Wow...we were a bunch of rookies out there! It certainly looked like you guys were kicking butt from my seat.

Hey First, I need to point out that you were a huge help on our team. You and the others steered me in the right direction so many times.

Tammy, I still have a question actually.

Is the blue team supposed to continue to concentrate on blue mitos throughout? At one point I thought you said "greens then blues"...do our priorities switch at that point?

I also think a couple of the tankers didn't know about...

A timely reminder couldn't hurt. (I'll bet you were planning that already) Especially about bringing it to our little rock after a wave. Our team was in the middle of congratulating ourselves on everyone surviving a wave when we were wiped by that evil splash. lol... (Or was that griefers?)

I also never did find out who was leading Yellow team 1. (We were supposed to be following them) We merely worked our way through the blues clockwise and that seemed to work.

All in all, one of my better experiences in the Hive...ever (My connection and computer were sub-par in the old days so I missed half of what was going on). And mostly due to you Tammy.

Any plans for EoE farming today? ...And I wonder if Bio-Nukes will still be available? (Ok...that's enough for now )

Good times, Tammy! Great job leading.

Somehow I got sucked into leading a team...lol. Learning on the job. Lucky I had some good help. Probably be back tomorrow.
  4. I'll load that in too. Thank you very much!

I'm sure I could live with that small recharge difference on the "big three". (But then again...it may seem like an eternity in game... )

(This is kinda fun....now I see why people trade builds around here)

Then 6 slot slice with Scirocco's and you're soft-capped to all, with minimal changes and 1 slot left over. In general, frankenslotting and positional defenses don't go well together as the big boosts come from the 5th and 6th slots. Also, you look like you're going to have end issues. If you drop tough and weave and try to pick up the def from set bonuses then you might be in a better place. IMHO, YMMV, etc. etc.
    Hey thanks.

I'll work that up in Mids and see what I think of it.

No end issues so far. During AV fights I usually turn off the ranged toggle to help out. Otherwise I'm going non-stop it seems.

edit: I've been playing this one at lvl 50 for weeks without that last enhancement....

  7. Reading through this thread got me curious. I put some effort into my BS/SR scrapper. I didn't really know that ALMOST hitting the soft cap made such a difference. Mine is 46.66% melee, 44.82% ranged, and 40.72% aoe. He doesn't get hit much. I assumed that was good...but after reading this I wonder. Is it? I'll go check my mids build to see if it's up to date and post it.

edit: Just remembered to drop in the last enhancement in the build I had waiting in the base and it took the ranged to 46.38%. Somehow, the same build in Mids comes out to 44.1% melee, 43.8% ranged, and 38.1% aoe. I'm guessing it isn't adding in combat jumping or something.

    A couple of things:

I've never actually done the Warburg nuke thing. (Not a PvP person) Are there plans to get some people together to do this? (If we do, I guess we should keep the time secret for PvP reasons, eh? ) I doubt my little Defender can do it on her own.

The "BLOOM" thing sound very important from the way you type it...but I don't understand it or the "countdown".

Ok, name of the Dark/Dark Defender is Jaina Organa. Got 95% recharge on Howling Twilight (about 1 min 30 secs). Also have a snipe (poorly slotted).

A question that popped into my head. Is this version as framerate slaughtering as the original? If so, should we try to bring a cape-less costume? I normally get about 60fps, should I be prepared to lower my settings for this?

With the amount of people asking we may do both Friday and Saturday but that depends on true commitment from people and needs to fill up the sign up list first before I'm able to make a better judgement.
Dark/Dark, that will work. I have both those powers on that character. I'll have to log on later and get the exact spelling of the name. (You picked the one character that I'm not sure on. )

    Hami Raid

Sounds very cool, but I would be interested in the time of the event. During the week I get up very early so running it late would kill me. Fri, Sat, and Sun are no problem.

I can bring just about anything you need. I have a Tanker, but I have to admit I don't have the highest opinion of my Tanking ability. Am very comfortable as a Scrapper, Blaster, or Controller though. I can bring pretty much any Controller powerset that is needed (have tp, recall friend on several of them) Also have Ice Blaster with holds (but no snipe) and a Dark/Dark Defender with holds.

I haven't been in a Hami raid in a long time (when PA couldn't be killed), so I'll need to be led so I don't trip over my shoelaces.

  13. I'm slightly upgrading from an Nvida 8600GT to a 8800GT. Just updated the driver last week....do I need to uninstall it and reinstall when I switch the video card?
  14. My connection has been back to normal for weeks.

