I logged onto the 'Test' server this morning to test the new Halloween trial and other stuff...but could not find anybody else playing on the server. So I ask....where is everybody? Is no one testing out the new stuff today?

No one been wanting to test the new stuff since the test Market is down since it seems we where told titan weapons where meant to be on test with the event on the market for 0 points. That and some people didnt have Freedom server chars since the freedom server was 'copyed' to the test sever.

A few where about to test the new trail the 1st few days it hit test.

Going to miss the fun and nice people here at CoH. Feel free to add me on PS3/XBox360

Yer. I was pretty excited to be on Test pretty much 24/7 this week checking out Titan Weapons and getting my sets and chains solidified for live, but no go. Since it's "just a P2P power set" with no announced development schedule or concrete release date (e.g., the Halloween event itself) then it won't really be a problem for them to push TW back to ensure it gets properly tested... Which... Argh. Blargh. Fargh.

I can pretty much guarantee that Titan Weapons was NOT intended to be released on live concurrently with the Halloween event. As you say, it hasn't been properly tested yet.

There is evidence [screenshots] that there may have been plans to release it concurrently with the Halloween Event, but the Test push-back has probably relinquished it to a later release date as few studios which deal in online multiplayer content are confident in pushing updates through based on their QA folk alone. :x

No, there's evidence that they planned to test it concurrently with the Halloween Event at best, and it's far more likely that it was just a few teaser images for the set. You really expected them to release two purchasable Power Sets in the same month, when one of them hasn't been publicly tested at all yet?

(Heck, I wouldn't even put it past someone to have goofed and gotten the shots using an internal build test character and mistakenly getting those shots past marketing.)

They said they were going to start testing Titan Weapons this past Friday (which obviously got borked by something on the back end and didn't happen). Even without that back-end borking, you still expected them to have it launched on live this Thursday, less than a week into testing, based on that announcement? You say that some developers are confident in their QA team's testing abilities alone, but from what I gathered from this latest beta, Synapse very much values the input of players when it comes to testing new powersets...

I have few doubts based on what we do know that we'll see Titan Weapons before the end of November, but it'll likely be in the second half of the month--actually, I'm guessing Cyber Monday (the Monday after Thanksgiving) would be a solid bet. It's something that could easily appease the people who weren't invited to the i21.5 closed beta, which should be kicking off any day now...

Fair and good points, Chad. Clearly there's a lot of wishful thinking and wild conjecture on my part, but argh. I want that damned set so bad I can taste it. That's right, I can taste it! To be fair, they seem very pleased (I wouldn't be surprised if they were even alarmed, to an extent) with the massive success of moving to a micro-payment model and have unloaded a massive amount of content in the last month. Whether or not that has anything to do with actual demand (they may have just planned to release a metric ton of content early on) I have no idea, but I like to think there's some amount of "Holy crap, they're eating it up! RELEASE MORE CONTENT! MORE MONEY!" going on.

They know for a fact there are droves of people like myself drooling and gnashing our teeth over the prospect of getting our hands on Titan Weapons just to have them, regardless of whether or not the set is actually any good (fingers crossed here), and I had a really lame hope that they actually wiped the Test server thinking that thousands of people would go running screaming to the Test server and stay there to check out the set. On that note, I also have a crazy notion that the extraordinary anticipation for Titan Weapons (I have so far met one person who is not GODAWFUL excited about the set) might have made one single week of testing generate enough numbers to tune the set to gold status. ;D

Eh, I know people on both sides of the fence on that. I'm not terribly excited about Titan Weapons, but I'll get it (I have this creepy idea for a Silent Hill-themed Brute). My best in-game friend skipped Street Justice in favor of Titan Weapons, though, and he can't shut up about them.

I also know that there aren't that many people who actively play on the test and beta servers, though. And of the group that do, I'd hypothesize that the majority isn't there to actually test so much as they just want to see the new shiny stuff... hence all the ill-tempered complaints that show up on the forums in the first couple days when things go from closed beta to opened; "How dare you have bugs in the beta!?!"

That said, WHY THE PANCAKE IS THE STORE STILL DOWN ON TEST!?! They said Titan Weapons was going to be available for testing 5 days ago, and still nada!

Regarding testing of Titan Weapons: IIRC, Synapse was really excited about, and looking forward to players testing two things in the Closed Beta forums for I21/Freedom. The first was the change to Beam Rifle, and the changed Disintegration Spread. The second was Titan Weapons.

Also, IIRC, we had access to Street Justice for about 4 or 5 weeks before it was pulled, and we pretty much agreed that the set was near-perfect right out of the box. I can see them giving the end of October through the end of November as a testing time. At least, I could, if the Test Server Market would come back up...

I would very much like some sort of ETA on this from the developers. Please?

I recommend a liberal application of Street Justice.

Yes, but then the police would give me a liberal application of imprisonment and I'd have to wait even longer to see Titan Weapons.

As Zwillinger and Beastyle like to keep pointing out, such a power set has never been announced. I wouldn't hold my breath over it... it's probably not going to be out until sometime in 2012.

I'd totes rather have Staves than Titan Weapons, though. I want to make my Sun Wukong/Son Goku (the original, not the Dragonball guy) character!
