Quote:/signed to this, definitely an oversight
Right decision number 1: Add some form of subtext or something in the tutorial when you're told you can change your morality at lvl 20, that states that you have to pay to do so.
(2 won't happen, because alignment switching was originally part of a paid expansion before the game was free) -
Quote:It depends on the quality of the voice acting. The "voice acting" in other MMOs has been pretty horrible (you click NPC and get "<generic common voice greeting>"). In one particular MMO that's themed after a long running series of scifi TV shows/movies, you'd get some contacts that'd read their mission text... except it wouldn't be ones that were main characters or anything, it would be some random side character that you'll never see again. Now that's a "wtf?"!You jest, but there are people who would seriously prefer text to be replaced with (ugh) voice acting.
Voice acting of a similar quality to that of the newest games like Skyrim (I always have subtitles on as well) would be nice, especially for that mid-mission text that just flashes on your screen, or during the cut scenes. But, at this point, that's really not a reasonable thing to do. Having only new content with voices would be a bit weird... especially when they bring in an older character that we've already developed our own voices in our heads... it would be jarring! -
Lower your in-game font size, or lower your UI size.
You're welcome. -

Quote:It's not a boolean.2) How do you think NPCs become ally or enemy?
I'm pretty sure it's a "on or off" or "ally or enemy" flag in the database they use to maek this happen. It just so happens that the code that "flips the switch" broke so that the NPC didn't become an ally when they needed to. -
Quote:Are you claiming it's a bug with all rescue missions? Because that's certainly not been my experience... From the description on PWiki (can't recall at all if I ran it before), the encounter sounds quite similar to many I've done in the last couple days alone (without any issues).1) I run into NPCs in need of rescue/kidnap/escort every few missions. That is a lot more often than "once every 3 days".
Quote:2) This code that makes NPCs enemies until their captors are defeated is....REALLY COMMON. So, I expect this bug to occur somewhat often.
I don't think that's a crazy assumption, even if I haven't proven it yet by runnign another mission with such an NPC. -
The "known issues" list is not an exhaustive list of all issues they know about (they're not going to dump their bug DB into the GMOTD). You assume they're "obvious", but, as a software developer, I can tell you flat out that when a bug's solution seems obvious... it often is anything but. Without seeing the code (or being told by someone that has), you certainly can't make that claim with any level of confidence (hell, even when you know the code, you can't make the claim with much confidence until you've actually solved it!).
Personally, I've not ran into any bugs in a while (not counting the "Regretfully, Cyrus Died" one I started a thread about... which was merely humorous). After playing this game for many years, this is definitely one of the better periods wrt bugs and instability. -
Also, IIRC, Preems/Freems can still use the /bug option (just not /petition). Hopefully you also /bug-ged it in game, to add it to their bug tracking system.

Yes, they gave up. They certainly didn't do any gags this year...

You agreed to never cosplay as a neko again. Didn't you see the thread about it?

Well, looks like my mission isn't quite over, if you know what I mean -
I'm totally getting that Rularuu Costume Change power!

I was talking to a source that's pretty in touch with the developments going on there, and it sounds like whatever they're working on won't be a sequel to CoH (at least, it's not going to be super hero themed). This shouldn't really be all that surprising, given the random hints the devs have occasionally dropped.

Quote:It would have been cool, but it's very doubtful that it would be easy to do. The tanks in RWZ are little more than an animation, they never actually fire or deviate from their course, and can't be attacked.you already have moving ground vehicles in RWZ...attack animations should mostly be limited to power effects (unless you also want the turret to move around...which would be cool) so would it be easy to set up a mobile vehicle for us to fight....so that...one day, we could find ourselves facing a Nemesis mole machine in battle? or something else equally cool and interesting
I'd bet good money that the original version of the mission was supposed to have tanks that would move around firing, but was scrapped for being too difficult.
(can't comment on the DA part, not done any of that content yet) -
They might have corrected it sometime in the last... dozen issues, but at least used to I could only use the character itself from inside a bind file, not inside the game as part of a slash command. No idea why it was like that.
(and technically that's the 'grave accent', not the tilde, which is ~!) -
I presume you're EST based on your first comment? If so, then GMT -4 is what you should be at right now (and is what the bottom of the page should show). (EST is normally -5, but when DST is in effect, you jump ahead an hour, making you -4)

You sure you have your time zone set correctly? It's working perfectly fine for me.

They're greyed out because (1) you're a free (premium) account and (2) you don't have an Invention License.
You can either upgrade to VIP (subscribe like before), buy a temporary Invention License (on the Paragon Market), or gain enough Paragon Reward Points for it to be unlocked permanently. -
By "linked", do you mean you created it under the same NCSoft Master Account? What error do you get (be specific!) when you try to log in with the old account?
You might need to change your password from the NCSoft Master Account page (the game password, not the master account password).
