For this question I'll use Cardiac as my starting point.
After unlocking Cardiac, I decieded to go with Radial Boost as my 2nd tier. I noticed that the original Cardiac boost became dark again. Does this mean that if I were to now want the Core, then I would have to redo Cardiac Boost and then Core? And would this then mean I get both Core and Radial at same time; l or do I get to choose which one I want? -
I think the reason they did not give full access to Alpha was to help give us a fill for how the system works, that and all the holidays. I'd expet full Alpha opened in mid Jan. Followed by Judgement (i20) in late Feb early March.
-
Totally not cool, i just woke up and missed a whole day of missed i19. Evil devs they new I'd be too tired to play and intentionally waited till I was at my weakest
-
Yeah I had same issue a few years back something to do with several purchases over same IP, even though I have both passwords and all the account info. This was at the full price mind you. I sent a complaint and it still took 30 days before she was able to get said item and I never even got a; we are sorry email from them.
I have a suspision that NCSoft is completly in charge of the store and Paragon Studios has no control over NCSoft's protective measures; (remember NCSoft started in Korea first and there are a lot more pirating/ privacy scams over there than here and that could be the reason..... not to justify, just making comment)
It sucks, however, I hope your wife still gets it at the Cyber Monday price later down the road if it takes them awhile to fix it. If not, I'd raise holy heck about it.
Good Luck! -
I'll also keep that in mind, but I probably will not be playing until i19, plus I have a night job now and I be very sleepy during the days. I'll give you a hint. I don't wanna grow up.
If I'm on and really really after them badges I'll give one of you a holler. -
I'm also looking for these, but am not willing to pay
-
Quote:I agree with you on feeling this game is worthy of the cost. Yet, I'd like to point out that if you paid a full year in advance, they would actually make more money off of that rather than paying $15.00 a month. The sad thing is, I'm a little torn about doing this because it means that Paragon will get less of my money. (I'm currently on a month-to-month subscription plan.)
This is the only game I've ever played that I feel is worthy of the $15/month I pay (plus the cost of all the boosters), and it's due to this that I want to support them as best I can*, which I've done so far by keeping two accounts active...
... But, I think I'm gonna go ahead and switch my main account over to the year-plus-two-free-months plan this go 'round, while keeping my second account on the month-to-month plan in case I ever get strapped for cash (like I did when I got bumped down to part-time for 3 months) and have to cancel something.
*That said, I'm not buying the Party Pack. Bad marketting department, no cookie!
By paying just $15. They only get $15. Now if you were to pay the $143.20 for the year. The can then take the $11.95 monthy out for the 1st month then earn interest for the remaining money. Now this will not create, millions of additional monies earned from you individually, but say just 10% of the core base does a yearly renewal. (This is all speculative mind you)......
Say there are 100k players; 10% get yearly subs.
That means that they, (they being Paragon Studios and NCSoft), just got $1,432,000 up front. Just sitting in the bank.
Now say they make 5% interest, after the 1st month is taken out ($119,500). That leaves $1,312,500 with 5% interest which turns into $65,625 interest earned.
Now I know that is a "perfect ideal" and more than likely not 100% accurate, but I promise it is pretty close. Of course I am not throwing in figures such as overhead into the mix. But still if more of us were willing and of course able to do the yearly sub, that would benefit the game more so than a month sub would.
But for now, I can only do a monthy as it would be to straying to pay the year upfront. -
Still, I believe my idea for exp in AE is the solution. Not reposting, you all can look if you feel like it.
I'm not one for the ban hammer, or taking the characters back to "x Level"; let them stay at the level they are until they have earned the same amount of exp correctly. -
Quote:The harm would be the complete distruction of the game. If there is not sacrifice; in this case farming to lvl 50; then there is no reason to play or try. The same can be said for society. If you are giving free money to pay your bills, free money for your food, and free medical care; why care at all. If that were to happen the game and Paragon Studios would be out of business in 3 months. Then what's the harm in simply giving everyone an instant "Make me 50" button? Or why bother with influence/infamy/information?
At least with these exploits, you do have to spend some time in getting to know your character. But you are missing the enjoyment of what is out there.
I would like to see a instant lvl 50 button given out as a 7 year badge to be used only once. -

As for banning people, the Dev's should take a page from the Star Wars Galaxy play book.
For those of you that do not know, they dumped every person that was either dupping the money or had received the dupped money knowingly or unknowingly into space.
My wife (now ex) was one of those people that unknowingly had taken dupped money. I though it was one of the funniest things I had ever seen. -
I don't understand the issue here. If that is how they want to play the game, then...their loss. It should not affect your playing style. Yes it is kinda dumb to play through a game only through AE... espically in farm only mission. blech.
They are just missing out on all the fun in actually learning how to play their characters is all. And they will find out that once they actually want to play the in-game content, then...oops I have to be exemplered to do.
AE in general should have very limited exp rewards for example:
For this example I will use a base of 400 exp. Also your account would be be rounded up to the nearest hour upon logging out.
1 hour = 400 exp per minion
2 hours = 300 exp per minion
3 hours = 200 exp per minion
4 hours = 100 exp per minion
5 hours = 75 exp per minion
6 hours = 50 exp per minion
7 hours = 25 exp per minion.
After 7 hours it would remain at 25 exp per minion, and continue to stay at 25 exp until the flag timer is used up.
In order to remove the flag, your character would have to be logged in and be active for the same amount of in game time. No logging out for a day and the flag is removed. This would only affect AE and have no effect on in game content. Also patroling bonus exp is not available for use in AE either. If at any time they deciede to play AE mission, the timer starts back up.
