What kind of person needs to be told to eat their meat?!

Veges yes, but meat is so darn good.... Mmmmm Minted Lamb.

[/ QUOTE ]If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?!

skip elude and worry about mindlink instead.

    [/ QUOTE ]^This^
NW Elude is only really useful for getting a Recharge and recovery boost in long AV fights.
  3. I like the idea of something new for the valentines event. The current one is a bit awkward with the cross faction requirements and it hasn't changed since Pocket D was first introduced.

So far this is the best suggestion for it. I'm curious to know if the '/unsigned' have something better to offer as a valentines event?
  4. It's better to play through the story to get a better feel of how it fits into the overall CoV plot. But GG's too much of a goody two shoes to try.
  5. I found that DB/Regen lacks a certain ammount of mitigation. All of DB's knockdown is at the end of relatively lengthy animations, unlike other primaries where it "Wham-Knowdown", DB ones are something like "Ping-Ping---Ping-Knockdown". Between the "Pings" the Chief Soldier gets to run you through with a sword twice your size. Regen tends to suffer under that exposure, at least it did in my experience of that combo.
Willpower would provide you with better protection in the long run because it covers more bases defensively.
  6. As this is the later and more complete version of the two postings of this guide I'll add this here as an additional note.
Since this original posting of this guide the inherent power has changed so that it affects all forms.
  7. As a VEAT you don't start as the "Destined One, or even as a Destined One. In the process of the story you do not discover that you are the destined one.
You're just an ambitious Arachnos Peon at the start. Sure you meddle with Project Destiny (who doesn't?) so you can get at the perks available to the other PC villains. I'll stop there to avoid spoilers.
  8. For VEATs the WOWs arrive at 24. It's a combination of "Wow, I thought that slog through 24 levels of enduranceless hell would never end. Followed by "Wow, nifty new powers of doom!" , and then, "Wow, that would have killed me twice over before I did the respec! Mua ha ha ha!!! "

    Merit bubble?

I think that Thunderspark has pretty much summed it up.
  10. There are no pitfalls I know of. It's a simple case of buy the Mac pack and confirm which game account you want to upgrade. It's not a complicated process, even I managed to do it.

*Floats in Nova form with 85% resistances and 130% damage boost*

It's ok. We can take it

I suppose thats the other side of the argument, WS Dwarfs get an easily perma AOE power which also boosts their form damage significantly, plus they'll have 1-2 pets floating behind them also dishing out punishment. And they can carry over Human Mire & Eclipse into Dwarf form too. Making them weaker pure Tanks than PBs is something I can deal with in return for all that damage capability.

[/ QUOTE ]That pretty much sums up why Warshades have no reason to complain. While a taunt aura would be convenient for a WS that wants to tank, it would make them over perform compared to PBs. That's assuming they don't already.
  12. I stand corrected.

And now, I think I'll go and gloat at a WS for being an inadequate tanker.
  13. To a certain extent this is as much the failing of the Blaster as it is the Taunt effect. In my experience it's a common delusion that Taunt is an absolute effect. This results in Blasters throwing the kitchen sink at a mob and then being suprised when they suddenly get a close up view to the local flooring.

Some blasters need to learn how to start off with less conspicuous attacks and build up to unleashing their big hitters. Even Defiance, in its current form, supports this strategy.

Given that PBs are so shiney, they could have a -ToHit PbAoE effect added to Shining Shield and Dwarf Form. Just a small secondary effect, say 3-5%.
That would give them a bit of thematically appropriate survivability that would fit with the "better at tanking" concept.

[/ QUOTE ]Oh come on. PBs already have a Gauntlet effect in White Dwarf Flare when WSs don't have one in Black Dwarf Mire. Giving PBs a freaking taunt aura on top of this is a bit much. I wanna keep agro too, you know.
Give Black Dwarf access to Orbiting Death if you're doing this. <_<

[/ QUOTE ]Actually White Dwarf Flare has no such effect. Both Dwarf Forms have the same Taunt power.
I wasn't suggesting that the -ToHit effect addition to White Dwarf and Shining Shield should have a taunt aspect.
  15. Given that PBs are so shiney, they could have a -ToHit PbAoE effect added to Shining Shield and Dwarf Form. Just a small secondary effect, say 3-5%.

