Now I want to make a StJ/SR Scrapper named Chirpterapractor... -
Yeah, looks like we've finally found an item I won't buy. Well, I suppose I didn't buy the Halloween costumes (PPD hardsuit, carnies, etc.), but yeah, this isn't even remotely useful to me at that price, or even half of it.

Following the GM Screen character creation rules for the moment. Will probably slide the level up as I go to keep things less confusing (I ended up going to bed early instead of actually getting things done, which has lead to me beating my alarm clock by two hours)
-
I mean, I guess I could just go and start statting all of my characters for Mutants and Masterminds
-
Something... else?
What is that... what is... Why are you... -
I went through the arcs on my +3 Broadsword/Regen/Mu Scrapper (Read: Flying death engine; Did missions solo where given the option without realizing there would be badges involved). Out of six reward tables, I picked the Component every time. Except for Mu'Vorkan's table, all of them were Commons. Mu'Vorkan netted me an uncommon. Is it not actually possible to get a rare/VR component from these arcs, or is it just extremely... well, rare?

Quote:I'm going to go with that. The gal that Wade sends after you at the end of WWD 6 is his right-hand gal. I imagine he probably figured that she was tough enough to take on the player hero. Granted, I'll point out that my Scrapper kindasorta killed her in five attacks. And I'd left my helper NPC behind by accident. But he's had more than seven years of tweaks and alterations to turn him into a god-slaying monster of a man, I'd be willing to bet that a lot of characters would have some issues taking on that assassin alone.Maybe we're just that good that we make them look incompetent?
Just because you take her out like she's nothing doesn't mean she's incompetent. It just means you are out of her league at this point. -

I similarly agree, we totally need more Judgements. If only to cater to more character types than "Hyper cosmically powered arcane demigod" (which kinda accounts for a few of my characters, admittedly...). Sometimes, people just want to play dudes with guns, and the fact is that none of the Judgement powers really cater to this.
Also, I'd really like the ability to just straight up punch the ground and send stone shrapnel flying up in a wide area. Or to leap into orbit, then come back down, Buddhist Palm-style (skip to 7:50). Y'know, in addition to the suggestions in my link -
For the Soldier of Arachnos costume - The ability to roll helmetless. Widows get this, why not Soldiers? Also, maybe the ability to use other logos on the armor plate. So that I'm not walking around with a spider-shaped target on my chest.

Nah, not as an EB. As a Giant Monster that shows up when enough people are in one place

Damn brother welcome back and I didn't hear it on the TA channel as I now work overnights and miss most of it but it's great to see ya again man!
Now to get the rest of the old school TA crew back here...

Quote:My my, now THIS is a name I haven't seen in...I used to play this a long time ago.
I played largely on Justice and posted in the Justice forums as well as general discussion, blasters, suggestions and sundry.
I'm back and trying to get in touch with some of the folks that I played with a number of years ago.
The Legendary Living Hellfire flies again!

Actually, I suppose that's also the name of the Tier 7 Demon Summoning pet.
Still! Been too long, friend, been too long -

Quote:Man, that just reminds me of a character I wanted to make. An Invul/SS Tanker named Elder Statesman. Essentially, he'd wear the Statesman costume... Minus pants. Because he's old, senile, and doesn't remember 1) Who he actually is, 2) Where he actually is, 3) *When* he actually is, or 4) Where he left them.Though Statesman is dead...
His dream lives on...
Not in his granddaughter, but in...
HIS SON
*dun dun dun*
Hidden away in some forgotten temple, young [insert name] discovered his vast superhuman strength and control over the force of lightning. Adopted by [insert rich company CEO] who had need of an heir, the boy grew up filthy rich and spoiled to life etc etc whatever
Basically Stateson (d'oh ho ho), wearing his father's top, but jeans as bottoms and slick boots. Everyone will hate him immediately.
Because there's not a single thing insane or dangerous about giving phenomenal powers to an old man with a going memory. Not a single thing. -
Prima Ombra, my flagship villain, is primarily in the villainy thing because he enjoys a good dust up, whether it be with heroes, other villains, or whatever. He views himself as a weapon, primarily because he was originally made to be one. That said, he's intelligent enough that, while he may be a weapon, he rather likes to be the hand that wields that weapon. A weapon wants nothing more than to take part in battle, and the path of villainy seems the most likely to put him into the path of battle.

That was a really rambly way of saying "Dude loves to fight, and fights at every given opportunity" -

Quote:So... Earth/Energy Dom? With the Energy Mastery APP? Also, you'd think Fusionette's crazy inattentiveness would be tempered by Faultline's inability to move at a pace greater than "Casual Walk"The mind boggles... hmmm.
Oh. I know.
The child of Faultline and Fusionette. With her mother's energy powers and her father's earth powers, she has an attention span of a hummingbird on crack. She can pluck boulders from the ground, convert them to pure energy and then hurl them at her opponents. She also taps into ley lines beneath the earth and manipulates them by will alone, causing them to erupt from the ground in exploding shards.
Her name?
Power Spike.

