Well, if you're some normal mook, or a random civilian, would you be able to tell the difference between a normal 50 and an Incarnate? I get that it's silly and oversimplifying, but people tend to use labels. That still doesn't excuse it, but it goes a long way towards explaining it. Do you see people in movies stop to say "Three hundred forty-five Nazi soldiers, with ranks ranging from Recruit Private (85%) to Lance Corporal (~1%), approaching from a heading of one hundred thirty-five degrees at a speed of approximately eight knots!", they say "A crap-ton o' Nazis comin' in from the North-East!"

Why stop at Origins? We could have all sorts of individual pools relating to given archetypal characters:

Bionics: Melee Attack, Force Field Ally Buff, +DMG toggle (comes with a +def FF toggle), +Regen/Recovery Clicky

Energy Being: Narrow Daze cone, Ally +End/Recovery|Enemy -End/Recovery, Energy Run(Hasten Clicky), DoT Aura

etc.

Bru...that's pretty great.

So...a +ToHit? Seems like a good idea.

Possible Accolades:

Engineer (w/ Architect): EMP gun: Weak Energy DMG, Chance to stun, extra DMG on machines.

City Contractor (w/ City Official): Small chance for single merit reward drops on mission completion.

Base Repair Specialist (w/ Monitor Duty): Increased Prestige gains in SG Mode.

That could be theoretically changed.

The way I see it, this would probably be like combining sorcerers and wizards in D&D (3.5...4e is icky!). The two have rather similar stats, identical spell lists, and mostly vary in weapon proficiency and how they cast their spells. I can imagine the annoyance some people might have at playing a sorcerer in a campaign for years, and hearing "Okay, Fredley, you are now a wizard."

I always remember who gives me stuff.
