  1. So complaining that it's unfair that the Devs only included one weapon model, which they generously put together in their spare time, isn't ungratful?

Priorities change, you have to accept that life cannot operate to an inflexible timetable just because you believe it is unfair for some projects to be given a lower priority.

Oh the Elemental Shields? They're there to complement the Elemental melee sets. They aren't there to thumb the nose at the lack of a Flaming Mace/Axe/Broadsword.
  2. [ QUOTE ]
the sword couldn't have been all that unplanned as it appeared in the promotional shots for the set. more likely it was on the list of parts they would like for the set but nere the bottom as its less integral than say the chest detail

[/ QUOTE ]Sorry but you are in error. It may be in the shots for the "booster pack" but those were made after the pack had been "signed off".
However, if you look at the original Mac Pack info... Tada! No sword listed and it's not in the screenie either. That's the info that was repeated for all references to the Valkyrie pieces until the standalone pack was release following the end if the Mac Pack 'grace' period.

Either way, all this whining is still a gratitude Fail.
  3. I can see spare Dev time being dedicated to playing solitaire if this is the thanks they get for managing to add an unplanned weapon model to a costume set.

    Gratitude Fail? I thinks so.

    BUTTCAPES

    [ QUOTE ]
But why allow us to have male widows if they are not supposed to have you know... The same looks as females?
Ok so there are usually gender specific uniforms when it comes to that.
And then they should have made the entire AT gender specific.

[/ QUOTE ]It's probably more a case of being the lesser of a choice of evils. Think of the outcry from the macho "I'm not playing a girl" brigade (yes they are out there) if widows were a female only AT.

    [ QUOTE ]
But I really cannot understand why it would look silly?

[/ QUOTE ]I did say, "they'd probably look really silly with a buttcape". It is an assumption on my part. Whether that was the deciding factor for Jay and Co. remains a matter of speculation.

    [ QUOTE ]
That certain costume parts are specific for gender I understand and accept... But a piece of cloth attached to the behind?
And it it's a technical issue... Wave goodbye to male trench coats. Since I assume they use very similar tech for the placement of the coat.

[/ QUOTE ] Not quite the same. The top ends of the trenchcoat and tailcoat pieces are at a significant distance from the actual body of the toon wearing them. Buttcapes on Night Widows and Fortunatas are flush with the bodies of those npcs. That positioning would make them much harder to look "right" in the more diverse world of PC hip scales. Also the more angular hips on the male PC models probably pose some problems.

It's because male Widows are the abomination!

Seriously though, they'd probably look really silly with a buttcape.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Guess you have a point... Unless the devs allowed us to make male Wido... Oh wait...

Se how that kinda kills all and any argument on why they should not have the capes?
If they were stupid(yes.. this is the best word for it) to actually allow us to make male widows in the first place.
Same can be said about the female soldiers.

[/ QUOTE ]The "it would look silly" argument has been used before to make decisions on costume pieces so no it doesn't kill the argument.
Just because we're allowed to make male Widows doesn't mean they would look any less daft wearing buttcapes. (In the end it's probably a technical issue anyway.)

As for allowing female SoA, there's a historical example of female Wolfspiders in concept art so saying they are in the same situation is also invalid.

They don't have much more idea than we do, when it comes to when a feature will be implemented. It just has to sit in the queue and wait its turn.

[/ QUOTE ]Even then there's no order in which, suggested features "in the queue" might make it into the game. There's a huge ammount of, "is this idea practical?" and, "can we fit this into our already crammed schedule?"
It seems to me that a number of the suggestions that have been implimented were actually taken up as "I've got 5 minutes to wait on X being done so I'll play about with suggestion Y to see if it's worth working on."

    Boombox broken

The boom box emote and sound fx don't work??

    YES! There is a god!!
  9. [ QUOTE ]
Well, in a large team, with their scaling critical rate, I wonder if Stalkers really do deal less DPS than Scrappers these days... I haven't really examined the numbers in detail, mind you.

