I have a character I've reactivated after a few months off line, its at level 11 nearly 12, but for some reason it's not getting xp points for killing NPC's.

What's going on???

You should check to see if you have the Earn No XP option turned on or not.

Serious? Why would an MMO game have such an option?

Ok, suprised there is such an option but I've checked it and it still says Earn XP.

Some people like to avoid getting XP too fast in case they miss some of the content.

As for your problem, was this a trial account you had at first?

No, been subscribing off and on for a few years now, no trial account

1. Check Earn XP in options is 'Enabled'
2. Double check you are not 'Defeating' Grey con mobs.
3. If it isn't those pettition support.

Nuff Said...
Coolio Wolfus leader of Coolios Crusaders on Union.
Tekna Logik leader of Teknas Tormentors on Defiant.
AE arc 402506, 'The Rise and Demise or Otherwise of Tekna Logik...'.

As Coolio Woolfus says, make sure you're not defeating mobs that are too low and con grey to you.

And presumably this isn't just whilst teaming with a team member 6 or more levels higher than your character (which will stop xp gain).

Some people don't like earning Xp too fast, yo. Lots of contacts you can outlevel, you see. More choice for the better, no?

...and of course ouroboros is not an option!
Personally I'll try turning off xp at lvl 49 just to see if the drop rate stays up, since it goes to h3ll once you're lvl 50 for no obvious or even stated reason.

although I won't get any purples that way I will at least get more drops, meaning more inf.

purples will drop for any level as long as the enemies are capable of dropping purples which is 48+ i think

@Mister
Mister Volcano lvl50 Tank SA/FM
Silver Sight lvl 50 Controller Mind/Kin
Cryogenic lvl 50 Tank Ice/Stone
Winters Night lvl 50 Corrupter Ice/Dark
Chaos Agent lvl50 Brute EM/EA

You can get purples from 47. So stopping xp at any of the last 3 levels is beneficial.

and the fact it IS beneficial is so amazingly stupid it's unbelievable. For...cryin'... out... LOUD!!!!

..also you'd get more inf etc being a lvl 47 on the lvl 50 missions... every single mission...

It's actually worse than that iirc.

You can get purple drops at any level, if you can get rewards from a defeated foe and the foe is high enough to drop lvl50 rewards. This means that the foe (and not the player character) has to be lvl47+.

So you could stop xp at lvl45 and be a 45 on lvl 50 missions and get better inf rewards and have a chance at purple recipes.

Of course you can't slot the purple enhancements until you're 50.

Singstar.
Well its true that many arcs can be run through Oreboros. However sometimes a mission or two via a contact gives a temp power.
I love the no xp button. Made things so much easier. And doing the arc via Oreboros will not grant you the contacts phone number (grrr).

It's very useful to don't skip Mayhems / Safeguards and other missions that are not on Ouroboros...

Well, I usually go for the mayhems asap. At lvl 5 PO etc. You don't make XP THAT fast (without the ma)

...and they're easy enough to get through other players anyway. The temp powers are rewarded in Ouro as well. but if you've had them, they're weaker the 2nd time around.
