  1. I always assumed it was part of the AE-nerf to prevent ticket farming.
  2. How is your object count throughout the base. There is a limit of 20k and i believe people can start to notice lag on slower computers when objects go above 14k (made up number, since i don't have the actual source, but i've read it was somewhere around that number iirc). Seeing your latest screenshot with all the vents, i could imagine you are closing in on that number.

    Btw is the lag online noticable when you are in editor mode, or also when you enter the base as a visitor?

    *Edit*
    Now i've read your entire post and my last question is irrelevant.
    Someone told me that everytime you place an item, every object in your field of view gets redrawn. If you are facing towards an area of the base that has lots of items, you get lag. Try facing downwards a bit more to see if that helps.
  3. Indeed, what Cathulhu said.

    Veteran rewards are personal, and can only be added when you unlocked them. You can however replace placed items. So if your base has a lot of them, my advise is to move them all into one room, and add them to the new rooms where you want.
    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Vetera...rds_Base_Items

    Stuff that's unlocked by badges, like the teleporters and the biggest control and energy items are available too all once the sg unlocked them.

    Slow Fields

    The wiki (linked above) provides both your answers. When you scroll down and click on either of the room types (next to "base rooms"), you will see which rooms hold defensive items and how many.

    Also:
    "Hidden Base Plots have greater limitations on the number of Energy, Control, and Battery Base Items allowed than Secure Base Plots"

    So in other words. The amount of defense items, isn't affected.
  5. Oh my... that's embarrassing Sorry for not noticing.
    It looks much different now
  6. First of all, thanks for taking the time to have a look at my build.

    @Hindenburg,
    When i compare both builds in mids, i see very little differences. Which is good, because my own build is pretty nice as it is already.

    I'm not sure if the gain in hp is worth the loss in regeneration. The gain in endurance i'm not sure about either, since i never run out of endurance (it has been a long time since i last played the blaster though, so not entirely sure).

    Travel comes secondary to dealing damage imo. So i don't see any need for 2-slotting the fly power with 2 BotZ's, unless it's only for the added defense.

    Stun resistance could be nice, although i never get stunned. I'm not sure about power boost, since it only boosts secondary effects.

    @NecroOmNomNomicon,
    When i compare your build to mine in Mid's, it feels like a downgrade on a lot of aspects. It does add to haste, but i'm not sure if it's needed. I can cycle through quite a lot of ranged powers already, and i don't recall ever running out of firepower. It also adds to accuracy, but it loses tohit (from 61,1% to 0%) and damage (174% to 3%). It doesn't feel like i will be dealing a lot of damage.

    Does LRM Rocket really make that much of a difference to deal with previous mentioned losses?
  7. Nice start!
    I see you already got the hang of raising and lowering objects. My advise is to mess with the possibilities and ideas first. My experience is that after a while you will probably want to change stuff, because you learned to do new stuff, and the old stuff simply won't cut it anymore (i restarted building my base 3 times before i got something i really liked).

    Also make sure to join the BaseBuildersInc. channel and visit as many bases as you can. I'm sure a lot of people in there are willing to help you out if you have questions.

    good luck!
  8. This blaster is my very first toon. It started out as a fire/energy/fire blaster, but i used up my second build to turn it into a fire/energy/electric blaster.

    The current strength of this blaster is that it can stay far away from all the action, while dealing very nice damage.
    The weakness is that it has rarely used powers (like em pulse and surge of power), and has unneeded slots/enhancements.

    Here i ask you to help me make this the best build possible. I don't want it to be a blapper, i want it to be ranged, like blasters are intended to be.

    If possible i'd like to have a rather cheap (max 1.5 billion) build and if it makes a difference, the best build possible where money is no concern.

    I have spare respecs, so moving around slots and/or powers is not a problem.

  9. The new options work like this:
    1. Place an object somewhere on the floor.
    2. After placing select the object with your left mouse-button, and hold.
    3. Now you can hold "shift" and move your mouse up or down, to move the object up or down.
    4. If you hold "alt" and move your mouse left, right, up or down, you will rotate the object with small intervals (much smaller than rotating with the right mouse button).
  10. I believe the doorways are used as spawnpoints for baseraids. So i think they won't change this, unless they remove the baseraid option.

    If they did change it so that you can add stuff to doorways, same as you can to rooms, then the looks of a base will change drastically, and it would be incredibly awesome.
  11. I have 2 brutes myself, both are great on a team and solo.

    Super Strength / Fiery Aura
    - Lots of damage
    - Has Rise of the Phoenix so it can selfrez

    Claws / Willpower
    - Nearly unkillable due to all the health and endurance regeneration

    I don't think you can really go wrong with a brute, but above two sets are the only ones i can speak of with personal experience.
  12. LA-384

    Build - SS/FA

    I found the original build on the forum. Don't recall who made it, but the character was called "brootfarm". I only made a few tiny tweaks, so most of the credits should go to the person who came up with Brootfarm;

    * Perma hasten
    * 4 AoE attacks which can be cycled almost permanently
    * 3 devastating ST attacks
    * With the cardiac alpha, end-drain is very managable. With consume, you are unable to run out of endurance
    * Vengeance makes up for the lack of defense, and is permanent if you have a body at hand
    * The 5 LotG's are the most expensive part of this build. All in all i believe it costs only slightly more than 1 billion influence.

