  1. Maybe it's just a big homage to Watchmen.

    -SPOILERS-

The volcano story is just a cover-up. Someone with immense magical power didn't like the way that the Rogue Isles were being run. So he summoned a gigantic psychic monster in the heart of the Rogue Isles and off'd just about everyone, creating a mass outpouring of global aid that turned the Rogue Isles around.

The people that knew the truth realized that for the greater good of the world they would have to cover up the truth, so they created the rudiments of the PTS and summoned Bat'Zul under Mt. Diable to complete the story of a volcanic eruption causing the shambles of the Rogue Isles in 1883.

Of course many wouldn't believe such a story, especially those who survived the Psychic Holocaust, so other little 'hints' were spread throughout the Rogue Isles as time went on. Including the 'Eye of Horus' oil spill; a prolific magical symbol, But one with no other meaning than to distract from the truth of what happened on the Rogue Isles in 1883.

    That is all.

That said, you mean the target has to be on the ground for the power to be effective? Thematically, I can agree, but... Why, they, does Tremor activate on targets in the air? I mean it's a power that causes the ground to shake, how am I doing that to a flying Goldbricker 10 feet up into clear airspace? and just how am I sending a crack in the ground up into the air?

    [/ QUOTE ]

No, he's saying the power won't activate because the game's 'Target In The Air' check is covering targets that aren't truly in the air. Making the powers unusable.
  3. Oh, hahaha, that makes more sense!

Well, if it were me I'd take the slot out of Tough and put it in Quick Recovery. Adding another IO from that set gets you 3.65 End/Sec which will help a lot when you start attacking, especially since you'll be burning 1.31 End/Sec without Super Speed on, and 1.77 End/Sec if you plan to always have it on.

    But that's just me.
  4. My main character and likeness is a Fire/Fire Blaster and I've always loved him for his ability to do insane amounts of damage consistently. For the longest time I just couldn't get into any other character type because let's be honest, no other type can really do such insane amounts of damage without relying on anything else.

When I decided to give Scrappers a shot BillZ recommended Claws/SR and after seeing a couple of his videos I decided it'd be right up my alley. I haven't regretted that choice since.
  5. So...Take everything from your secondary but Elude. : )
  6. [ QUOTE ]
SR? Take everything. You won't regret it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    This.

Minus maybe Elude. Once you're running at the soft cap Elude is kind of superfluous in my opinion.
  7. Ok, and what sets are you deciding between for either the 8% Regeneration or the 2.6% Resistance? I can't find any of your sets that give either of those bonuses...
  8. I'd think 2.6% more Resistance is so miniscule it wouldn't be worth it. I'd take the 8% Regeneration rate boost over that. That's just counting the bonuses though. What power? What sets?

    DB/SR Critique

Here is my shot at your build style. This combo is actually something I've been contemplating for awhile so you'll have to let me know how it plays.

Anywho, I think I avoided breaking the rule of five on any of the bonuses, but if you see something let me know and I'll try and fix it.

Upsides: This build gets 335% Regeneration, 177% Recovery, burns .95 End/Sec with all the toggles running, has 60% Recharge, and 46% defense to the three positional defenses. It has all the attacks, the fighting pool, teleport, and the fitness pool. I dropped the Concealment pool but you still can stealth with the Stealth IO in Sprint (Which in my experience is good enough).

Downsides: Your scaling resistances will come later than normal (Level 41 is when you'll get Agile with this build), and your resistance in general is nearly non-existant so you'll have to take a "Kill them first" style. Weave isn't taken until level 49 and therefore isn't slotted until 50 (But you should be ok with 40% defense until that point).

Anywho, enough of my gabbing, here's the build:

    Respec to Fortunata

    [/ QUOTE ]

No offense Silver, but worst kind of post ever. Oh and happy birthday!

To the OP, I've heard the DPS argument go both ways, I would think that the primary focus going from S/L to Psi would be the main reasoning for the switch to Fortunata.

Since Night Widows have an easier time hitting both the soft-cap and perma-Mind Link goals I would think Night Widows would be better suited for AV soloing. Someone will have to cast some more light onto that one.

What I'd try is using the Dual Builds feature and have your second build be a Fort if you haven't used it already. I think that'd be the best way to test things.
  15. Wow, you got to name it? Thanks for the info, I'll be sure to remember that.
  16. [ QUOTE ]
Currently, the amount of total recharge time for DP is only 128.6 seconds with Hasten completely turned off. As in, never having been on at all.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep, that's what I said in the last post too, 8.6s off of perma without Hasten ever existing.

    [ QUOTE ]
Assuming that Hasten would be running for almost 90% of the time and consequently reducing the recharge time for DP every second that it is up, it should easily bring DP into perma status (barring -recharge attacks).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I don't think that recharge works that way, Dull Pain is only getting the Recharge Bonus that makes it perma when Hasten is running. The game should stop providing Dull Pain the effect the second Hasten turns off, you may have to test to prove or disprove that, but that's how it should work.
  17. Let me start by saying welcome back to game, I hope you enjoy your stay with us!

That said the first thing I noticed when opening your build is that Hasten is not perma, which translates to Dull Pain not being perma. While Hasten is up the +Recharge it provides brings it's recharge to 128s with an up time of 120s; however, since there is an eight second gap in those numbers the +Recharge will wear off before Hasten will trigger again. that leaves you with these numbers for Hasten and Dull Pain:

    Hasten - Uptime: 120s, Downtime: 159.8s
    Dull Pain - Uptime: 120s, Downtime: 128.6s

Somehow you need to find a way to snag another 8 seconds worth of recharge to keep Hasten, and Dull Pain perma.

In fiddling around with the build I really can't get Hasten perma without losing your 722% Regeneration rate. So while I don't agree with Ryu on the idea of just making a Willpower character you can't easily get to the old levels of /Regen. Sorry.
  18. I hear my Claws/SR will at least be able to handle PvP so I'd be in.
  19. Wow, 4 minutes late, I'm a slow typer :P

So far I am not impressed, this TF/SF better be dang good for this many issues just to get on the server.

  23. This is more than slightly annoying, especially since they told us to wipe all our toons off not too long ago. Now we can't put ones up? What gives?
  24. Any word on the Character Copy tool? Is it moving extra slow due to people posting a lot or is it busted again?
