  1. but folks that not the real question. The real Lord of the Rings Question, is who's mace is stronger and prettier, Saurons or the lich kings mace?
  2. I just had a STRONG and PRETTEH moment. i just recently purchased an 64 gig ipod touch. Well i own the box set of all three lord of the rings. So i get the first part of the fellowship of the ring on my precious, i mean my pod of rockness. Well i dont even get five minutes into the movie when it hit me like a ton of bricks. Saurons mace is STROOOOOOOONG AAAAAAAND thats right you guessed it PREEEETTTTTEEEEEH!!!!!!!!! that is all.....
  3. You folks are missing the best reason to take EA, its one half of the strong and pretty combination!!!!
  4. This thread is so strong and pretteh that it is two decades old!!!! STRONG AND PRETTEH RULES!!!! that is all.
  5. you have to go with what you like, im just not seeing how a heal on a 180 second timer with all the recharge reduction you have is really going to be that big of a deal with all the defense you have, and with being able to manage your insps. With frenzy, the chances of you always staying at range are nil, you are gonna get charged, that just gives you an option up close. As far as maneuvers, with your slotting and set bonuses, kinda seem s redundant, but again you have to play what you like and enjoy, so whatever "floats your boat" so to speak!
  6. i played around with the build and tweaked it a bit, actually hit the softcap on range, and made the build a bit more offensive.

However, the build would be better utilized against Battle Maiden's warriors, since they're purely s/l and IIRC they don't have a reduced xp/inf reward the way high level Freaks do.

Couple nitpicks though. First, Barb Swipe is deplorable. It's worse than Boxing from a pure DPS standpoint and I don't see how any mature Spines/* scrapper would want or use the attack. I understand you want the set bonus for 4 Kinetic Combat but it seems to me you'd be better off throwing those slots into Brawl and saving yourself a power pick.

Second, six-slotting Impale as an immobilize is sketchy. I know it's one of the only ways to get a s/l def bonus from the power, but Impale starts out with worse DPA than Ripper and Spine Burst (which kill stuff collaterally, unlike Impale), and then slotting it as an immoblize just makes it even weaker from a damage standpoint. If it weren't for the utility of Impale for immoblizing a foe in your Burn patch, I'd recommend skipping the power altogether in a S/L/melee def build, but I can see it being useful for that, if nothing else. (Besides, the last time I posted a Spines build without Impale a bunch of people wanted to lynch me for it.) Still, I find a six-slotted immoblize ...sketchy. Yeah, I said that already.

Third, although you'll do fine on farms with just the one -KB IO, I'd recommend finding ways to work one or two more into your build (or taking Acro) if you want to use the toon for general purpose missioning.

Finally, Weave would be better with 2 Enzyme HOs (for endurance reduction) or 3 Cytoskeleton HOs (again for endredux, and in case you're worried about using an "exploit"), or 3 pieces of LotG for the set bonuses.

Other than that, the build looks pretty good.
even in missions, very rarely do i ever use impale, possible to snag a spare mob, my main three attacks are spine burst, throw and ripper. This isnt just a farm build, i believe, if you keep moving enough, the final build would be very sturdy in pretty much any occasion. Even with the romans and there blessed defense debuff cascades, just jump around untill the debuffs wear off then jump back in. even with that you can still leverage damage with throw spines. With the s/l defense also as high, you will mitigate some of the ranged and aoe damage as well, (especially those roman spears).

*barb swipe is there for exactily what you said it was kinetic combat....no other reason, prolly never use it*
  15. Ok here we go, we all love our spines fire damage output, but the squishyness can get old after a while. So i decided to put together two builds. The first build is the budge build. It will get ya about 28 29ish smashing/lethal and melee defense. It should only run ya about 100 mill or so, minus the miracle i have in there. the second build is my i-have-money-to-burn-build, (five complete oblit sets and three kinetic combat sets are gonna cost ya). that build will get you 39-40 percent defense to smashing and lethal.