  13. Do you mean that it takes a bit of time, but continues afterwards? Or does it crash to the main log-in menu?

    Does this issue only happen when you try logging into a sg-base? or also when you try going to a different zone?

    I had a similar issue before. I couldn't leave atlas park without the game freezing and crashing to the log-in screen. I also couldn't log on toons which were parked in other areas than atlas park.

    After a lot of trial and error i found that the problem was caused by my router. When i disconnected the router and connected straight to my internet modem, i didn't have this problem.
  14. There's already sals badgehunters for tf/sf, trials and the occasional tip-mission or mission-arc.
  15. Thanks for the advise. I guess i'll just have to try rotating it, and if that doesn't work, i'll just have to live with it
  16. After today's small maintenance, me and several others, if not everyone, are experiencing extreme lag issues upon entering the sg base. It seems the ping goes up from around 200 in atlas park to as much as 1700 while in sg base.

    Is this something caused by the maintenance or is it just a coincidence?
  17. A few days ago i stumbled upon a youtube video about someone who made a club inside his sg base. I was like How is that possible!?

    I then found another youtube video made by Stacker, who explained the wonders of stacking.

    I decided to give it a go, and learn more while doing it. After creating things and come up with ideas for about 2 days, i managed to make my own club area. I'm pretty pleased with it, but i think there could still be much improvement.

    One thing i came across is clipping/z-fighting. It seems to be pretty random. I've searched the forum and googled it, but so far i haven't found any solution. Is there even a solution? or is it just a matter of not having things overlapping each other? I've read that clipping could have a huge performance effect on pc's. Does this also count for hidden clipping? The walls of the building i'm showing below are made of two cabinets that are overlapping each other so the inside and outside wall have the same texture. Basically there is clipping on the topside of every cabinet but this is not visible because it goes all the way to the ceiling.

    Is there a place where i could find tutorials on base building? And i mean something else than the basics of what a workshop is. I've seen some pictures in the thread at the top of this page, and i have simply no idea how people managed to do certain things.
  18. Seeing how i've never participated in a hamidon raid before, i'd like to join one this time. I have two finished support characters available;
    A fire/energy/electric blaster, or a ss/fire/mu brute.
    Depending on wether you need more aoe or st damage.

    Also have a katana/electric/body mastery scrapper available, but she's only good when someone has endurance buffs.

    The blaster and the brute are levelshifted, the scrapper has only tier 1 alpha.

    Need Brute Build

    I have this fire brute setup i found somewhere on these forums. It's insanely good and as far as i can tell it's pretty much perfect in any way.

    At lvl 50, it can easily deal with +/- 100 enemies 4 levels above yours, including bosses. It has perma-hasten, perma-rage (90% of the time it has double rage), no endurance issues and deals a tonne of damage. If things really do go bad and you die, you'll have rise of the phoenix to give you a second try.

    I lost the mids build, but it's somewhere on these forums.

    Oh and it only costed me about 1.5-2billion in total.

    Awesome. i'll be looking forward to this guide
  21. Hm seems like switching to 10.9 has no effect. Thanks for your suggestion though.

    I tried someplace else, but it seems like Atlas Park is the only location that actually works. 3 toons are stuck now. One in Ouroboros, one in Kings Row and one in Galaxy City. I'm not gonna try any more toons.

    Maybe i should re-install the game?
  22. I'll see if i can get a hold of 10.9. Not sure if it'll work, since 10.7 also gave the error.

    Now a different toon of mine is stuck in kings row :/ Also mapserver problem.
  23. Hi all,

    Yesterday i tried to log in to one of my toons who was parked at Ouroboros, only to experience freezing and eventually the pretty known "No MapServer connection" error. I tried my other characters who were all parked in Atlas Park, and i could log on those without any problems.

    I figured it must've been a temporary issue, so i tried again today. To my surprise i experienced the same issues as the day before; not being able to log on the Ouroboros toon, while the others worked fine.

    Since i was using a pretty old ATI driver (10.7) i decided to update that one first (to 11.2). But that didn't solve the problem either.

    I've searched the forums a bit about the mapserver error, but it seems like most people experience this while accessing a mission map. Even though their issues are not exactly the same i tried some of the proposed solutions;
    - Turn volume down to 0
    - Disable anti-virus software
    - Disable firewall
    - Disable geometry *something* option

    All without success.

    I am a bit sad, since i started playing the game somewhere during last christmas, and this was my first (and only) toon, which i worked up to level 50.

    Last thing i remember is that i was doing some mender Ramiel's missions. It was the misison where you go after Trapdoor. I died in that mission so i respawned at the Ouroboros hospital and quit right after that.

    Is this some error that comes and goes without any explanation?
    Am i ever going to be able to play this toon?
    Are there any other solutions?
