10 million bet anyone? I need to win my money back!

Website, 3pm sharp today. Announcement post at 2.15pm.

    I dont have 10mil

I'd have thought that was a little on the early side for the US devs. Let them get a breakfast and the first gallon of coffee/jolt/caffeine-drink-of-their-choosing inside them first...

    GR update

    [ QUOTE ]
This could be done here as well. The Rogue Isles became a gameworld on its own, who's to say Praetoria can't be too?
But that would then also mean a whole new bundle of powersets (two we know, now let's guess about the rest..)

    [/ QUOTE ]
It wouldn't require any new powersets or ATs at all.

It already appeared that dual pistols and demon summoning were coming in GR rather than any issue before it, as we got given the 1st glimpse of them in the initial GR trailer.

Why put teasers of what would be old powers (by the release) in the trailer for a new expansion? You probably wouldn't. So DP and DS weren't likely to appear before GR, although they may appear in an issue synchronous with GR release.

Although if we're getting those 2 then I'd guess that there may be others (or at least a big batch of power proliferation in the issues before/synchronous with GR). It's also a fair guess that there may be a spy AT unless it's abilities have morphed into some new spy powers/functionality that any AT can use in the right circumstances.
  3. Funny you should ask that; was thinking about TR only yesterday - partly as I thought it may be time to uninstall it to get back the disk space.
  4. Best use of Zenith hoverbot technology yet.
  5. Only if we are all nice - and I can't promise that.

Apologies in advance if that stops him giving us more info later today.

Now this is just annoying.. Seriously annoying..
I have four accounts. Three are mine, one is my son's.
I went and bought three packs. So far so good. Lo and behold, what is happening now ? I can't get a fourth right now! And here's why:

    [ QUOTE ]
As a security measure we limit individual online serial code purchases. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please try again later. If you have further questions please visit this Support Center article Online Code Purchase Limits.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I really dislike this . I'm just glad I upgraded my son's account before I did all three I use. Be warned if you want more than three packs..

    [/ QUOTE ]
The stupid thing with this is that you can be making the purchases on the same card that's been used for months/years for the account subscriptions and it still won't let you buy more than 3 in a short space of time.

It also doesn't tell you what the time limit is for the counter to be reset.

It's why I still have 1 account without the magic booster - after being locked out by the limit on transactions I really couldn't be bothered to keep going back and retrying to purchase. But then NC have suggested before that they have a peculiar aversion to letting customers make purchases.
  8. I'd expect the bug to be on every server if they're all running the same software.

And you may not have seen it mentioned EU side as I suspect that fewer people are running the STF due to having the new TF to play with and people knowing about the tower bug and so not even trying the STF. I've seen 2 STFs abandoned before they started after I told them about the bug - and I know it's been mentioned a couple of times on a couple of the big English-speaking TF/badge channels (Sals and Defiant Events).

Best bet is to just avoid setting up a MoSTF attempt until we know it's fixed rather than risk a good run scuppered by a bug.

Im hoping for a screenshot of a new villain TF or some new content.

[/ QUOTE ]Although I16 is PC, it's possible they might give us a little bit more info about GR - I hope, anyway

    [/ QUOTE ]
I thought that all we have seen/been told about I16 is:[*] it isn't GR[*] it appears that fire imps can be recoloured in at least 2 colours[*] we get more info in July

Posi's twitter now says that there's more info this week.

So unless it slipped by me, we haven't actually been told:[*] that I16 contains full power customisation (although it seems reasonabl;e that at least ful power colour-customisation will be part of it).[*] that Power Customisation will be the major part (i.e. most/all) of I16.[*] whether or not I16 will include any dev mission content (including TFs in that).

So unless I missed something (or you know pertinant info that the rest of us don't) it's a bit misleading to state that 'I16 is PC' or to imply that new villain TF/new content would not be part of I16 and would only be mentioned if GR was discussed.
  10. Judgement_Dave

    Posi on twitter

The coloured imps post stated more news in July, and the twitter says more news this week, but it's possible that there wil be several news releases re: I16. So whilst I hope we'll get more info on most of it this week, I'm not holding out for anything more than a few reveals with promises of more info in a few weeks time.

Of course, if there is more info this week there'll probably be anothe rround of web interviews that drops a few more tidbits/teasers that aren't mentioned in the initial release.

I've tried to create teams at varying times and am finding the numbers dwindling each time I do so.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Bad luck?
    Summer holidays?
People don't want to team with you???

There may be many reasons why this has happened - not all of them due to the MA.

Your statement is too subjective to comment on further.
    [ QUOTE ]

I've put 'no farms/powerlevelling/fills' in my search and still I get invites to MA farms.

    [/ QUOTE ]
You know by now that few people read the search comments. Not sure if due to plain rudeness or a lack of reading/comprehension skills.

    [ QUOTE ]

The MA is moved to Talos Island and above. And not right next to the station but somewhere difficult to get to (perhaps not Circe Island...)