[/ QUOTE ]Theoretically, their dps is better as their critical chance is much higher. In practice a Stalker is still a bit fragile compared to a Scrapper so for the most part they can't maintain that higher dps rate for long without support.
  10. I've been monitoring this thread to see what advice on SR I could glean for my /SR scrapper and there have been some impressive, but insanely expensive, builds offered.
I must say I like Neko's version, it's streamlined and reasonably affordable and still effective; without heaping in the Fighting pool (yuck!), HOs and purple sets.
  11. While custom colouring of MM pets would be a nice addition, I think actual model customisation is, as Col_Blitz has pointed out, very much in the "ain't ever gonna happen" box.
  12. At least it's not a Borat mankini.

With female widows it's a good idea to keep the spider chest detail if their uniform is a pale shade, just to maintain their dignity.
  13. You do get your second cossie slot at L10 so it's not too bad, and the Padded Armour costume textures allow a good approximation of the Wolf Spider uniform.
I went for an anime-style evil tomboy look for my female Bane Spider.
In the end though, if you want a female VEAT that looks good in uniform then it has to be a Widow/Fortunata.
  14. Broadsword/Regen is actually quite potent. The primary provides some good immediate damage and is well balanced with a mix of single target and AoE attacks. The -Def effect allows for slotting of some handy Proc IOs (if you can find/afford them). The redraw caused by Regen isn't so much of a problem because the two attacks immediately following a redraw squoosh(technical term) together to make up for the initial delay. Early on, i.e. before you get Disembowel at 26, you may find a quick knockdown attack like Air Sup' handy for some extra mitigation.

You really have a choice with Parry, it can be "just another attack" or some extra protection for fighting EBs. A bit of frankenslotting can make it handy for both roles.

Anyone can go Willpower and more or less cruise to 50. Regen requires a bit of thought before the inevitable charge or counter charge. You also need your wits about you mid fight as your well being is your own responsibility rather than a battery of toggles.
  15. My PB is waiting on slotting a bunch of ER IOs into Photon Seekers. I hope this gets fixed soon. It's annoying seeing such handy IOs just gathering dust in her enhancement tray

But those levels are the gritty trials that make you appreciate the other 28 levels of SO wholesomeness on that toon.

    City of Monopoly

Good old "buy low, sell high". Everyone's bought low and now they're selling higher, and higher, and higher, and higher, and... you get the picture.
  18. Stack the barricades!
    Ready the banners!
    Unfurl the red flag!

Avatea: "Matt I've just seen the EU boards, they're revolting."
    Posi: "i14 Cake?"
  19. I have no idea how you could summarise such divergent level ranges in a story arc description. I was only offering a solution to indicating level ranges for individual missions.

It could always be added to the mission notes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Mission notes? Is it confirmed that we can add notes outside of the mission briefing from the contact?

[/ QUOTE ]I don't know. I expect we will get some kind of description info before choosing a mission. If need be then a, "Ideally I need a security level X to Y Hero team" line could be added to the contact text.
  21. One dismal december'05 weekend, when I was bored of EQ2, I decided to download a free trial of CoH. It was such a change of pace, I ordered the CoH 'Deluxe' box from amazon that week and CoV shortly after that.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
I'm a bit concerned that players might not find out what level a mission is until they are in it.

[/ QUOTE ]It could always be added to the mission notes. Just take the highest minimum level for the mobs in you mission and the lowest maximum and you have your level range. For example, in pohsyb's example the level range would be 40-45.

It doesn't take a giant logical leap to think along the lines of "Alone" == "Lonely".

That may be so, but it's not sufficient justification for the assumption of a right to a reply.

I can't understand why the simple icon system in search is so hard for some people to follow.
    Grey: Not looking for team
    White: Looking for any
Green/yellow etc: Looking for something specific
Red: "FFS stop spamming me with blind invites"

If that player is flagged as Grey or Red, you should not even presume to expect a reply.

But as FFM wisely pointed out:
