The Magus Sekhet has been reborn in her bloodline from the time of ancient Egypt, a force of arcane might against those who would abuse it. Within her mind are held mysterious and terrifying spells drawing power from planes of existence both exotic and dangerous, long since lost to the common world.

Mallory grew up with adventure in her blood, inherited from a father who refused to let the spirit of pulp novels, exploration, and getting your hands dirty from unconventionally saving the day die. In the modern era though, adventure(!) is hard to find, even for a tomboy with mom's magic in her blood and dad's guns on her hips....if you look hard enough though you can find it, and Mal found herself in Praetoria, listening to the dying words of her other self. Doing her best to live a life hers but not, she's starting to feel something altogether scary and strange...homesickness.

Most my characters fall into hybrid origins. Jae is a tech almost-idiot savant, she's also a mutant, most of her abilities are mutation but some are tech based. Black Symphony is two people sharing space, only one exists physically at any time. Zeke is learning magic, Azkythe is teaching him, but she's demonic, technically for her its natural. Roxy Acetylene is stated as magic because she was using alchemical constructs, but it was fueled by her blood which is mutant in nature. In most cases I pick 'if someone else were to classify based on evidence visual or otherwise, into what bin would they sort them?'

Its a great group, and there's even some alt play on blueside with Ares Syndicate if you like us

1)Group dynamic. How does the existing group player wise get along? How do they react to new people? How is the ooc chatter? People have to be welcoming and have fun or whatever the group is about is moot.
2)RP. It has to be there because OOC is boring to me but it doesn't have to be constant. Not all RP is great....when you spend more time RPing one on one to further plot that running things open to groups, bad. When everything has to be huge and epic and everyone has to be the biggest baddest richest most dangerous famous person out there affecting the whole world or something, bad. When missing a night causes you to be completely shut out of RP in a plot, bad.
3)Requirements. I don't use voice chat. I don't want to wear an SG uniform unless the character was designed with that in mind. I can't promise a minimum per week activity level.
4)Not full of 'an SG for every alt' players. I have a few, but if you just want a thematic home and don't really participate...
5)Not run on the 20/80 rule. One or two people in the SG don't do all the work of keeping things active and fun, people who expect SGs to provide everything to them on demand without contributing anything irk me.

Pretty much...we used to have a monthy writing thing...if I remember I'll try to start that back up come October, they were always fun to read

Most heavy RP SGs don't really actively recruit on the board, the signal to noise ratio is really low. I'd say your best bet would be to look through the directory, put ((Looking for Heavy RP SG)) in your bio when you are out and about in game and see who you run into whose style you like. Both groups I'm a part of have posts in the directory, so can't offer much more than that myself

Kai was built as dual pistol/gravity control for the Cape anniversary AE arc. I was totally mad jealous of my alter ego....grav/kin just isn't as cool after seeing myself hit a dude with Gravity Distortion followed by Executioner's Shot....

Well I don't give up on the characters, but I have like 27 of them...if the social group for one up and vanishes...the ones that have people to talk to push to the foreground and its hard to go break out the other and find new RP when RP is right there with a different character.

Would be a little odd, yeah, but then again I tend to go tromping around on my own path through dA and most aren't CoH-centric artists so I always consider it a job well done if a bunch of CoHers commission stuff from an artist after I do

And really, price has nothing to do with art, my soft cap for single character art is close to 5 booster packs lets say but I love everything I've gotten probably just as much as someone with three figure budgets loves their own gallery....so long as you love the art you have and the artist knows you love it, who cares what anyone else thinks about you or them

The problem with retcon is a lot of times those relationships have defined the character in many ways...Sadly I usually just end up playing different characters. Guess that could be a weakness too, I am far more inclined to play the characters with social connections than the ones without.

