Quote:It's separate. Part of it leaked out many years ago to just a couple people, and the other files leaked out more recently, IIRC.Are they related to the Lore AMA? Or something that was posted separately?
It's basically the developer's lore documents from ~2004, including all the original background for most of the original groups (Rularuu, Malta, CoT, Nemesis, etc), including things never before revealed, or things that came out many years later (such as the weapon used against Rularuu in his invasion, we learned about in DA). It doesn't include any recent additions/changes to the lore (there's nothing about Oz), but it's quite a good read. I actually have the 5th Column section of the bible open right now -
You mean when you clicked the link to download it, it simply automatically opened the program? What web browser are you using?

Quote:Can someone post a step by step instruction of what to do with this program for the computer illiterate..
Thank you...- Start City of Heroes
- Log in to the character you want to backup
- If you want your badges, type /infoself into the chat box
- While leaving CoH open in the background, switch over to the folder where you downloaded Sentinel+
- Double click the Sentinel file you downloaded
- It's done!
Are there any specific parts you're unsure about? You can repeat steps 2-6 for each of your characters. -

Greatest accomplishment? Confusing and dazing hordes of forumites with my inane and insane posts. Including getting at least one PM from a red name asking if I was serious. Although the best response I ever got was the one in my sig
Oh, you meant in the game? Yeah, I don't really play the game. Not a fan of video games. -
Yeah, you should be using beta not test. I'm not even sure what they use test for these days

Quote:Across all servers: "In the worlds biggest synchronized Positron Task Force group across all the City of Heroes Servers."One question, which server, or will there be runs on all servers ?
(was that line added later, or did I just suck at reading the first time I read that post?) -
I love it! It's a wonderful symbolic gesture, at the very least!
I'll try to attend both (on Virtue), and lead teams as needed. Let's see how many new characters out there we can get to earn that badge! -
That's awesome! Really creative usage of unconventional tools to teach important stuff!

Minecraft with a high resolution texture pack
Both creative and survival are rather fun, although tend to appeal to different people (I prefer survival, I like the constraints when I'm trying to make anything). It's also still under quite heavy development by Mojang, and it looks like they've still quite quite a few ideas of where to take it in the future.

Quote:She's one of the main characters in Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog. Which is simply awesome.I don't know who that is, but well done! We can always use more redheads on our side.
(The Guild, though, is what made her famous, AFAIK... which I've never seen) -

Quote:*cough*City of Heroes*cough*Can magic and Science fiction co-exist in the same world? Quite possibly; it does in Guild Wars 2 and World of Warcraft...
Quote:((actually, come to think of it, why arent there more Science fiction live action shows on TV running? or if they do, why do they seem to get cancelled earlier/faster than the generic fantasy ones?))
Lots of science fiction shows also have fairly elaborate set designs, so that can get quite expensive as well (I think Firefly's ship set was fairly expensive).
But, I'd say the biggest reason? Network executives hate science fiction, and always try to meddle. Like how Fox reordered the episodes of Firefly so the pilot was the 11th episode (hilariously enough, the last episode made was shown as 10...) which made the story much harder to follow. Or, how Futurama was basically the most pre-empted show in history (I think at least 20% of the episodes were pre-empted... they had enough they never showed to make an entire season. And people think CoH got treated poorly by NCSoft! -
Quote:Assuming it just happens to be flying over then, the shadow should be directly under it at noon... but, yeah, far more likely it will be far off to one side. Dynamic shadows are awesomeYou can still see the whirlybird from the ground level, but if I recall the shadow is never directly under it. If you stand around Atlas Park's open areas you might see it fly past ... I want to say that it always flies in a straight line over City Hall, but I'm not certain of that. It's how I first saw it, though.

Quote:Shadow Hunter and Penelope Yin.On a related note and something I've been meaning to ask: Who are the two NPCs? Scary Bear Man and Pink Armless Girl? (Though I see on closer examination she does in fact have a right arm...)
Shadow Hunter is the Praetorian version of Woodsman, and is met in Night Ward (you might be able to fight him in it- I didn't try to insult him), as well as some of the late game Portal missions.
Penelope Yin is met in Faultline as a young girl, and again later when she's kidnapped as part of the LGTF (still young). She's now (when older) part of the Freedom Phalanx and gives out the Penelope Yin Task Force, and in the LRSF and a few other places in her older form. -
The Devs could fix everything... except NCSoft's heart.

Quote:Yay!As much as I understand what and why you're asking for this, unfortunately this would require engaging the Seattle web team which, at this point, is highly unlikely.
Sorry.

Quote:Ah, I just checked myself and it seems to be fine.Had no problems with my launcher, and still checks for updates.
How long has it been since you updated your installation at work? Was it very out of date? They don't keep the xdelta updates around to go from every version to the latest, so it might have just been too old, and so had to do the larger, slower method instead via repair. -
Likely just false positives. Lots of other games have had these sorts of things happen... I think generally they end up reversing the bans and adjusting their system. Hopefully they'll do that in this case.
