You can't be 1 shotted by a stalker, As was nerfed to prevent this, but for some reason it's fine for a scrapper or blaster to one shot a stalker.
The melee damages a /energy blaster can do using Aim and build up is just wrong. -

Even a tank will kill a squishy before supression kicks in. (funny how they do so much more damage than say dom or defender, despite also having there attacks in there secondary).

My stalker was 1 shotted by a /Energy blaster in Sirens over the weekend. The damage of an Energy attack + Buildup and Aim is horrible. Funny how Stalkers aren't allowed to 1 shot anymore but blasters and scrapper can and do regularly.
(All adding to my general dislike for PvP tbh) -

Each arch type has a role in PvP. Half the time villains only loose because there are more heroes in sirens. I have a SR scrapper with all the defeences + tough and still have been 1 shot killed by stalkers. Stalkers also get critical hits once they are discovered.

Only if the opponent is held -
The scrapper version does more damage.. as said earlier if it's gonna be nerfed nerf the scrappers as well.
-
Probably has something to do with the fact that all hero support rolls are on average at least 25% strong than a comperable villain support roll.
Not just my opinion tbh.. the sheer lack of villains in most PvP zone is pretty much testament to the fact. Even the strongest villain team would have much of a hope against a team of BS regens (current build of the month from what I saw in Sirens last night) when supported by even 1 healer. -
Villains don't show up as heroes are generally a lot stronger in PvP. Getting pounced on a pounded to the floor repeatedly by toons who attacks you can't hope to combat or resist is not fun.

lol, more people complaining about overpowered scrappers, while a decent dark/ MM would take down any scrapper, regen, the lot

andhave you tried to fight a Mastermind with a fast heal, and bodyguard? no matter what you are your toast..MM are the most powerful PVP AT's in my opinion, if used well.
[/ QUOTE ]
My BS/SR destroys MMs through bodyguard
[/ QUOTE ]
Heavy single target damage for t3h win I'm thinking. ... oh and SR of course meaning MM's likely debuffs/heals (especially Twilight Grasp) really would have trouble hitting.

Quite rightI usually pop elude and jump on in, SR is the only real viable scrapper set to take on MMs IMO If the MM has acro and aid self then it doest get quite hard but sooner rather than later the pets will die and the MM will follow (unless they are healing of someone else and elude crashes
)

Which works because villains don't get powers that fantastically increase their accuracy... see my point... -
But the stacked stealth allows stalkers to make 1 strike before they become obvious to all and get blasted. Where as scrappers are + damage modifier all the time with every hit and have a ton more hit points than any stalker could ever have and they don't have to be hidden to achieve a critical hit.

Scrappers have a brawl index higher than any villainous AT in the game
[/ QUOTE ]There is no such thing as brawl index
[/ QUOTE ]
This guy seem pretty convinced there is... -
Been talking to a few people and looking at some of the numbers and powers an PvP seems to be very hero biased
Things like:
Scrappers have a brawl index higher than any villainous AT in the game
Scrappers crits ignore damage resistant secondaries.
Focused accuracy - basically give any hero the ability to ignore any villains defence based secondary. (with their being no villain alternative)
Regen scrappers stamina - with their stamina recovery these guys can happily run heavy toggles and still fight forever (again no villainous equivalent).
Villains PPP - basically pointless in a PvP arena.
The only potential villainous advantages have either been nerfed or are bugged so they don't work
Fury - Takes so long to build in PvP that it's worthless
Hide - With every hero and his dog having Tactics running stalkers are now just squishy gimped scrappers.
Placate - bugged as after effect of an attack negates the hide (and this will not be fixed).
All in all it's no wonder that there are so few people who PvP. -
EM/Regen is a bit flavour of the month ATM.. see loads of them around, mainly due to massive damage potential and PvP survivability.
For PvE I find defence based secondary much more satisfying. -
I think I faced you in Sirens over the weekend Tanker.. you were great fun.. look forward to seeing your stalker
-
SR gives a natural boost to perception which regen doesn't get
-
aye but eating little purples negates your yellow and we just wait till your little MoG runs down then you're ours
You can't kill us if you can't reach us and we have range + immob
Impale, placate, build up, AS, impale bye bye -

the fact is that in the game a good heal will ever be better than a good shield as shield can be penetrated by 400000 things(debuff, buff, aim, autohit...)
so i would say regen is a good option.
and for the primary its sad but true, avoid anything but EM.
i play all primary, all the tiny "plus" they got (like side effect of MA or long range of claw and spine, are nothing compared to having almost 2 AS (as and ET) you have in EM
in duel i see it a lot. you can be skilled, a EM stalker that fight you only need one succesfful ET when you will have to scrapp him.
[/ QUOTE ]
A spines/nin or spines/sr would own you EM/Reg anyday tbh -
Scrappers - the devs are happy to let them run around PvP owning with their unstoppable crits, 1.25 B.I. and superior regen but a stalker having the ability to hide and then (shock horror) attempt to hide a again to actually give them a decent chance against a Regen scrapper... forget it.

I just don't think there's any way to love, enjoy, experience a good Stalker build til the mid 20s. Then everything just clicks.
Just me, maybe
[/ QUOTE ]
Agree absolutely, I'd actually say once a stalker gets to SO levels then they really get fun
Stalkers are probably the latest developing AT in the game. -
Stalkers are about dealing high damage quickly then running away, a brute will just bundle from mob to mob smashing everything that comes in reach. A stalker has to plan the attack to take advantage of their strength. ie. Take out the mobs boss first scrap it out for a bit (probably taking out another) then placating the remaining guy and finish him off with an AS.
Took me time to get used to the stalker AT but I now have 3 in my account and love em to bits.
I'm a big fan of SR, feels great running into a mob and seeing not one of them hitting you :P -
Stalkers the best in PvP? I thought that honour went to the Spines Regen scrappers
-
You INCREASE the recharge rate and DECREASE the recharge time.
Simple really. -
There is a reason Dark Consumption is in the DM set... basically allows the whole DA set to keep going.
I use Cloak of Fear as a hold when triggering Soul Drain and Dark Regen. Oppressive Shield I tend to use against Sappers and Spec Ops as a way to get them to stop zapping me with end drain.
On the whole I find Cloak of Fear much more useful..
BTW I have every power in the DA set and use them all. -
Midnight Grasp critical is scary damage + Dark is one of the least resisted Damage Types (always useful)
-
My lvl 39 SR does Mayhems on Relentless and dances around Longbow laughing at their pitiful attacks, hides in plain site then AS's them.
-
Reg stalkers suck at Mayhems tbh once a few mobs come in and start shooting your hit points disappear faster than ear plugs at a James Blunt concert. Best way for a stalker to solo mayhems is not be hit and for that you need a defence based secondary. The whole Aggro'd mobs see through hide just makes a stalkers life a misery.