Okay, so the main complaint I'm seeing here is that this is another "Guys with Guns" set. I suppose this is a valid complaint. For the minion level pets, which are SWAT guys. Neither of the Lieutenant level pets have guns of any description. I suppose the boss would have the built in minigun that Hardsuits use. And lasers. Lots of lasers. And the Energy Melee punchy powers.
From my perspective, the idea of this set is to provide a larger variety of outgoing damage than most, if not all, of the other MM primaries.
All of this said, I wouldn't be opposed to having multiple selectable "bodies" for MM pets (Longbow, PPD, Family, etc. for Mercs; Hellions, Skulls, Warriors, etc. for Thugs; Tsoo, old Chimera ninjas, etc. for Ninjas) -
I don't see that. There is a large variety of powers across the PPD. Really, the only part of this that is like Mercs is the minion level, which in and of itself differentiates itself really quickly. That said, if you have some thought that could further differentiate it, by all means speak up!

I had an idea for a PPD Mastermind the other day while talking to a bunch of people on Justice about something I can't adequately recall. Rather than continue on a tangent, let's just get into the powers ideas
* The weapon for this set would be a shotgun (slug, buckshot, beanbag).
* Minion level pets would be the SWAT team minions going in order from basic SWAT to Stealth SWAT to traps SWAT (I honestly can't remember their names).
* Lieutenant level pets would be a PPD Psi Cop and a Peacebringer cop.
* Boss level pet would be a PPD Hardsuit.
* Upgrade one would add various AoE powers (frag grenades, psychic scream, etc.), upgrade two would add the more unique powers for each pet (Heavy Burst for the SWAT, Sniper Rifle for the Ghost, Glue Grenade for the Equalizer [Yes, I remembered their names mid-post and don't feel like going back to fix it]; Drain Psyche for the Psi Cop, Nova form for the Peacebringer; Heavy laser burst for the Hardsuit and/or full auto)
* Tier 7 power is up in the air in my head - It could be a Gang War-style power (Riot Deployment - summons a bunch of PPD officers with clubs and riot shields). It could also be like Serum (Superior Firepower - PBAoE Damage/To Hit buff). Or, it could be something out of left field, like a toggle power (Riot Phalanx - Def/Res buff for nearby pets).
All of this is open for nitpicking and suggestions. By all means, pick this idea to shreds, provided you provide some manner of thread to patch it up in the form of other ideas -
Quote:She didn't get kidnapped. She offered to go look in a place that had Lost in it for him, and she was taking too long to check back in, so he got help. At the time this occurred, he was worried about his powers going out of control like his father's had years earlier. You get the mission standing in the results of said power meltdown. The fact that a hero happens past enables him to ask for help. By the next time we encounter him after the Faultline arcs, he's following her directly into these near-suicidal situations without a second thought. So, yes, based on the first encounter we have with him, you are exactly right. Based on the character progression, however, he becomes someone a lot better.Actually, I'm hoping for the opposite. I want the devs to break them up. I mean, come on. Jim's girlfriend gets kidnapped and is in mortal danger, so he... stands there waiting for a hero to come by and rescue her?
Oh, hells no. She deserves someone a lot better. Can you imagine when they're 80 years old? "Honey, I've fallen and I think I might have broken my hip!" "Wow, that sucks, sweetie pie. I'll just walk outside and wait around for a while. Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will stop who can call 911 for you."
What an angsty jerk.
So yeah, my original point still stands. -
Quote:Whoa whoa whoa there, what do you think this is? Issue 2? We don't get arcs that long anymore! And hunt missions are kinda out of styleHow about this? Make the entire wedding into an uber-huge story arc...
(This is a slight reworking of an idea I'd had like 4 years ago back when Manti and Psyche got married)
1) At least two missions sending you to all the different Tailors to find the right outfit (first in your size, and then in stock)
2) Stopping a jewelry store from being robbed (which just happens to be the one where the happy couple bought their rings, which are now stolen, oh no!)
3) Track down and beat the snot out of whoever stole the rings
4) The Carnival of Shadows has bought all the good shoes for women, so go stomp on 40 of them until you find a CoS chick with the right size feet and swipe her shoes
5) Someone's abducted the officiant... go save that poor sap
6) Go fight certain groups to collect certain types of salvage to invent 'the perfect wedding gift'
7) Oh crud, now the bride and groom have gone off to fight danger, go bail them out so they can get to the wedding
8) Timed mish to get to the wedding on time, with at least five groups out to stop you, and no travel powers work (because isn't that always the world works?)
The possibilities are endless...

Admittedly, I think it would be nice if there were a Fusionette/Faultline wedding event, similar to the Manticore/Psyche one from a few years back. What can I say? I'm a big softie sometimes
