You can flashback to all 4 (2 red, 2 blue) I17 story arcs GP.

I'd like to see the Order of the Crimson Lotus brought in as an NPC group. To the best of my knowledge the only place they are mentioned is in Infernal's backstory. This would be the perfect group to build around the new Demon Summoning powerset. Looking at Infernal's Paragon Wiki entry they've already got a ready made AV:
Quote:For a storyline hook you could have Valmez firmly in control of the T'Keron/Valmez union but they can appear to look like T'Keron. The fusion returns to Infernal Earth and convinces the Order of the Crimson Lotus that Infernal was the one that fused with Valmez and has taken over and tainted Primal Earth. In order to fight Infernal's "demon controlled" allies on Primal Earth T'Keron/Valmez teaches the Order new spells to bind more powerful demons to their weapons and armor. In reality the new spells allow the demons to take over and control the binders. With a corrupted, demon possesed Order at his back T'Keron/Valmez conquers Infernal Earth and then sets his sights on Primal Earth. Or better yet the Shadow Shard, if the CoT can bind Faathim then I'm betting the Order could bind aspects of Rularuu as well.A master of demon binding and summoning from another dimension, Infernal's boundless willpower allows him to control the many fiends he has forced into his service. As a member of the Vindicators, he often assists Numina of the Freedom Phalanx.
K'Varr D'Shall was the most skilled demon binder in the Order of the Crimson Lotus on an alternate Earth. His order bound demons into their weapons and armor, in order to keep Infernal Earth from being overrun by them. They were maintaining and uneasy peace until K'Varr's best friend T'Keron grew jealous of his comrade's power and skill. T'Keron attempted to bind Valmaz, Lord of Demons, but lost control of the ceremony. K'Varr arrived to help his friend, but it was too late. K'Varr, T'Keron, and Valmaz were all drawn through a dimensional rip caused by the binding ceremony onto Primal Earth, our Earth. T'Keron and the Demon Lord were bound together by the potent mystic forces.
The ways of our world are strange to K'Varr but Numina is assisting him in becoming acclimated and beginning his search for the unholy fusion of T'Keron and Valmaz. -
Quote:That's not a bad idea and I'll heartly agree with the rest of your suggestions and add one as well. All contacts should give out their phone number and access to all types of inpirations after you complete their first mission. All types of contacs, even TF/SF contacts (and especially Faathim.)I actually think we might do well with a map and train training section in the tutorial. It seems a lot of newer players don't seem to know how to use the map. I still get odd questions for returning players, like "Hey, is Crey's Folly off Brickstown or Founders' Falls?" The City Map tells you exactly that, but few players seem to know it even exists. Not many new players know about the train, either. I was introduced to it by a team-mate back in the day.
How about, instead of Coyote "teleporting" us to Atlas Park or Galaxy City, he directed us to the station so we could take a train there? -
The Nameless Mystic
"The Nameless Mystic is an interdimensional being who feeds off the energy kicked off by the dreaded Lanaruu."
This guy hangs out in the most dangerous part of the Shadow Shard and feeds of energy produced by a mad demi-god, you could really go places with that kind of story hook.
Also Frostfire and Atta, put them both in the RWZ as story arc "helper" NPCs. For a reduced prison sentence they volunteered to fight the Rikti. I imagine you could do this with several other early villains that have been arrested in game. -
Quote:Here's an idea for a demon summoner that uses mainly white and gold. A fallen angel or servant of a dark god that binds demons to his will. That could be interesting...
I just meant those two colors combined are so predominantly used for demons it's funny...
almost like there is a default setting that everyone is using but no one admits to.
5 out of 6 pics in this thread so far are red/black.

