What do you set your difficulty to?

Still getting comfortable with everything in the game and just started screwing around with my difficulty settings last night and I'm curious as to what other blasters do regarding this in terms of solo play (truth be told I don't know if it affects you when you're on a team).

I figured to avoid getting decimated I started out by just making myself equivalent to two heroes and left the mobs at default (which if memory serves is equal to your lvl). I only died once and that was really more because of my own stupidity (ran in without stocking up on inspirations). I was thinking about possibly making my toon equal to 3 or maybe even 4 heroes but lowering the lvl of the mobs by one, thinking that at that point I would just mow through everything.

I'm not necessarily looking to increase xp gain as much as possible (however tips on that aren't going to hurt), I just get some sick pleasure out of killing everything I see lol... I'm the guy flying around that if I see a large group of mobs that are far below my lvl I will throw a fireball at them just to see if I can wipe the whole group with just that

It's going to vary a bit depending on your blaster and the particular foe. However in general Blasters are good at AoE so you'll find it goes faster when you've got large numbers of minions and LTs to mow down with few bosses. To that end your best bet is what you're already doing: increase team size as much as you're comfortable with but set the level to +0 and no bosses.

To answer your question my Blaster (an AR/Dev) generally runs at 2-5x team size depending on the enemy. Carnies for example are weak to my damage type so I'm comfortable upping the team size. Malta on the other hand are resistant to my attacks and have a lot of nasty LTs so I tend to lower the spawn size to 2x. Most other groups fall somewhere in between.

With the new system in place I tend to run -1/0 up to level 20/22 (Stamina/SOs). I have run a couple of characters this way and found it to be advantageous to the wallet for 2 reasons:

1) I don't buy *any* TOs or DOs (thanks to the -1 con and 'beginners luck')

2) I am able to run a ton more content and typically have about 100 merits by level 22. With a little luck, at least one random roll will be worth a good chunk o' change.

Oh, and post 22 it depends on the AT. I tend to favor melee characters and run +2(or 3) / x2 (or 3-4)

lol. I do the same thing. I usually run on +1/x2. I have played with +3 and 4 to see how good my AoE chain was with my archer.

I'm a Mac user, no Mid's for me

My single target blasters play on +3/x2 or +4/x2.

My Energy/Energy/Force solos on +2/x4.

My Ice/Fire solos -1/x8 or 0/x8 to farm.

My IO'd Rad/Fire does +1/x8 or +2/X8 depending on my whim.

I run comfortable at +0/x8 on my lvl 50 Fire/Ment against all the foes scanner missions in PI throw at me. Arachnos and Malta are always problematic and force me to carry BF's and actually pay attention. Carnies and CoT give no major problems, and Council are just pushovers.

I could probably push it to +3 or +4 if I need a challenge, but I haven't tried it yet.

I mostly run my blasters +1/x3. Well, past SOs, anyway. Prior to that I just leave em flat.

Leveling up I'm partial to doing -1 level then ramping up the team size as I get more AoE, or whatever. Probably to x3 or x4, then leave it there for a while. I farm on my archery/energy blaster at +3/x8, but no bosses.

@Gilia1
I play heroes on Champion.
I play villains on Virtue.

-1/x3 up to around 25ish, 0/x3-4 till around 38, after that depending on mobs -1/x4 to +2/x4
once i hit 50 and dumped some more inf into it, its +1-2/x5-6 according to foes in mission and the tendency of the map scale(ramp up, staggered, flat, ect.)

thats with my namesake ar/dev

my fire blaster on the other hand sticks went with -1/x3 till about 30 then switched to
-1/x6 and stayed that way most of the time, he may stay that way or go up to +0 at 50 not sure yet.