    [/ QUOTE ]
Surely if you want to dissuade people from using the MA then the SE corner of DA or hidden away in the shadow shards would be more effective.

The buildings are fine where they are.

The main non-architectural objections I've seen raised to MA building placement are that they shouldn't be in starter zones due to the impression that new players get when assailed by a tidal wave of farming spam and blind invites.

This isn't a problem of having the AE building in starter zones, but is a side effect of MA farms being far more populated than many other in-game activies. The question is why are the MA farms so popular and creating so much spam?

If the MA farms are only popular as they are:
[*] too easy (little/no risk for good rewards)
Then the devs need to crack down on the farms. They've already stated that MA is not intended to be used as a farm tool.
    [*] great fun
Then it's tough if you are a player who doesn't want MA farms. If 99% of the playerbase actually enjoy MA farms and given a choice of doing anything ingame would play them because they're fun, who has the right to try nerfing that fun?

Of course, whilst some people will fall into this category, I don't believe this is the case for most players...

There's also the case that if the 99% of players enjoy farms but get bored and leave the game after their 1st month and several 50s, then, for the longterm good of the game, the devs ought to stop the farms to try getting back to longer-term subscribers.
[*] the only game in town (everyone else is doing it and I can get a team doing it)
Then the teams were still being organised/started/run by someone - and that person, if not the rest of the team, will be doing it because it's either the most fun they have or it's too easy with a skewed risk/reward.

If it's because the risk/rewards are unbalanced then address this and many of the farmers would retreat back to PI with the teams of mini fire/kins.

    [ QUOTE ]

Mobs are 'unlocked' by experiencing the levels at which they appear. So rather than being a level 1 and able to create a Carnie mish, that group should become available at level 30.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Not really practical in stopping anything without changes elsewhere.

MA arcs are created by account, not by character. So it should go off highest level character on the account (e.g. a lvl1 could create a Carnie mish if they had a lvl30+ on their account).

But - we already know that currently a character can do 1-50 in practically no time using MA farms. So a lvl restriction would not harm anyone who used MA to PL. It would only stop people who played the game the old way and took weeks/months to level. Looked at this way this suggestion becomes a punishment for those playing in a way you find acceptable (e.g. only standard dev-content) and almost a further incentive to race to 50 (and maybe use MA farms).

    [ QUOTE ]

I can honestly say that people 'playing how they want to play, it's their money' is ruining my enjoyment of the game.

I believed there was going to be some kind of crackdown on it but there hasn't been one yet. If there's one thing worse than having to issue a threat, it's not following through on said threat.

    [/ QUOTE ]
And they can play how they want to play. It's the devs/GMs responsibility to try and balance possible styles of play to ensure that all the players can have fun and no subset of players ruins the game of another subset.

Going off dev comments, the speed of PLing/farming with MA arcs that seriously skew their ideas of an acceptable risk/reward ratio is seen as 'bad for the game' and something that the devs want to discourage and possibly stop.

The threatened/promised crackdown (potentially going as far as character deletion and account bans) never seemed to arrive. Some action may have been taken, but the general player base don't know about it so it doesn't act as a deterrent to others.

Carrying out some actions against characters/accounts and making the actions known to the public could work wonders for stemming the tide of MA 1-50 PLing in a 2hr farm featuring the latest exploit. Sure, there'd be some fallout of players throwing fits that NC/PS would do such a thing. It's just a question of weighing up whether the fallout hurts the game more than 1-50 in hours/days followed by boredom would.

BTW - it's weeks ago now that the announcement threatening character deletion/account bans was made. Whilst there was a furore at the time about the possibility of retrospective punishment there could be no such uproar at action taken against characters/accounts who have been continuing to blatantly PL in the MA.
  12. [ QUOTE ]
I would like to see the removal of all Hamidon-related mobs (i.e. Mitochondria, etc).

    I don't see why they're in there.
    They serve no purpose.

Family at 40-54 also make no sense to me. Yes there's one mission later on set in 'Family World' but that's it.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Purpose and need for certain mobs varies from one person to another, even if just for authors writing story arcs as the devs intended.

But the Hamidon related mobs are odd in that they are supposedly oversized organelles of a single-celled organism (Hami). As such I don't think they can survive outside the cell and shouldn't exist as seperate entities that can be placed without a full Hamidon.

But even there, I don't really have a problem with leaving them in - though they really should have seperate rewards table/scale for use in MA so that risk/reward can be balanced for mobs appearing in odd situations (e.g. to drop/remove the Hami organelle rewards in MA whilst leaving them as is in the dev content).

BTW - thinking like the OP that lead to the removal/reintroduction/re-removal of Prisoners that really messed one of my arcs about. I flat out object to the removal of assets once introduced, when they can be left in for story-telling but have the rewards cut/removed. This is a computer game, the rewards are just data. Setting up a seperate reward scale/rate for MA is not an impossible task.

You can get purples from 47. So stopping xp at any of the last 3 levels is beneficial.

    [/ QUOTE ]

and the fact it IS beneficial is so amazingly stupid it's unbelievable. For...cryin'... out... LOUD!!!!