Strengths...well formed characters with depth who are easy to talk to and speak in their own 'voices.
Weaknesses...I can't RP with characters who live in a different 'world' as mine do. Even the silly ones don't get too far away from normal/serious. For a long time I had a serious ninjitsu based character and running across people with dumb/silly ideas of how ninjas in the City of world just irritated me, once a character referred to Vocaloid as an interest and someone decided to go off about how they exist in the City of world as AIs and it pretty much ruined the RP for me....stuff like that

Permits, licenses, renters contracts....Terra climbed the stares to her designated office in the newly christened Ares Syndicate complex. A white suit jacket and a pair of vampyri goggles sat on the desk and she chuckled, there was growing collection of souvenirs decorating the perimeter wall of the courtyard and some of the renters had taken to adding counts underneath them. Dropping the folder in her hands onto the desk, she turned on the TV.

The news was the usual idiocy and she ignored it until she heard 'Guardian Angels'. Watching the report, she shook her head. "F***ing idiots...wonder who they pissed off this time...maybe I should mail them a picture for that frame..."

I'm so sorry SpaceNut I can't think of much else to say besides that that doesn't sound trite to me. I hope you and your family support each other through this, and come out closer.

Funny angle and that was a small desk, she's only about 7 pounds :7 That was the glare of 'excuse me, you are invading my personal space trying to use your trackball' caught on camera while I was playing CoH there

I have since changed desks and location in the house, but the sentiment is still there, the empty space for the trackball is obviously there for the cat to sit in

Blaize - Kenna would be an ethereal winged female form made of golden flame, transitioning to orange at the edges

Black Symphony - Eziekel/Zeke, a dark figure as if covered in black paint, abstract sigils and designs in intense colors snaking around, intensifying and then fading, across his skin, wearing a bright magenta collar tied by a bright magenta cord with a black afterimage to Azkythe/Az, naked aside from broken bits of black chain and a matching bright magenta collar, eyes glowing magenta and demonic wings whole instead of torn

Roxy Acetylene - Constantly shifting there/not there white plasmic flame, glimpses of a bright shining black core and strands of bright red hair out of the corner of the eyes

Kyle Rymes - Much like himself, with long braided hair wearing a black mandarin shirt with frayed seams where sleeves were removed, blood stained hand wraps and eyes always in shadow, irises a gold-red

DJ Facade - a blank white humaniod figure, a kalidescopic array of evershifting colors where a face should be

Killswitch Nine/Raze - Pretty much like Raze, a barcode tattoo encircling his neck, clothing and weapons shifting with the setting but weapons always present

India Ink - A ink-line female human form

Valerie Vincent - Dressed in a post apocalyptic excuse for a uniform blazoned New Chicago Security Force but otherwise the same

Wyld Fyre - Jae would look like herself, in faded bellbottom jeans, a short sleeved shirt cut short at the midriff, long auburn red hair falling in big curls from a headband, an assortment of tech parts drift around her, wherever she steps it leaves an echo of energy, she's a very transparant girl who's never seen the need to be anyone but herself.

Terra Aureus - A statuesque female warrior with sword, wearing an iron circlet and possessing a commanding aura. Her dress would shift to something appropriate for the area/setting but maintaining the role as vigilante protector.

Dark-wave - Lina is a psi, and would appear as a semi-transparent purple tinged image of herself, not much more than an outline with a slight glow, with a network of fine iridescent threads running off into places connected to her

Kai is Kai, she is her idealized self :7

Bya-ko - She would appear as a slightly built white tiger with jade green eyes...she is the result of an unsanctioned relationship within a patriarchal planned family...one of the tigers, but not quite the same as the rest or quite as strong.

Masterminds. I fail at masterminds so hard. I get distracted, forget who is which, and generally feel like I have been handed a bullhorn and a sheet of directions with which to try and herd an angry mob.

Tankers. This one...I don't know, I just can't seem to find the right concept to stick with one. I have one right now, something energy, I've actually forgotten her primary who I hope will break that

Defenders. They frustrate me a lot. I have a dark/dark who I am slowly crawling towards another level with, only because I like her concept, and will be trying a dp/traps soon.

I am trying out my very first brute in Praetoria, so we'll see how that goes