Yes people would dislike it, yet I believe this would turn AE back into what it is ment for. AE is not ment to be used as a, "get rich quick" scheme. It is there for the community to show off their talents using the game. For those that create content, they would have better chances to have their stuff being played.
Is this a practical idea? I doubt it, I don't even know if it's possible to add or how much time would be needed to implement such a thing.
But I do agree with Ancient above me, play the game how you want to play it. Use AE or Don't, get mad at the spammers, or ignore them... We do have the ability to ignore somebody. -
Quote:I really don't think it's a lack of not liking the zone because it is hard to see; it really isn't that hard to get around. I think it is more of the reason of, "Why bother," or "what's the pay off?" Sure it's the only place to get Adamaster to spawn.....so. What reason do I need to go there other than wrapping up a TF or two that forces players to remember that DA is a playable zone.Just to add a second two cents in. Do you guys know anybody who Likes playing in Dark Astoria? If so, then maybe weather might work. I have nobody on my friends list who likes that zone for its dark immersion. As a matter of fact, we find it annoying. It's also dangerous. The danger is kind of nice, but overall dim vision would be a negative. Also if the weather affected our abilities, then those who don't like weather wouldn't have the option of ignoring it for their own fun, because not seeing it and suffering it would be the pits.
Just my (Now) four cents.
Like many of the "hazard zones," they are uninteresting to visit, except for the badges and occasion Big Monster spawn.
What I would do is turn DA into another zone similar to RWZ where hero, villian, and prateorians could all do some kind of event. Like a full fled "Halloween*" zone, filled with every type of scary creature we know of, through in a TF or two that affect the game like the LGTF does once completed.
Give us, the players to go there, and we will. Otherwise, forget it. -
Boy, my hopes and dreams for this game are getting shot all to pieces lately. I don't know why I was was thinking that the Winter event would be during this week. Must be all that non-crack I'm smoking.
Thanks for replies though. Hope you all have a good Turkey Day! -
There is so much Win in this trailer!!!
-
Orange Juice and toast again; sometimes being a hero is not all it's cracked up to be.
-
Real life keeps getting in the way for me. I"ll try for soon.
-
But where do you stop, once weather comes in. I now want Natural Disasters. I want my hurricanes, tornado, earthquakes, tsunami, Blizzards (well maybe not that one
), volcanoes, floods!!!!
Wait a second, we have a volcanoe, and a zone destroyed by an earthquake. What do you say now DEVS.....what do you say now.
Seriously, I want to jumb into the middle of a tornado and invert it like Superman did in Superman 3....so epic. -
I would love for weather effects to be added into the game. It's always sunny in Paragon; does get old, espically for some of us going on close to 7 years..... However I understand War Witch's reasoning and agree with her, and also disagree with her.
My computer's graphics card is not up to par so I do not get to enjoy all the pretty graphical improvements that have been made. Granted the game needed a face-lift, but what did it do to the overall game. Nothing. It did not make fighting better, or story arc better...just prettier. This was just a visual improvement, nothing more. So this is where I disagree with her "not on my watch" attitude. I would love to see storm weather patterns that reflected actuall seasons, winds blowing in, the leaves on trees changing colors, leaves blowing in the air. Rain, snow, hail... all would be wonderful additions to the game.
Now I do not agree with the OP of this thread's creator of zone specific events; IE enemy AI leaving the area ect. But they should reflec what's going on. You wouldn't see the Hellions hanging out in the streets during a snow store, wearing, t-shirts and shorts; but rather longsleeve and pants. They wouldn't need sissy umberellas like the NPC's walking around, they are to bad%@@ for that.
Again this only benefits visuals and there is no benefit towards game play.
Also the idea that weather affects the powers is a bad one. Oh man it's raining, guess I'll have to wait to play my FIRE/FIRE Blaster. But that could lend to really cool audio sound effects and steam coming off of the fire as it blasts through snow/water.
When they were showing off the tech specs of the ultra mode, one of the things shown was the shadow effects. Shadows are a cool effect, but I'm not going to stand still long enough to watch my shadow move from one side of me to the other, or for that matter watch how a shadow falls around a building. This is also visual and honestly a waste of time and has no real reason to be added into the game. Since it was added, it seems a bit hypocritical to say, shadows are important, but weather is not. How much time was "wasted" in making the shadow effect, or the reflection effect. I have no idea, but could not that same time be used towards weather?
Now this is where a agree with War Witch and others that have posted. What purpose does it serve in game? Answer, none. Is it going to somehow affect my indoor defeat all mission? Nope. Where is the fun in having weather? Just like shadow effects, only cool the first time, after that, we all get blinders and take the small things for granted. Could we turn the effect off? I would hope so.
What I got from her statement is, I don't want it, but show me a reason to put it in and I will. So for those of you that want it. Find a reason other than visually to get it added to the game.
For me I would love to have weather, but I would rather the time be spent adding new zones and missions to the game. -
Quote:I have been requesting dodgeball since the arena launchedThat'd be spiffy... wish there was a way we could reprogram the Arena for PvP Football for a Thanksgiving day game...
Tankers/Brutes/Lobster form khelds = pass blocking
Scrappers/SoAs = receivers
Widows/Stalkers = blitzers
Dominators/Defenders = defense
Controllers = coaches
Blasters/Corruptors = QB/kickers/punters
Masterminds = special teams
And catgurls as cheerleaders.

Well I am sad about this annoucement I am very happy to see a red name (no less War Witch) make an official statement. This is but one aspect that makes this game great! I am greatly looking forwars to this new update but I want all players to be able to have a great time as well am and pleased with your need to have it released smoothly and as close to humanly perfect as possible. Have a great Thanksgiving!
