Quote:That's a bit of a stretch. If I was laughing at another game for having street gangs or evil corporations, you might have a point.Or to put it another way, is Rift ripping off World of Warcraft, because the current BBEG in both games is a dragon?
I'd say no, because Dragons are commonly the BBEG in high fantasy.
For the record, I don't actually care about another game using the mirror-universe element (I thought the capital-R "Resistance" in the context of the setting was more eyerolling than the basic setting itself), I just find it funny that they're doing it. -
Quote:That's correct. And meaningless. So, CoH was the first story ever to have the idea of an evil mirror universe... Oh, wait, it wasn't.
Jungles full of pygmy cannibals have been done before, right? So if Game A does a "Jungle full of pygmy cannibals" expansion and Game B from the same (small) genre pool does a "Jungle full of pygmy cannibals" expansion six months later, that's not eyebrow raising? Really? Because jungles full of pygmy cannibals has been done in other media ove rthe last few centuries so there's nothing strange about Game B's expansion?
Hehehe... ok, then. That's one way of looking at it. -

I'm guessing the "Rogue" creator(s) had the code and threw it in there. NCSoft wasn't directly involved.

Quote:SILENCE!!The easiest fix would probably be to make all vanity pets mutually exclusive. IE, if you have one out and try to summon another, the first one disappears.
Between the Mini-Mekman, the Mini-MVAS and the Clockwork Oscillator pet, my MM's robot army continues to grow...
Until the Assault bot steps on the Mekman and is caught trying to scrape it off his foot.

I'm not a huge fan of steampunk as a genre but I love the fact that we're getting a pack of parts I can mix & match. I'll find uses for the parts in costumes that aren't strictly steampunk just as I've never made a martial arts guy but use the MA pack parts all the time.

BAF has had insane lag for me since the patch, especially during the NS/Siege phase. There, it's virtually unplayable for me. Hit attack power, watch spinning dot for 45 seconds, see power go off.
Lambda runs fine for me and I've never experienced the warehouse lag other people swear by so I'm not surprised that BAF runs fine for a group of folks who wonder what we're crabbing about. -
I only used it on a couple characters so far. One minor change (Ducat got new gloves):
And one major one: I rerolled a character named Votive who I had sitting around uninspired and made her into a Nin/Nin stalker:

The Steampunk stuff looks awesome. Looks as though I'm going to start buying boosters again
I've no idea what the new face tech is supposed to be (aside from "better", I guess) but if it's anything like the organic armor and Praetorian clockwork faces, I'm all for it. -

Quote:I thought that about Praetorian Fusionette. Instead, we just got another idiot, only this one has a doodle.Well actually since most of Praetoria is a Mirrored image of Primal earth with each Primal Hero being a Praetorian Villain (?) at least to us on Earth Prime anyway. It stands to reason that the praetorian Azuria would be highly efficient and no one would ever be able to steal anything from her vault

Very well done and a nice balance between just goofy spoofing and some actual usable material. I laughed at the little "Shirt from..." descriptions on the images (just like a real fashion magazine) but also liked that you actually listed what they were in the creator. Nifty!

Everyone is a Rikti in disguise with "Praetoria" actually being made of plywood and located in the middle of the Sahara.
"You can't go exploring beyond the sonic barriers to keep out the Hamidon"? You guys FELL for that?? -
Quote:I was like "Woooo!!! Go, bad guys!"And when I first saw the carnage in Skyway I was seriously taken aback - I was like "look what the bastards did to our home"
But then I've always hated Skyway City. It's always struck me as a completely ridiculous zone (eight lane superhighways that go all of two miles and have no ramps except at the ends!) and is annoying to traverse on foot. -
Quote:Interesting. I might run a couple tonight just to see.Ran more small scale lambdas today, with more of the same players, some with the same characters, playing more or less the same way... No threads table, I believe.
However in vogue it may be to complain about the system, I'd be happier to learn that it was working just ducky and my experience was an outlier. -
Torching down multiple x8 spawns (ambushes) with Freezing Rain and Volcanic Gas has been hilarious fun and very gratifying to an Earth/Storm who spent the first half of her life feeling like Fossilize & Gale were her main attacks.
But it can't possibly be working as intended.
Man, now I really wish that Malta Action Figure tips mission wasn't nerfed. That would have been great. -

My NR started greyed out, then popped back "on" during the tower phase on a Lambda (after I jetpacked up there) where I used it to jump from gun to gun and then turned "off" again for the rest of the trial.
Now that I type it, I wonder if toggling my jetpack triggered the NR active again and then it stayed "off" once I turned NR back off. -
I remember the Stalker got threads (I think... watch you say now that you were the stalker
). I was the tank. I don't recall the archetype of the third.
I was on 90% of the tubes, missing one when I turned the wrong way in the hall but besides that, yeah, I was leading the charge on the containers and trying to absorb the alphas for the squishies.
I'm torn between running more small teams as a test and saying "Screw it" and avoiding small teams rather than spend my nights getting Leech Prizes in the name of science. -
Quote:That's horrible design. If anything, we each had to participate more than usual to carry us through. If the trial will start with a number then that number should be sufficient for everyone to get a real reward. One Theory on why you are getting 10 Threads, is because you don't have enough teammates to carry your participation over the threshold of the Reward Tables. Try getting a Larger League.
Ironically, prior to the patch, people would say "Try running a smaller league" to people saying they were having issues participating enough against the AoE'ers. Now I'm getting told I can't have a small league if I don't want to get threads.
Except it doesn't. Hence the "horrible design" part. -

We just ran a Lambda with seven people (don't ask). Did a typical job: cleared 100% on the streets, courtyard, guns, usual run through for the 'nades and then plowed Marauder.
Three of us got threads (including myself)