Now 29-30ish defense to smashing/lethal/melee is nothing to sneeze at while you get the money together to get to the 41 percent melee d that your final build will get you. Im going to go on now and make my second build and go budget and run it through my freakshow farm, let ya know how it plays......
  16. no no no....to pretty and strong to be second page.....
  17. I have 8-10ish level 50 toons, (i don't feel like counting right now) across three servers. Ive been here almost two years, Ive milked newbs like a jersey heifer, i mean played the market red-side for well over 10 bill. Blue-side i finally decided to stop being lazy and have like 1.5 bill worth of equity over all my toons (before the bank of smurfy was always open and there was no need for me to make any money blue side)., and i don't figure out until last week that i can search for recipes and IO's based upon ONLY whats for sale. That's right folks, for the last two years i have been searching EACH AND EVERY FRAGGIN SLOT, to see if a recipe or IO was for sale or not. I wonder how much infamy/influence i have screwed my self out of, due to my extreme ignorance......*sigh* Does the fact that i have shamelessly exploited, i mean been very smart and diligent all these years when it comes to playing the market, allow me to keep my ebil marketeer badge, or do i loose it?
  18. no the key with a fire kin is you are faster then AAANY one else at what you do. If you build right you can have flashfire up for every spawn, and keep your damage maxed at the cap, which in turn turns hotfeet and fire cages into total monsters. Recharge Recharge Recharge!
  19. MUCH MUCH to strong and MUCH MUCH to pretty to be second page. This is strong and pretty front page material!
  20. just get stoney hop him up with ab and fort, and watch him tank everything! not only can you control everything, but every time the recharge is up, recast stoney in the middle of everything......
  21. (this is kinda on the go, so i apologize if its a bit scatter, brained if you are patient you can get a great high recharge build, for about what you wanted. just off the top of my head,

you can put basiliks in char and cinders, four slots each 7.5 recharge,
if you are feeling rowdy slot posi in your aoe immob for 6.25 recharge.

if you can fit it, six slot bonfire with kinetic crash, thats another 7.5 recharge right there,

slot the 6.25 recharge in your stun,

franken slot your imps with the four recharge intensive pets, and two of whatever else, thats another 6.25 percent,

if you take smoke you can slap darkwatchers dispare in there, thats four slots for a 5 percent recharge,

hotfeet might be a bit pricey, five slot it with oblit for another 5 percent recharge.

again if you can spare the slots, take repel and six slot for another 7.5 recharge with kinetic crash. that would take you up to 4 7.5 recharge slots. take kick six slot that with kinetic crash and you have maxed out your 7.5 recharge slots.
slap doctored wounds in transference for 5 percent recharge. couple that with your siphon speed, and you are gonna be one dangerous toon. thats just very very basic, and all that can easily be found for under a 100 mill.
if you take fireball, fireblast and fire armor, you can slot them with another posi, decimation and impervious skin for two more 6.25 and another 5, and you have also maxed out your 6.25 recharge slots as well, you only have two more 5 percent recharge slots to fill which is very easy, lets say aid other and self, and you have a massive massive recharge happy toon, for well under 200 mill. If i am correct, the lotgs are different from the 7.5 recharge sets, so as you make money, you can slap those in as well.
  22. the main strength to thugs/traps is being able to softcap your defense to all your thugs, and it is not that hard at all. two defense io's in your enforcers, the defense to all pets proc and slot your ffg and bam, softcap. thats what makes the set imho
  23. *engage Bee Gee mode* AH AH AH Aihm stayin alive Stayin alive *cue finger diagonal point* AH AH AH AIhM STAYIN ALIIIIIIIIII HA HA IIIIIIIII HA HA IIIIIIIIII HA HA IIIIIVE AAAAAOW! *cue disco dance * BA NA NA NA BA NA NA BA NA NA NA NA NA NA WOHOOOOOO!!!!
