    Sketch Week!

*runs in* Just another looking good comment! *runs off again for sleep and more anime con*

    New Arts

As of Sunday she said she had a two week queue...I imagine it'll be a month by the time her deadline rolls around :7
  3. Kai

    Roxi sketch

Heh, still cool even if its just tracework, you have no idea the absurd number of screenshots I took of Roxy trying to get the right angles and positioning of outfit pieces without having the shot look er...propositioning
  4. LJ, I can tell you I was grinning ear to ear when I got the inks for the Jimmy/Lina piece and was just about bursting to show someone, anyone, even the people who smiled and nodded and had no clue what I was on about I was so happy. I'm sure YJ was the same when I showed it to him :7
  5. Usually I don't think anything odd of a month for the stuff I get, but honestly am fine out to 2 or 3 so long as I know the artist is alive and I'm getting updates, if not of my artwork at least of their situation. Most the artist have week or less turn arounds so that's what I expect. Start getting into people with year-long queues and all, then obviously longer is fine, though I personally am something of an instant gratification sort, so I know better than to sign up for those

    Hugo is awesome.

    *fails willpower check*

My that's an awkward place to have a mole...showing people must get you strange looks...
  7. I don't think anyone really has an issue with long waits, I think the issue was(is?) unexpected long waits with very little explanation. Its different when you know something will take 6 months, a year, etc, but, (my own experience elsewhere)its very frustrating when a piece commissioned with the understanding and expectation of 3 months still isn't done in 8 and there's been little to no communication as to why. Sounds like there was just some miscommunication in this case, but I can understand the frustration.
  8. Just a note and all, not everyone's looking to become a professional artist, some just like to do art for fun. All the advice in the world about how to be a professional doesn't do much good for someone who really only wanted to show a gift for a friend and instead gets an earful of unasked for critique 'because it will help' that discourages them
  9. Heh, somethings are way outside my monetary and attention span capabilities, but hopefully you're getting some orders out of the sale!
  10. I admit, when I post here, 99% of the time, its wanting to share some art I got/bought, sometimes done by artists here, and anyone critiquing it would points against them for being rude.

The few times I post original art, I'll be honest, I'm not interested in what professional/paid artists and self styled art experts think because I'm not willing to put the effort required into actually trying to get better through practice, its more a occasionally making forward progress while wandering about thing
  11. Personally, I'd PM the artist and ask if they wanted critique, and if so, do it through PM. Unless the topic specifically asks for feedback, I think its bad form for someone to critique what is being presented as a finished piece. WIPs, eh, I dunno, I would think comment/critique would be okay, but again, safer to PM the artist.

  13. Heh, no prob LJ, was busy with Dragon*Con all weekend, when my brain solidifies from goo I'll try to remember to see when's a good time for that
  14. Busy weekend, but yes, with the awesomeness of art!
  15. Very cool Not especially a fan of the Timm style for my characters, but that's good cause I have no money or space for action figures
  16. Well if you want to keep up a list, everything of mine is in my ref folder for now and constantly getting updated with characters, costumes, and wiki links
  17. Kai

    Terra in color

Hugo graciously allowed me to pay him to color the awesome sketch he did of Terra Aureus, thought I would share

    Terra

    A Question...

It can be good for RP too, a player liked one of my character's costumes and asked if I minded them stealing it, I didn't and it worked out for some RP fun in the manner of a shady drycleaner selling a 'lost' outfit to a fan
  19. Now there's an idea...the hat shop in the mall says they'll embroider any image you give them...
  20. Lady Judgement's piece titled Robot Love is a commission of mine of Dark-wave/Lina and Yellowjacket (X, STINGER, same guy, different suits)/Jimmy on Virtue, and yes its all mushy and kissyfaced, not often you find the love of your life after strings of emotional disaster by dimensional accident :7

    Happily in Love

Yay, its done! Lady J's wonderful art of Jimmy and Lina, otherwise known as Yellowjacket and Dark-wave. Needed to share

  22. Its very comic specific, but still great advice I don't know if you've done enough to write up a bit about commissioning through dA, but you might consider adding it
  23. You know I never really paid attention to what Parz looked like too much, but that's just exactly him in pose and stance :7
  24. I keep strange odd things like 3D glasses and diffraction glasses cause its fun...I don't suppose you remember around what version those drivers were, or was that before forceware driver packs?