If I'm going to dare to dream about CoH2 then I'm going to dare to dream big and I dream about full power customization where power animations are seperate from power effects. For example if you chose Flares from the Fire Blast powerset you would have a host of animation options. Do you:
- raise both hands and throw fireballs
- throw a fireball like a baseball
- lob a fireball like ball lightning's animation
- shoot a blast of fire from your palm(s)/fist(s)/chest/mouth
- fire a laser beam from you eyes/ring(s)/palm(s)/ray pistol(s)/ray rifle
- shoot incediary rounds from your pistol(s)/rifle/shoulder mounted gatling gun
- shoot a flaming arrow from you hand crossbow(s)/ crossbow/longbow
- throw a fireball from you staff/rod/wand/melee weapon(s)

Quote:And you wonder why I just show up with my puppy dog eyes rather than signing up.Shamster, what have I told you about being the first to post interest for something I'm in? It doesn't give anyone else time to digest the situation and make an unbiased decision whether they want to stomach the outing in the first place.
Too many are trepidatious about having to deal with both of us at once. You know this. Bring the hammer down on them AFTER they legally-bind their soul to the endeavor!I try to give you the same consideration

Quote:Gonna agree with most of this, in my not so humble opinion the devs should have done one thing and done it well (CoH, PvE) rather than trying to be jacks of all trades and masters of none. CoV did alot to split the player base and the way they mixed PvE and PvP just caused conflict and bad blood. When has fragmenting the player base ever been a concern of NCSoft? Many of their major pushes have done just that.
PVP, CoV, AE, GR...

If they do come out with a CoH2 and decide to have PvP (which they almost certainely would) they should do it in a different way. Develop a PvE only MMO and along side it develop a team-based shooter based off the MMO and sold in the same box. Imagine a TF2 like game with CoH AT's and powersets specifically balanced for PvP and the full CoH costume generator. No chance of PvP affecting PvE or vice versa (and no more grinding PvE to play PvP.) Also they should make pigs fly.

I like to it a little differently, have someone with high melee damage aggro the Rikti and then fly up and over the goo to the opposite side dragging the Rikti behind them. Once all 6 groups are engaged they pop an EoE and take out what's left of the yellows. By the time the rest of the team has taken out the pylons, the yellows and Rikti are down and you can start on the bules and greens. Also the greens do toxic damage not the yellows. The yellows, blues, and Hamidon do special damage which no one has resistance to. An EoE will cap your resistance to their damage but won't protect you from their special effects (fear, end drain, KB, etc.).

