Do I get them from defeating players, NPCs outside, or in missions?
I am a complete newb to PvP, and looking to try. -
AWESOME cake, and gratz on level 3! Diaper Decimator's first slots!
I have a level 4 sonic/mental manipulation (read little girl), and one on the way. -
Very minor, but if you take a 50 common IO out of Stamina and replace it with a 50 endmod/rech (or endmod/acc), you gain 22.6 HP and lose 1/2% from total endurance recovery.

Quote:There is much truth here. Also, being DM you have *tons* of -tohit on everything you attack, which has immense synergy with your defense.i would suggest taking and using caltrops before you burn billions of infamy on defense bonii that will do the same as 'trops. use them strategically and you can go nearly without toggles. just a thought.
[edit to add: what i usually do when planning an IO build, is pick and slot powers as if i only had SO's, and then look at IO sets to see what can be moved around and where to, etc. maybe that will help in planning.]
My DM/Nin has a *very* modest build, nothing expensive in it at all (I even run Acrobatics for knockback rather than IOs), and she took down every EB she faced with ease. Even Positron, who always seems to be a bear for my brutes to beat.
EDIT: I attached my last known planned build, its not 100% accurate, but it is very close to what I actually did.

With the new system in place I tend to run -1/0 up to level 20/22 (Stamina/SOs). I have run a couple of characters this way and found it to be advantageous to the wallet for 2 reasons:
1) I don't buy *any* TOs or DOs (thanks to the -1 con and 'beginners luck')
2) I am able to run a ton more content and typically have about 100 merits by level 22. With a little luck, at least one random roll will be worth a good chunk o' change.
Oh, and post 22 it depends on the AT. I tend to favor melee characters and run +2(or 3) / x2 (or 3-4) -
The biggest reason I can think that they would want to keep it to 10 is repecs. When you respec, you have to carefully think about which 10 enhancements you want out of your build and either slot the rest or lose them.
This makes enhancements mostly permanent, which *I think* is the main idea of them. -
I love bacon. I asked it to marry me, but ended up with my wife instead. At least she makes me bacon.

One of these days I'm going to have to dust off my old fire/dark. He hit 50 long before IOs existed, and I bet he would be a BEAST with IO goodness. He was near indestructible with just SOs.
Great guide. -
What did they change for the event this year? Other than that present looks different?

Quote:Messed around a little more. Ironically, I think going into AVG's Tools > Advanced Settings and disabling Gaming Mode did the trick. Only tested for a half hour (I can usually repro the glitch every 30 mins) and had no issues with Gaming Mode disabled. Looks promising, but a longer test will be in order tomorrow.
I had to work late last night, but I will get some game time tonight so I will test this and report my findings back tonight as well. Thanks for looking into this! -
I don't know what version of drivers I am using, but I know they are quite old. (as in, there have been at least 3 new versions that have come out that I have not upgraded to).

I wish I had something useful to add to this conversation other than I recently started experiencing this as well. I actually assumed I had a nasty running around on my computer and ran all sorts of virus/malware scans with no problems.
I will monitor this thread in hopes for a resolution. Thanks Obsidious for knowing what to look for and being willing to help out! -
aaah, I can't say for sure. I mean in theory it would be like slotting a -2 SO of extra damage (pre-ED) to all of your attacks, so it should make a noticeable difference. I can't honestly say I have ever been on the receiving end of that buff though.
-
The shields would provide ~23.5% resist to everything (except psi), and the bubble shield an additional ~17.7. You would be walking around with 41% resist to everything (-psi), plus your additional shields, which would put you at or near the resistance cap on all that stuff.
You would be nigh unkillable, as long as you don't stand in -res fields. -
Chaotic Neutral for the most part, in life and in game.

Well I do have a high level brute that does all lethal damage (claws/wp), but because she is a brute she can stand toe to toe with just about anything for just about forever.
I was thinking that by virtue of being a stalker it would be more difficult, and that /ela doesn't appear to have any of the bag-o-tricks that ninjitsu has.
I'm still a lowly level 18, but having a hoot for now. -
I assume it would stack pretty well. My Kin/Rad Defender took Oppressive Gloom from the dark epic so that he can 1 shot stun bosses.
-
Thanks, that's kind of what I figured. I'll play him anywho and see how he does post SOs before I decide if I want to IO him.
-
I don't PVP, but from my experience with PVE and Dark Melee in general, I would think that you are missing out on a heavy damage dealer (and minor heal) from Siphon Life.
That's all the advice I can really offer, because I could never even dream of affording all those IOs! -=drool=- -
I have a dark/ninja stalker who is an absolute joy to play, so I decided to roll up a new stalker to play around with this AT. I started a spine/electric, and so far my experience has been a lot of fun, but I do have a concern.
I have noticed that with build up and assassin's impaler, I do only about 1/3 damage to a boss. I know that I am currently only using DOs, and that the damage will get better, but I am wondering how much of a roll lethal resistance plays in my ability to damage my victim... ah... targets....
Any advice from players who have higher level lethal damage dealers? -
Wow, those are awesome examples!
I'm getting closer to 20 and will have something for my second costume soon.
