been stated but if you have enough invested that what you like about the game is now covered by your tier then going premium might make more sense for you. There is no reason to stay VIP if the extra perks don't suit you. Go premium and buy points when something hits the store you want. That's the point of Freedom, you pay for what you value and keep on playing.Since you are one of the only people to actually address the point of the topic, I'll respond even though you may not be actually trying to make a point. I can't tell.
Firstly, it's a question. A valid response would be an answer to the question. It can be a business reason, an ethical reason I suppose, a fairness between parties reason, etc. No one has one as far as I can tell. They will defend the devs no matter what, and using things like what VIPs get that premiums don't, but that just doesn't answer the question.
Is this game really more valuable than other subscription based games that in order to get everything it should cost more than 15 a month? It's a different question admittedly, but I imagine the answer has to be yes to this in order to justify the current system. -

Quote:It seems everything is a competition to Another Fan. And if it's not about "skills" then he's being cheated. It's a shame you can't pay to win on the forums, since you seem to think there's a competition here.
I don't know what game he's playing but I've been running +2 level content with my five year old with no issue. So my normal team is a scrapper build based on what looks cool with fire backed with a play style of "look bad guys lets push random numbers!" and a mostly illiterate five year old on a Brute. This is done with almost no deaths (sometimes my son runs into too many mobs) and little down time (except for when I get lost). Since we push through EBs and AVs with little hassle I can only assume AFs dependency on carefully calculated builds is somehow related to a severely handicapped play style. -
Quote:on a scale of 1-10 10 being the biggest jerk possibleWas running the Dr Kane tf for the 4th(?) time. First time through just took it as it comes and had fun. Decided I'd like to run another character through it so second time I joined up in a different team and had fun. Thought it might be fun to have the other badges for it and knew that one had to do with wearing a costume so made sure to get the random rewards to get a costume. Some roster changes and now was teamed with someone who seemed/purported to know how to get the zombie badge. Rather than slogging through the zombies in the house he suggested we should just run past them all to the end as it was otherwise just a waste of time. I did not have a particular problem with this. We run through the second part to the end and avoid all the "grind" in between. I did not have a particular problem with this.
We get to the graveyard and he says, "I'll tank the big guy, the rest of you just run around over the graves and drag the zombies back to me, I'll deal with them." I did not have a particular problem with this. Had NO idea what his plan really was but he seemed to be confident in what was needed and said nothing more than that.
So the three members of the team which were not him proceeded to run about doing not much and dying repeatedly doing it, while he appears to do handily tanking. So, I had a very slight problem with this. The game is long and I'm willing to put in the hours now and again. Debt is just NOT that big a deal. I frequently half-joke that debt is just another badge. But it needs to be for a REASON; if I'm enjoying myself I don't necessarily care that I have to die repeatedly to beat a tough mission or get through a task force or win that badge just for the sake of having the badge.
But then he starts in saying, "Faster! You/we have to do this faster!" I didn't really know what was supposed to be done faster but obviously for all the running about like a chicken with it's head cut off the total # of zombies defeated wasn't climbing very fast. I've been having a blast with my plant/poison controller in everything I've done in the game - right up to this point. I'm feeling quite ineffective at not being able to meaningfully contribute much to progress toward this badge and I'm dying repeatedly from the big monsters whatever-attacks when I try to lead zombies to our tank as was requested/suggested. The other two non-tanks are, I see, doing the death cycle as much or more than I and saying nothing. And the tank is just repeating, "Faster. Gotta do this faster."
NOW I'm having a problem because I've rapidly become frustrated and it's quite clear that nothing we're doing is making headway. I stop running around and state point blank, "Look, I got to admit I just don't know how it is we're supposed to be getting this badge." The response back from our tank sums up as, "You're not supposed to. You're all terrible for this because you suck at DPS. -LOL-"
Something about that was just the wrong attitude. I should have stopped him before we even started and asked, "Okay, what is your SPECIFIC plan to get this badge? What is it that we need to do and why?" But I didn't. It was clear that I wasn't going to get that information now and the whole effort just seemed a pointless waste of my time to proceed any further. There just didn't seem to be anything to discuss further so I said nothing. I just quit the team and logged.
I felt bad for the two others on the team now faced with this tedious impossible mission and a man short, but I was just so suddenly ticked off at the whole situation. It's been a LONG time since I rage-quit a team in COH. I've got my 7 years in so I've been in a LOT of PUGs and stuck it out through a LOT of seriously juvenile crap being perpetrated by others doing just what I did.
I guess if I have a question it would be just how much of a jerk WAS I?

Has anyone yet pointed out that since people who play a monthly fee get points the only thing buying power off of the market does is give you a time advantage. The only people put out by the market are the free players.

Quote:I'm not worried. The weirdness of the issue reminds me of features that leaked to live in the past. I'm going to classify it as an early design change until such time as it is finished being reviewed. We are well aware that players have requested functionality such as this, and that will be/has been communicated.
This is still, AFAIK, not working as intended. If someone decides to leave it alone and deems it to be working as intended (surprise feature!) then we will, of course, clarify this.
For now, it is our responsibility to report it. -

Quote:Man you have to hate raids a lot to get burned out on em six months before they are released.Welcome back, Progressman.
In referencing those "end raids," I can only assume you are referring to the Incarnate Trials. If that's the case, you've actually only been gone six months (since those were released early April), but I TOTALLY understand the burnout (having suffered a bit of it myself after i20 went live).
If you are referencing a different end raid (i.e. Hamidon, Mothership, etc.), and you quit because the grind got too boring well... I hope you like the new 1-50 content! Because the Incarnate Trials are pretty grind-y themselves. Though, with 4 trials released (and a 5th in the not-too-distant future), there is at least a growing variety of which trials you want to grind... -
Quote:For 40 PP points you can get a spoon to clean out that sand.I make it a habit of not playing can you punch the softest, joining the bush of the month club or engaging in other activities that you win by damaging yourself.
Perhaps you can PM positron or Clockwork01/Beaststyle and ask them If you can get an easy to use temp power with limited charges that will wipe out the map and make the screen have some sort of large explosion when you use it, and simultaneously wiping out all the mobs on the map. The end screen of missile command comes to mind.
Maybe they could provide you a credit card terminal so you wouldn't have the overhead of using paragon market for this function.
I don't know about you but to me the insult is purchasing a video game, and multiple expansions for it and then being nickle and dimed to death for the top gear, and having idiots say this is additional content.
You must be a very sad little person. I enjoy a game and dislike seeing it prostituted out as the people who make it sell out everything the game is about. -

If they give us a player option I also think the easiest way would to just make animal furs. But I hope they have separate option still so we can make mix matched animals.
Or make a shape shift set where PC lets you spruce up the animal forms. -
