So you agree we're the sidekick comedy relief.
    I rest my case.

I question why Manticore needs the help of a level 4 Blaster who hasn't figured out how to change the ammo in their guns yet.

They've sure got a funny way of doing that: Taking signature characters I could previously solo or duo and having them take on 24 or more players at once in Trials.

Or are you referring to the devs arbitrarily kneecapping the Freedom Phalanx and making them hold the Idiot Ball in the flavor text?

They'll either force the signature character to act wildly out or character and hold the Idiot Ball or contrive some situation to kneecap them so they need our help.

Otherwise, they wouldn't need our help.

I've heard these mentioned in conjunction with i21 and CoH:F, but they're not on the i21 overview page and from what I've seen the devs have said zero about them while releasing all this i21 info.

So has there been any word if they're going to begin releasing them with i21 or later?

I expected someone to reference that. I was just stating how long it took.

Seems kind of pointless with the Tanker damage cap being where it is. They can't really sell a booster that effects that, can they(?).

I am however, quite serious about swapping Controllers for Tankers on the VIP block.

-Removing Controllers from play leaves Dominators the only control AT, as opposed to the FOUR melee damage ATs that already step all over each other.

-Controllers are no more pet-heavy than Doms, and even some kinds of Defenders and Blasters.

-The aforementioned conceptual parity with Statesman and Recluse.

-Some Tanker players already act like they're better than everyone else. VIP AT status should appeal to them.

Hang on while I come up with something outrageous to say.

    Ok got it:

Instead of making Controllers the 'blue' VIP AT, make Tankers. They're more of a counterpart to Masterminds in some respects anyways. Also, Statesman=Tanker, Recluse=Mastermind; it just makes sense. Then give Tankers a damage boost and MMs a HP boost.

Presto: Two premium ATs that can be 'better' because you pay for them, unlike cheapskate Brutes and Scrappers.

  10. People have a really eff'd up perspective.

    NOW:
You stop paying them money each month, you lose access to your Incarnate powers, Mastermind and...oh...EVERYTHING. Because they cut you off from the server. You can have paid all you want for Going Rogue. You don't pay the monthly sub, you don't get to use it. All those costume Boosters you paid for? Worthless without the game.

    FUTURE:
You stop paying them money each month you lose access to your Incarnate powers, Mastermind and some other things...but you get to keep access to a bunch of other stuff, including the servers.

As opposed to NOW where you retain access to NOTHING if you stop paying.

Having access to some things while not paying is better than having access to nothing while not paying. Period.

Especially since there's a glut of newer content in the 20-25 range. Mercedes Sheldon, Nance, Roy Cooling, Vincent Ross, Dean MacArthur, Darrin Wade, Jenni Adair.

There was already plenty of new stuff in the 20s level range, especially the low to mid 20s.

I don't recall 30-35 getting non-TF content for a while and any 50 content as been mostly Trials and TFs. And it goes without saying there's still no real solo Incarnate path or content.

Needless to say, I'm more than a little disappointed they spent resources for a new zone, enemy groups and content that will be out-leveled in 5 levels. In a level range that frankly didn't need more new content right now. In Praetoria, so soon after players were supposed to be 'exiled' from there to Primal Earth. While solo players are still getting the shaft with the endgame.

    Massively spills the beans!

"One of the really cool elements that was shown off was something I inadvertently alluded to a few weeks back: two-handed melee weapons. It turns out that isn't coming in a Super Booster but in the new store. It also promises to change the dynamic of the weapon sets to reward a slightly different playstyle, emphasizing repeated weapon strikes in quick succession. Interesting stuff, to be sure, although I was told that it won't quite be ready for the store's launch. But hey, you have to leave something for further on down the line."

I believe Zwill said this in the Ustream chat yesterday regarding a comment on smashed Galaxy City:

"Wait until you see Atlas Park".

Frankly, if they're going to revamp Atlas Park, I want the 'original' Atlas statue with the hollow wireframe globe to replace the current one. It would look great casting Ultra Mode shadows.

    Giant Shivan

    Missed opportunity:

It appears Shivans constitute themsevles with whatever matter is nearby where they land.

In Bloody Bay they assimilated corpses from the graveyard and nuclear fallout.
Here they've assimilated scrap and debris from the destruction.

It would have been cool to have a giant abomination made out the smashed hero statues of Galaxy Girl, Orion, M1, etc; but with the body parts freakishly in the wrong places. So it's got like Orion's head for a fist and someone's partial torso for a foot, etc.

    Giant Shivan

It's a Shivan, in what's left of Galaxy.
You can see the deactivated War Wall in the background of several shots.

Surprise. We're getting a model and texture facelift to many buildings in the Primal zones.
I expect they did this while adding the contest winning player created billboards.

That's not her midriff, that's her belt or girdle in the classic sense. The point is that's not her skin. It sticks out from her body on the sides. It looks like it has the same same emblem that's on the armor the snake girls are wearing, though.

Look at the screenshots of the new Seed of Hamidon.
Those headcrabs totally fit the theme because the DE are different in Praetoria.
