Yeah, I turned off quills, but I still faceplanted a lot. Go figure. Slow enhancers only increase movement slow, not attack speed debuff, so I wasn't slotting for it.

Yep, quite a bit, thanks.
Any tips when it's not alpha damage, but more that when I do run in, I pull enough aggro that the beta damage overwhelms me?
I often end up in teams with a lot of regen and SR scrappers and no tanker for whatever reason, and as such I tend to be the only taunt aura in the place, even if i'm not taking alpha. One of the coalition types who tosses together a lot of teams I can get in just happens to have that kind of team composition when they're on, it seems like. -
Having a bit of trouble with my Spine/WP (currently 26) and could use advice; Solo I rip things up great. In larger teams though, I faceplant A LOT. I have a sneaking suspicion that the cause is RttC; my theory is that without it, I just don't have the regen or defenses to hang, but with it I pull extra aggro that overcomes my regen. I have the entire secondary to this point, Swift, Health, no Stamina yet; Kick but no Tough yet; RTTC has 3 Heal, resist toggle is is 1 end,1 res; the level 1 auto is 1 heal as is quick heal.
Is there any technique I can use to help my survivability in bigger teams, change in slotting, or something that I should make sure to pick up asap? Or is it just something I should learn to live with? -
Sorry, but i've been in several RPSG's and they all go out of their way to say that 'there's always something going on', and when I get up and have not much to do besides RP, there's never a soul on.
-
Does anybody know if there are any RPSG's or RPVG's that are hoppingly active at say, 6:00 AM Pacific (9 AM Eastern) or earlier through the next few hours?
And no, 'Oh, it seems like there's always someone on' is NOT a good answer; i've gotten that answer several times. Yes, your RPSG DOES go bone dead for half of the day, even if there are people on when you get on and log off. Everyone else hasn't been on all that long, and will be leaving not that long after you leave for the night. Quit telling people that there will people to RP with when they are sitting at their computer having needed to get up early to get work and before they need to actually leave, if they are leaving; it's a lie, even if it might be unintentional. -
Hm, what other 'non-traditional' secondaries might work well with Ice Armor?
-
Resistance is more stable. You get hit all the time, but you trudge through. So many effects negate Defense that things can death spiral rapidly. YThe invuln laughs at missions full of Sky Raiders. Defense characters are a bit more nervous, because they go through a couple rooms just fine, then a couple people hit them close together and suddenly all their defense is gone and they're full of unmitigated hails of bullets.
-
My usual issue comes from Controllers splashing their AOE Immobilize everywhere when everything is scattered everywhere.
-
My DA scrap uses CJ and two KB protect IO's instead of CoD; I can see them just fine; you might consider doing the same if CoD is your turn-off.
Have you looked at Invuln? While you aren't big on resist sets, the ability to cap S/L without a single IO is pretty extreme, and it has a decent amount of defense too. Lately, Invuln is also the king of not concealing your character; most of the effects can be turned off. Good at aggro management, too, Invincibility pulls pretty strongly. -
Yes, the regen kicks in at full. However, in the meantime, everything spins around and hits you as hard as they can, at the same time, and that often means that your hp yoyos below zero for a bit.. which means you fall over. Same issue that relying on healing always has had.
-
Probably not.. but i'd expect a duo of them to have accomplished quite a bit.
-
Quote:That there is the catch. I try to avoid inviting Empaths who I don't already know, because the chances of finding one who knows how to use their powers is so miniscule.the general feeling was that "ALL" Empaths do is spam heals and provide nothing of benefit to a team these days. Okay I admit there are "bad" Empaths out there running around with their Healing Aura on auto and thinking that's all they need to do to assist the team. That said and out of the way... Empathy, when used properly, is one of the best buffing sets out there.
-
I'm well aware of how to set up a stun-stacking MA/DA. I just find that stuns annoy the heck out of me, I don't like the playstyle, and I like the Terrify angle a lot. So, thanks, but i'll be fine without remaking my build to be like an iteration I tried and disliked.
-
Well no, for someone unsure what I was asking, you pretty much answered the question well there. =)
-
I'll just have to admit that I haven't really wrapped my brain around set bonuses and building for IO's and such...
Here's my scrapper, respecced - I don't know that the order of powers are right, but the slotting is how I had it when I ran out of inf. (the Abs Amaze I don't actually have yet, either..)
Not sure if there's any tweaking I should do to get it to work with sets better - I know it functions the way I want, though, and I use all the powers there with the general slotting shown to good effect, it's how I worked it to where I like it - but the sets confuse me is all. I understand using a set in a power, I understand the principle of set bonuses, I just don't 'see' the builds with them. Not sure how everyone else does it.
yes, those are some SO's, like I said, bank broke.

I'm levelling and i'm on a budget, so I can only get a few IO sets for starters and very little that's top end for now (i'll respec later when I have the budget for better IOs).. does anyone have a good build for a shield tanker with dark melee?
-
I rolled one; i'd be playing it, except that I need to okay some *RP* stuff with my SG leader, since it's a reroll of a character whom they actually kicked the backside of the boss of and they probably have some issues there, ICly..
I'll let you know though. -
I suggest that as your character after THAT that you bite the bullet and make something like a Storm/Energy or some such thing. Knockback is really very useful and helpful once you get past the 'zomg i have to hit r key nao' silliness. I've never had any issues with knockback used around my scrapper, save for on rare occasion.
-
Rerolling a Traps/AR Corruptor as a Defender, so I can actually RP with the people she was made to RP with.
I'unno what else though. -
I rather like it; it has a big AOE and around the time that the enemies start recovering from my full necro jumping into them with GE and IA, the ones I haven't gotten to yet are chewed and gnawed and easier to finish off.
-
The first character I was able to solo effectively with was a Defender. I eventually got a Scrapper to 50, but only after I got used to his squishiness. But in general? Scrappers bore me. I've tried a Blaster a few times and it's boring and frustrating. Your problem is probably a personal style issue.
-
I noticed it..
Still off in that Defender secondaries DO synergize, so long as you aren't using something like Fire Blast or Archery. -
Oh, this rubbish again? You do realize that if we could do this that it would be like the prenerf Regen Scrappers again, right? Imagine a bunch of people running around with regen similar to Regen's panic button, 24/7; more defense than a SR scrapper; endless endurance, full mez protection, and the ability to more or less use their Tier 9 Nuke as a part of their standard attack chain? Because that's what a self-buffing Empath can pull off.