  16. Wild idea. Change Vigilance so that Primary powers reduce endurance cost in a similar way to the way Defiance buffs damage (this would need to be scaled so that the more spammable power sets don't have an advantage over the less spammable ones). Then take the Secondary power sets give them a [very small) effect that works similar to Power Build Up (ie buffs the effects of Primaries (ToHit Buffs/Debuffs, Heals etc). Of course things like Damage Buffs would need to be handled carefully to avoid them becoming overpowered.
That way Defenders get a bit more viable soloing. Just an idea, I'm sure someone will think of a way this would be horrendously overpowered.

    Edited for typo
  17. IT's not worry about debt, it's simply that, as a Tri-Form, my PB only has six human form attacks (including Flare and Photon Seekers). Even with Hasten they don't make a complete chain so in melee I tend to flit between Human and Dwarf (I do have the Dwarf attacks well slotted) while the likes of Radiant and Incandescent Strike are recharging.
  18. The knockback isn't that bad. If you're in a team then the odds are that you'll get a damage buff from somewhere so alot of the time anything you hit is going to go down in fairly short order unless it's an armoured Rikti.
Alot of the PB's knockback can be managed simply by positioning and pretty much any midsized piece of scenery can act as a backstop.

Edit: Solar Flare is great for finishing off mobs you've just AoE blasted in Nova Form and the double Flare trick still works, just not as fast as it used too.
Just my opinion but, it seems a waste to keep a PB in human form when Nova and Dwarf have so much to offer. Maybe it's because I chose the Tri-Form route from the start and I'll usually swap form 3-4 times in the process of a regular fight.
Since reaching L40 my only powers problem has been Light Form. I've only used it once in the last two levels and I'm left wondering if it's worth keeping as Dwarf seems more than capable of providing me with equal protection (I don't have any shield toggles) without the nasty crash or locking me into one form for the duration.

    BBC Snowmen!!

    [/ QUOTE ]Hehe!
Snow? It must be Pimms o'clock!
  20. 8 inches (18cm) of snow here in Surrey.... and it's still falling steadily.
They're predicting another 8 or more inches to fall within the next 12 hours
  21. [ QUOTE ]
    Sets did improve character performance.

[/ QUOTE ]Note "set" means Power Sets" This is only your opinion. And was pointed out as such. It is not backed up by fact. I have yet to find anything that backs your arguement on this point. Neither do I believe that a character that is restricted to two sets of powers will be stronger that one that can choose any power he/she wants.

    [ QUOTE ]
Certain sets perform much better than others

[/ QUOTE ]Again only your opinion. Given that power sets are deliberately designed to be better at some aspects than other sets, such a claim is subjective. For example Fire Blast does better damage than Ice Blast. However Fire Blast has none of the mitigation or control abilities that Ice does. Which is better?
    [ QUOTE ]
Certain combos perform better than others.

[/ QUOTE ]I do not believe this was contested. Certain FOTM combos are well known to be better than others however, how to deal with them is a matter for the Devs and suggestions should go in the appropriate forum and be phrased appropriately. As opposed to "Nerf X".
    [ QUOTE ]
Several games are harder to play than CoX.

[/ QUOTE ]This was contested. We had a number of reputedly experienced MMO players contest this point and state their experiences with alternative MMOs that you sited in support of your argument. The evidence of those stated experiences contradicted your point 100%. That doesn't at least anecdotally proves you wrong.
    [ QUOTE ]
Several ppl logged in more than 1 account on dxp weekend.

[/ QUOTE ]This was not contested. However it was not the point that was argued against. You sited that the logging in on more that one account was the result of the game being too easy. This was not backed up by any evidence and is therefore no more that spurious, unfounded opinion. At best it's unfounded, at worst it's just plain wrong.
    [ QUOTE ]
Several ppl find Cox too easy and want a challenge.

