  1. There are apparently a bunch of CoH players gathering on Lumiel, which also happens to be the unofficial US RP Server(not sure where you got Yustiel from). Per this thread, it looks like most of us are rolling Elyos on Lumiel and Asmo on Israphel.

I haven't done one of those stories yet. A situation where it would be a good idea hasn't come up, and I'm not inclined to go looking for one.
And doing it too much in a group setting (like a supergroup) can destroy any meaningful significance of it. It's real sad if one guy dies. It's just ridiculous if people start dropping like flies.
  3. I used the dummies all the time on test, and I found something odd: it seemed like whenever I logged someone out in that room, then later I logged back in(later being at least 5-10 minutes, however long it takes for the server to recognize that I'm actually offline), the dummies would be gone. I wasn't sure if the dummies being gone was a direct result of me logging in right next to them or not, but it seemed that way to me.

When I came back the next day (after logging out somewhere else) they'd be back, but I'm not sure how long it takes for them to respawn.
  4. Out of curiosity, what wall type did you use for your black space-wall?
  5. I used to use a program called XPadder, I remembered you could assign an analog stick to mouse function, or assign a certain button to press to switch one to mouse function. For instance when I used my 360 controller, I had the left analog stick set for normal character movement, but if I held a certain button down that made the left stick move my mouse instead. Then when I let go of that button, it switched back to character movement. It also let you assign certain buttons to mouse clicks.

Not sure where I got it, but you can probably find it on Google.

    Itf wtf

"Fixing" the mission by removing some of the spawns would at least be a good first step. Something I've noticed is that the lag gets worse when the ambushes spawn after you've crossed the bridge and taken out the second General. So here's an idea I had: Make it so the ambushes aren't newly-spawned, but come from another part of the map, where they were already spawned.

They already have tech similar to this in the Croatoa mission involving the 30 Fir Bolg. Those groups that try to run into the altar aren't newly spawned, they're all groups that have already spawned in the mission. A timer(or something) goes through and tells the groups one-by-one that now is the time to make a run for the altar. You can see this for yourself if you venture out away from the altar; you can catch a group milling around for a moment before suddenly turning and taking off for the woods.

So could they make it so the various patrols that roam the Cimeroran hills in that mission function in a similar manner, that when you trigger the ambushes, it causes them to start running in your direction?

    tailor in base?

The AE Accolade power that lets you use the mission editor anywhere used to be usable in the base.

I used it to access the costume maker(via editing/creating custom characters) as a way of playing with the tailor in the base. If I made something I like, I could save the costume and load it up next time I'm at an Icon.

But it doesn't work anymore. Don't know why. It makes me sad.

Same problem with the "Go to newest post" arrow, it always just takes me to the OP.
Yes, I'm having this problem and I think there are a few threads about it in Technical Issues. As far as I can tell, it's not updating the "Last Visited" attribute every time you log in. For instance, I've browsed the boards several times today, but according to that little box in the upper right corner the last time I visited was 6:01am this morning.
  9. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Santorican for his unexpectedly hilarious sig image.
  10. I was about to say that I'd give money to play a fantasy game that used CoH's mechanics, but then I realized that thanks to the AE, I don't have to.

Time to start looking up medieval/fantasy themed arcs...

I've been looking for a good cleaner recently, and that second one is pretty awesome. Thanks for posting it!
  12. An homage to a Captain America villain?
  13. Awesome, I've been using the skin you posted in the feedback thread, but this is even better.

    Have a couple of questions/requests:

There's a gradient image behind post boxes in the background(goes from red to black on the villain skin). Is there a way to get rid of that so the background is just one solid color?

And is there a way to get rid of the empty space between posts, and/or make the empty margins on the sides of the posts smaller/nonexistant?
  14. Make sure you're using boards.cityofheroes.com and not cityofvillains. You can set the theme to villains after you log in, it should stay that way from then on. The cityofvillains.com portal seems to have issues.

People were able to have animated avatars on the old boards. That's nothing new.

    I16 and MA

An edit/quickening of the Assassin's Strike from the Stalker MA set might do for a Crane Kick alternate.
  17. I dislike that I have to click on someone's post before I can write a Quick Reply. Doesn't seem to be that quick if I have to click reply first anyway...

It'd be nice to have an option to expand the "English" section by default.

    Borders around Avatars are ugly.

I don't mind the look of the boards, currently using Villain skin.

I don't mind images in posts and signatures as long as they're limited by size. However, it might be better to have the image options disabled by default, and let those who want to see the images enable them.

I dislike that links aren't colored differently.

I dislike that I have to use the same password as my game login.

Dev and Community Digests are borked and need to be fixed.

I dislike that there's no "Preview" option when posting.

    Comic Con Panel

I like what I'm seeing of Super Strength, especially the ground pound Footstomp replacement.

Martial Arts(which I was looking forward to even more than SS) I'm a little less enthused about, especially the Eagle's Claw replacement as others have mentioned.

But as promised, I now love you forever, Zek.

I would love you forever if you got those and the new MA stuff on film, too.
  20. They could shave off part of the animation at the beginning and end for Flurry and still keep the same number of punches. At the beginning, the character takes a moment to get into "Flurry mode" before he starts throwing his fists, and at the end there's another little pause after the final "uppercut" punch. Neither of these little moments of inaction make sense for a power that's supposed to be super-speedy. I'm not sure how much animation time shaving off those two parts would save, but anything's better than nothing.

Ahh. I knew I left something out. The Bright color grid doesn't have black as a color choice; the Dark color grid does. Bruce Harlick said that black didn't work well as an additive color choice. The way the grids are laid out, the Bright color set takes each color from full-saturated color through a very pale tint of that color plus the two colors on the extreme right of the costume color grid, while the Dark colors have the shades that are down on the left edge of the color grid. So for Red in the Bright palette, you can go from white to a saturated red, while in the Dark palette, you can go from a dark red to an almost-black red shade.

It sounds like the bright colors might be designed to range from maximum color intensity to zero intensity with transparent alpha, and the dark colors might be designed to range from maximum color intensity to opaque black. It'll certainly be interesting to play with once it goes live (or goes test as the case may be).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, that's the way it sounds to me now, too. Guess I was wrong earlier... This makes more sense, though, and I can see why they would do it this way.
  22. Also keep in mind that Combat Jumping compliments Hurdle quite nicely. It adds air-control which means getting up to top speed faster and making it so turning doesn't slow you down. It can also be useful for letting you "slide up" a lot of inclines. Plus it gives a little bit of defense which is always nice for an /SR.
  23. It sounds as if picking "Bright" will make the particle illuminated, and picking "Dark" will make it uh.. whatever the opposite of that is. Darkened, I guess. And Default just defaults to whatever the default setting for that particular power/set is... Default.

It sounds to me like if you wanted to make a power effect as invisible as possible, picking Dark - Black would be your best bet. If you wanted to make a power as visible and cornea-burning as possible, picking Bright - Hot Pink would be your best bet.

Or I could be completely wrong.
  24. The click protections also use less EPS, don't they?
  25. Natural: Holsters, quivers, sheathes. Might be nice to have some some more cowboy options(vest/shirt, chaps, boots with spurs) considering the upcoming Pistols set. Perhaps adding a bunch more weapon options to all sets.

And of course, walking. (Yes I know it was probably a joke. But I can dream...)

Mutation: More monstrous heads, tails, and legs? I'm not sure what else.