..also you'd get more inf etc being a lvl 47 on the lvl 50 missions... every single mission...

    [/ QUOTE ]
It's actually worse than that iirc.

You can get purple drops at any level, if you can get rewards from a defeated foe and the foe is high enough to drop lvl50 rewards. This means that the foe (and not the player character) has to be lvl47+.

So you could stop xp at lvl45 and be a 45 on lvl 50 missions and get better inf rewards and have a chance at purple recipes.

Of course you can't slot the purple enhancements until you're 50.
  14. I forgot that they'd altered it so you could change patron pool, though you may not want to for RP purposes...

The issue is that you can't see what powers are available in the PPPs. Without scrolling all you can see is most of the first power in the set - which is hardly useful info for comparing the 4 pools.

So it's still annoying that you have to make a decision ingame that selects a power pool without being able to see what powers are in the pool.

    MA feedback

    [ QUOTE ]
Does the whole "feedback from noob vr training arc" thingy kind of tell.

So the new feedback system again only works if your on the same side of the globe

    [/ QUOTE ]
As you hadn't quoted the phrase in the OP it was unclear as to whether that was the title of the tell or just a general statement meaning you received feedback on the named arc. It's still not entirely clear from your posts.

Presumably if you've received feedback on the wrong account (and using a system that should now be defunct) you've /bugged it.
  16. Judgement_Dave

    MA feedback

If you're still receiving them are they global tells from Architect Entertainment (or whatever the automated comment forwrder was called) or from the player's own global accounts?

If the latter it may be that the player is sending the comment as a normal tell to your global.

If I know that the author is an EU player I've been known to do this if there are several minor points (typos etc) that I don't usually mark against the arc but think the author would want to know about and have the chance to correct.

Perhaps if there was an EU server called Aristocracy?

There was. You obviously missed the revolution when the server was deposed, taken outside, shot and buried in an unmarked shallow grave

So that's what happened to the Russian language server...
  18. Ah - I only had one villain above 40 before last week, and the plaques were fine when he hit 40 (about a month before VEATs went live iirc).

If it's old it may help explain why I didn't spot a thread on it and it didn't ring any bells.
  19. Noticed this today, both on a MM and a Corruptor: When you see Arbiter Rein and he tells you to look at the patron plaques they aren't scrolling vertically, and show no scroll bar widget to drag to scroll the window contents.

In both cases, the 1st one I opened and looked at (GW for the MM, Scirocco for my corr) showed the scroll widget and was scrollable, but then when I opened the others, and when I came back to the first one, it was not scrollable.

Very annoying, given that you can't repick patron and so you need to see the info about the patron pools to make a decision with lasting effects.

what is BSC?....i only know GMT and PST, and i'm using GMT only.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No idea where you got the BSC from - the times in the OP only mention BST. Was it a typo??

    BST = British Summer Time = GMT+1

    So the times become:
Starting Friday July 17th (4pm BST, 3pm GMT) and lasting through Monday July 20th (5am BST, 4am GMT)

Trying to test an MA arc intended for teams, but I'm solo.

Suggestion: On the testing (Architect Options) allow the ability to set difficulty of next mission and the number of characters on the team. Thus adjusting spawns based on that.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I posted that this was needed during I14 beta. Still needed so signed.

And though it's a different suggestion I've also wanted min/max team sizes, as Sorudo seems to want. Be good for doing a true TF-style arc that requires a team and for solo challenges.
  22. [ QUOTE ]
    My favorite scenarios:
A gastroneurologic virus, ie a virus that slides well with any nerve cell. Infection of nerve tissue in large intestine cause severe gastroeneritis, thus making the virus spread by the fecal-oral route. Infection of nerve tissue in the brain cause neurological symptoms, long-term disabilities, insanity and death.

    Hypernova:
A star with a mass of more than 15 suns burns out, collapsing into a black hole and explode in a MASSIVE explosion that are orders of magnitude more powerful than a Type-2 supernova. Despite a distance of thousands of lightyears, the afterglow is bright as the sun and the earth is sterilized by gamma rays.

    More scenario ideas here: http://exitmundi.nl/

    [/ QUOTE ]
Damz did actually ask for ingame end-of-world events...

Not sure that I want to be involved in an in-game event to promote/stop the fecal-oral transmission of a gastroneurologic virus.
  23. As Coolio Woolfus says, make sure you're not defeating mobs that are too low and con grey to you.

And presumably this isn't just whilst teaming with a team member 6 or more levels higher than your character (which will stop xp gain).

Everyone will be called to action, will you answer the call?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nah. I'll be washing my hair, then doing my nails... Maybe watch a bit of TV after, or read a book. Rikti are boring, and wimps.

    [/ QUOTE ]
If you're not answering the call wil you at least leave you're answerphone on and get back to us on saving the City from destruction after the weekend?
  25. Signed.

Might even get the western end of Crey's used a little more. Crey's never was overused - but it's even worse since it became a cul-de-sac after the hazard gate was close.
