I hope those negotiations are successful!!

  2. Having been with City of Heroes since pre-launch beta, I, like many others, was extremely saddened by the announcement made on Aug. 31. I have been holding out hope that somehow our beloved game would be saved. Sadly though it appears that the Paragon Studios staff is beginning to move on.

    Taken from this....

"We’ve been very lucky to land some great talent from 38 Studios and Paragon Studios."

To me, this news does not bode well for any hope of the 'City of' franchise being saved.

I do not share this news to discourage further attempts at saving CoH, however to demonstrate that the efforts might be in vain at this point. Afterall, if the staff of Paragon Studios is moving on....what would our game be like with out them?

  3. I believe there will be a new contact show up in your Contacts window that will give you the Night Ward missions. Also, as I remember, you should be able to get their via the new Tunnel system....which should be marked on your map.

Yeah, I slotted the full set in Explosive Arrow.

  6. I slotted it in Explosive Arrow. No real reason, since I don;t often pay attention to 'the numbers'. Was that a bad choice?

  7. After being in the same proverbial boat about a year ago (but only for a few months), I highly recommend this.....

Also, as has been stated before.....check out Paragonwiki and feel free to ask questions on the 'help' channel in-game. Both are excellent resources.

    Welcome back!!

"Hmmm - and there's a permanent group of bounties out for those idiots. Crey for their tech... The Rikti for revenge... In fact..." She scrolled through a few more messages, then a slow smile curved her mouth beneath the camo face paint she wore. "Well, well, well... " Taking one last drag, she flicked the last of it to the floor and ground it beneath her heel.

Luckily for her, she'd just wrapped up her last job here in Striga, so her timetable was free. And thanks to a timely if unwilling donation from the Sky Raiders, she'd just scored some particularly illegal but effective munitions for her team. Time to put 'em to good use.

Swinging her black combat boots onto her field desk, she let out a piercing whistle, and her team came striding in, weapons at the ready as usual.

    "You rang, boss?"

"Who's up for a significant paycheck?"

The team's field medic raised an eyebrow. "Define 'significant'."

"As in Arachnos' number three bounty. And then some."

A series of low whistles went around the office, and she nodded in confirmation.

"Yep, the grapevine says that ole Bronze Bombast himself is gearing up to make a move."

    "And the 'then some'?"

"Recluse says the offer's been sweetened regarding his head. Double if we can verify it's the real one. Doubled again if it's alive and still attached to his body."

The group's weapons mechanic hefted his minigun and grunted in approval. "My kind of 'then some'." The rest nodded in agreement, and she smirked.

"Get your gear in gear and check it twice. We'll be heading to Independence Port come Tuesday. Dismissed."

The men filed out and she keyed a quick reply to the bounty offer and rose to her feet as well. She intended to claim that bounty... and if she had to take out anyone else along the way to get it, well... with luck, there'd be cash involved for them as well.

After all, she thought, slinging her customized composite bow over one shoulder with a grin, that's why they call me Profiteer.

It is the 'Major-General's Song' from the musical The Pirates of Penzance.

    Here's one performance...

Ok...since I'm still waiting for my 7 year Vet badge, I'd settle for being able to have n00bs or 'Freemium' players as my mount instead of a pony.

P.S. Free stuff is always cool. Thanks Devs!! We love you!!!

    P.P.S. Now....where's my 7 year Vet badge?

  13. Personally, I don't care about a 'free-spec'....I'm still waiting for my 7th year Vet badge. Just sayin'.

  14. I've been playing on a 'Mac Mini' (the basic model) for about a year and a half. Got this machine because it was very affordable on my tight budget. I've had no problems except I don't get all the benefits of Ultra-Mode graphics...other than that it works great and I'll never go back to a PC.

  15. I'm holding my last 2 open slots on Justice reserving names....one for Staff Fighting and the other for Beast Mastery.

  17. Since the patch notes aren't up yet....I'm wondering what is new with today's patch. Spring Fling? Staff Fighting power set? Roman costumes?

    CoH and Lion

I'm considering upgrading to the new Mac OS (aka Lion) but am wondering how compatible it is with CoH? Anyone tried it yet?

  19. I logged onto the 'Test' server this morning to test the new Halloween trial and other stuff...but could not find anybody else playing on the server. So I ask....where is everybody? Is no one testing out the new stuff today?

  21. Have the tech lab maps that we see in Praetoria been added to AE? If so, where do I find them.

    Thanks!

For instance how much worse would it have been for them to have scheduled a 9:30PM BST to 9:30AM BST period this time around? It's still going to suck for a solid 12 hours regardless of what time of day that is.

Obviously most of the people who play this game live in NA so most of the time the maintenance periods are going to favor NA players. But even as a NA player I think it would only be fair for me to get hit by a few of these prime-time downages from time to time.

    Fair is fair after all...
    I gotta agree with this.

    Afterburner?

Maybe I'm just not using it correctly, but....I don't see any point in taking 'Afterburner'.

I have a toon who has 'Hover' & 'Air Superiority' so I decided to take 'Afterburner'. Upon firing it up while hovering, I saw no change to my flight speed when 'Hover' was on. Does it just affect 'Fly' or did I do something wrong?

  24. Hmmm...the in-game announcement a couple minutes ago said 2 hours.

    Here's hoping!

    *crosses fingers for 2 hours*