[/ QUOTE ]Please refrain from twisting previous statement to form a defence. This was not a contested opinion, however you claimed that the game is too easy and should therefore be changed. Some suggested a new difficulty setting, others claimed they were happy with things the way they are. You then claimed that mobs had been weakened as proof that tha game was easier. That was rebuffed and proved to be hogwash.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
An opinion can never be wrong.....
It might be unpopular and not shared but it cant be wrong.

[/ QUOTE ]Actually, yes it can. It can be factually wrong or morally wrong (subject to the applied moral code of the time).

    [ QUOTE ]
I was wrong bout some things i claimed as facts i admit that.

    [/ QUOTE ] Only some?

    [ QUOTE ]
But there were several things i said, ppl said i was wrong just because i cant prove it, but they cant prove their side either, so who can say whos wrong or right ?
You cant say someone wrong cause he cant prove his views when you cant prove yours either... at least thats how i see it....

[/ QUOTE ] No, we knew you were wrong and challenged you to prove otherwise. You not only failed to meet that challenge, you actively evaded it.

    [ QUOTE ]
Its like someone saying he thinks there are aliens, and everyone says hes nuts and he needs to prove it first, while they cant prove there arent aliens either.

[/ QUOTE ] A very poor example to back up your attempted defence. That's something unprovable unlike the developement progress of this game, which is on record and within living memory.

    [ QUOTE ]
Or in school when you had to interpret a poem or a book of an ancient author, and the teacher says your wrong, how does he know ? Did he speak to the author-- most likely not.

[/ QUOTE ] Another poor example. Interpretation of literature is subject to experience and previous interpretation. If the student cannot back up his conclusions with a good, solid argument for his conclusions then of course he/she will be seen as wrong (and brobably foolish).

    [ QUOTE ]
Not all my statements are proven false.
In your opinion they are all false while you cant prove why they are false either-

[/ QUOTE ]However if you state that something is "just so" then you must expect to be challenged to back it up with something to confirm it. You failed to do so. Simply saying, "I can't prove it but it really is 'just so'", doesn't carry any weight. Especially when it is the cornerstone of your argument.

    [ QUOTE ]
And not everyone disagrees with everything i said.

[/ QUOTE ] And yet I have not seen a "you're right" post in... how many pages of thread??? Maybe not everyone disagrees with you, one or two people may fully support you, however that does not make you right. It makes you a minority.

    [ QUOTE ]
Well anyway lets see what I14 brings and if the devs dare to change something you think is proven wrong, you might argue with them.

[/ QUOTE ]Eh? That doesn't make sense.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
    [ QUOTE ]
    Concede gracefully?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nope, he cant do that, he was told by his acquintances that he's right.

    [/ QUOTE ]Lol!
The lesson? Beware the voices, they can lead you to ruin.
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Good to know that you cant post your opinions on certain things without ppl making fun of you or attacking you :-)

[/ QUOTE ]These "opinions" would be the things that you have stated as facts previously? Mob nerfs, dismissal of evidence at hand etc.?

    [ QUOTE ]
At least in game several ppl agree with some of my opinions.

[/ QUOTE ] I contest this on the grounds of insufficient supportive evidence!

    [ QUOTE ]
Its always the same ppl here anyway who say all is fine nothing needs change.

Have fun, till the next one posts an opinion which isnt yours, then you can start all over again :-)

[/ QUOTE ]It would help if your "opinion" wasn't initially and then repeatedly stated as fact while being completely lacking in real evidence to back it up.
And now ofcourse, when it's clear that nobody agrees with you and all your "opinions" have been proven false (or shown to be so dubious as to be false), it's back to the old faithful of, "You're all a bunch of mean, narrow-minded trolls".
    Concede gracefully?
  25. [ QUOTE ]
Acc got nerfed for bosses and ltn, they used to have higher acc.

[/ QUOTE ]Nope that was a correction to bring them into balance with the defence changes.
