Releasing of a power macro
the problem is that you need to choose a location.
I really wish some pets, especially ones like Phantasm, would just appear right next to your character without having to be placed, the same goes for when rains are used in air or Spectral Terror.
But yeah, your best bet is setting them to a button you can easily press with one hand while your other remains on the mouse. I prefer to use the numpad for all my powers except the location targets that I place on the number row above the letters of my keyboard for my left hand to use.
As Immortalus says, use a bind instead of a macro. This means your mouse doesn't have to move anywhere, except to select the target location. Personally, I never click the buttons with my mouse during battles, I either use the default number/alt+number/ctrl+number binds, or ones I've created myself.

But how do i do that? I want to be able to release them without having to click my mouse. I don't know how to bind/macro it to release. meaning i have the powers set for 1 2 3 4 but i always have to go to my mouse in order to actually release the power.

However, there IS a way to speed up the bind a little bit so you can do it all with one mouse click.
Try this: /bind shift+lbutton, "powexecname Tar Patch"
What that will do, is any time you hold Shift and click on the ground, it casts Tar Patch on that spot. As far as I know, that's the most efficient bind/macro for these kinds of powers that's possible. You can have up to three such binds, using shift, ctrl, and alt.
Wow that's really sad i was hoping i could somehow bind the release to the little swiggly thing next to the number one. That would of made thing's much more fluid.
/bind tilde "powexecname Tar Patch"

Yes, the key beside the 1 key is called the "tilde".

I assumed he didn't know the key name.

You can also just use ` rather than typing out "tilde".
(and technically that's the 'grave accent', not the tilde, which is ~!)

So I've recently started to macro my keys and i'm finding it makes my life and game fluidity a WHOLE lot easier. However it's a problem when it comes to my ill/dark. When ever i want to release her PA, Tar patch, Spectral terror, ect I find myself having to go to my mouse and clicking (which totally throws off the fluidity of the mechanics of the macros). What i would like to know is if there's a way to macro the release of a placement power such as pet's, ouroboros, spirit tree, and many other debuffs and buffs.
Thanks ^_^