Quote:Damn, walked into that one.
Besides, we all know what is in the Virgina gene pool. I don't want to drink a byproduct of that, fo'sure.
Also not really suggesting getting any of the White Lightning. Years ago I was training with some Guardsmen from the West Virginia National Guard. When we were done we had a unit party and the West Virginia boys brought out the mason jar, God that stuff was smooth. Was hoping the commercial stuff would be as smooth, not even close. I'll stick with Bourbon or Tennessee whiskey. -
Quote:Try harder.Never, ever click on a link from Shamster. I learned my lesson long ago; had something to do with a turtle, a severly obese woman, and a "foot long" sandwich.
I can't drink enough to burn those images out of my mind -
Just caught some decent ones in Faultline.
Some conversations between Freaks where one Freak is welding another:
Tank Swiper: Tryin' to drink here. Can you weld more carefully?
Freak Gunner: Man, I'm tellin' ya, you keep moving and I'm going to weld that to your eye.
Freak Gunner: You know I have this tool here that burns stuff real bad right? Okay, so maybe you wanna stop moving around?
Chief Smasher: Oh quit your whining. I'm kneeling here like a statue.
Chief Swiper: This newspaper is flammable. It burns, man. Watch it, will ya?
Some Arachnos trying to bargin with the Freakshow:
Wolf Spider Enforcer: Well, I won't be extorted by some metallic psychopath in makeup. If you think those strong-arm tactics are going to work, think again. Do you even KNOW who Lord Recluse is?
Wolf Spider Enforcer: I can see I'm speaking above you here. Let's try something a little simpler: me give you good price. Ok?
A Wolf Spider after I agroed him:
Wolf Spider Assault: Didn't we just do this? I could have sworn not ten minutes ago I beat up a hero that looked JUST like you.
A PPD arresting 2 Lost:
SWAT Officer: You realize that's a small car, right? How did you even FIT in there? -
Just caught these ones in Sharkhead Isle when I aggroed Wolf Spiders that were holding people at gunpoint:
Wolf Spider Enforcer: I have a weapon pointed at a man's head and I'm in the middle of an interrogation. Did it ever occur to you that MAYBE trotting past like an elephant could be considered an intrusion?
Wolf Spider Huntsman: You I will deal with later. Captain Intrusion here is now on my No Witnesses list. -
Arc Name: KT Melee Combat Program
Arc ID: 393456
Faction: Neutral
Creator Global/Forum Name: Kobolt Thunder
Difficulty Level: Hard
Synopsis: This story arc represents a simple, "danger room" type combat program. There is no back story and very little dialogue. It was designed for players that enjoy heavy, melee combat and large NPC vs. NPC battles."
Estimated Time to Play: 5 minutes - forever and a day
Link to More Details or Feedback
I wrote this for my playstyle and If you've teamed with me you know that's fighting the agro limit of enemies in close combat. I also enjoy playing "lets you and him fight" with big groups of NPCs duking it out.
Basically this is one big melee brawl, no storyline, no fancy text. Every enemy has a melee and a defensive power set. I used the largest map I could and added 30 Blue patrols and 30 Red patrols. Reds and Blues will agro each other and as well as you.
The mission objective is an escort with the escort being a Stormy that plays like certain people who will go unnamed at this time. Keeping the escort alive takes some agro management.
So if you like melee combat, grab your Brute/Tank/Scrapper/wahtever, set your diff for 8 man spawns and go to town. -
Negative Ghostrider, if I was going to stalk someone it sure as heck wouldn't be you mister "I hope KT dies." Go harsh someone else's mellow dude.
-
Maybe instead of doing the standard "come get some" taunt, KM could telekenetically slap their targets in the face...maybe the back hand emote with some KM graphics added to it.

Pyro: ???/Silver Mantis

Demoman: Citadel/Black Scorpion

Keep as many ATs and powersets as can be reasonably balanced.
Levels would definitely go and I imagine enhancements would as well. -
Reforge the Shadow Shard.
Remove all PvP from the MMO and update the PvP zones with story arcs and Tfs.
Develop a team based shooter based on the MMO. -
Well that was fun for my 1st live run of it. Our team ran really smoothly. thanks for Running this Zamuel.

Thoughts and comments on the ITF...
No offense but yinz have got some squishey brutes. 8 brutes could have easily outdamaged the healing nictus but with half the team dead within a minute or two it just wasn't happening.
Viv,
sorry I didn't explain what I was doing when I drug Romulus over to the lake after the dogpiles didn't work. I type slowly and poorly so I can either fight or talk, not both. I was trying to drop Rom in the lake and split him from the Nictus but they weren't having any of being split. Couldn't get them to reliably split all night.
GP,
we could have been more organized but I don't think it would have helped alot. After we figured out dogpiles weren't working we switched to staffing which should have and eventually did work. There was something funky going on with Rom and it was more than just agroing on us when we were staffing. He took off running a couple times for no reason while he was fighting us. Hell he jumped up on the roof and we were no where near him. He's not the only one I've seen do this. When we did the blaster LGTF the Clockwork King was running around like a sissy.
MG,
you shouldn't count on enemy agro to build fury with, build it by attacking. I suggest heavily slotting your patron, ranged attack with recharge and spamming it. I was sitting at 2/3 fury when we were staffing.
Hamster,
you're welcome for another pling session, leech.
If you're in SoV check the base enhancement bins. I went on an OCD spending spree and left some presents.
Okay, I've used up my yearly quota of talking, back to lurking. -
Hmm....yes.