I did get some bad lag last night on Freedom PI...but I switched to PI2 and it went away. Probably just a lot of ToT going on.

    I'll second that.

Since I've played all the stuff through many times, I'm now at the point where I want to spend my time being Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Superman instead of training to become Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, and Superman.

Lvl 50 is just a relaxed state. It's like you've got your cake and are just piling icing on top of it.

    Famous last words.

I've heard things like that before on this forum. The famous "it will never happen" thing. Most of the stuff we've gotten over the last few years were proclaimed "never going to happen" on these boards.

I'm not even sure a person has to work that hard to become filthy rich. I certainly don't study the market and I'll never worry about cash again. Mostly I just love playing my 50s...that's it. Big whoop.

And if you ask me, purples are highly overrated. They aren't even close to being worth what they go for. I just finished building a Scrapper that is nigh untouchable (SR). Probably the toughest character I've ever made. Zero purples in his build. I think they would actually decrease his performance. The set bonuses for one thing aren't that great.

So heck, just play your 50s and sell those purple drops for the insane prices they go for and outfit every character to the max with sets that really matter.

That's just off the top of my head.... there are many more base issues/requests that have been pushed to the back burner for far too long.
I would settle for any base editing tools that allow me to have a "decorative" base that doesn't take all day to load.

I recently went in and deleted a few rooms that were there just for "fun" to cut down on the load time.

Without knowing what I'm talking about, I'm assuming that's because of the thousands of little items I had stacked to build things like walls and floors. Maybe it would work better if a wall or floor was just one item?

2nd on my wish list would be that yummy WW interface. (Sheesh...would we ever leave our bases?)
  19. Mine are like comic book heroes...never "done". Issue #300 is followed by issue #301.

I honestly play my 50s about 99% of the time now. I understand how others feel, but I can't relate. A lvl 50 has all their powers and is more fun to me than a non-50. Why would I want to spend all my time training to be Spider-Man/Thor/Batman/Iron Man when I can spend all my time being Spider-Man/Thor/Batman/Iron Man? That's an easy choice for me.

As for the "building aspect, my most decked-out character that I really did think was "done" (building, not playing) just got another purple recipe slotted last week from a lucky drop. (What are the odds you get the one you can use?) If she isn't "done" none of them are.

I started a new Scrapper a few weeks ago, and with the help of double xp weekend, got him to 50. (yay) He's just beginning in my eyes. I worked out his build with Mids and now he's ready to go. I'm loving that character. (Good grief...why didn't I play a BS/SR Scrapper before?)

Contrast that with my very first character, a lvl 50 En/En Blaster that I haven't played in years. I really didn't like that character very much in hindsight....but I won't delete it because "you never know"...I may just get the itch to play him again. (He's not taking up any room on my server anyway, so no harm)
  20. I'm hoping SG membership stays intact but in "suspended" mode or something where you stop earning prestige but don't lose any prestige earned or the join date. Maybe how it would work if Iron Man "went rouge" for a while and quit the Avengers. The others would shake their heads at his foolishness but would welcome him back if he mended his ways.

I was thinking of taking my SG leader toon through a spin on redside but won't do it if I lose all those things. It's a pretty minor thing to most I'll bet but it's just important enough to me to not want to lose it. My leader has those numbers beside her name...and they were earned.

Enough of this nonsense *this game isn't balanced around IOs*. Alot of the players I run into have set bonuses and lots of them lets start making the game harder because of it.
I have to disagree with you here.

"A lot of the players" seems a little sketchy. If you make the game harder at level 50 (i.e. "balance around IO's") you change that to "all the players will have to use IOs".

It's pretty hard to have sympathy for someone that works that hard to make their character powerful and then complains that the game is too easy. Do they not realize it's optional and they decided to do it?

Currently I have options. Some characters I frankly don't invest as much into and just randomly throw enhancements at. SO's still work fine and that's nice. But if I do decide I want to "uber" it up a bit, I have the option to start shopping and crafting to achieve some better capability. It's like a different (and more time consuming) version of the difficulty slider.

And there isn't any set "level" I have to get to either. I can go from SO's to generic IO's and get better performance or start with set IO's for dozens of other combinations. I can start throwing serious money at a character if I want and make it into a mini god (purples and such). It's my option...and I love options. A "harder game at lvl 50" takes away the more casual options.

So which of the levels I just described do we balance around? How many of the options get taken away?
  22. What can we say Kali, we don't care for WoW. I get that you love it, but its appeal goes right over my head. Just more wizards and fantasy stuff.

And also, it should be pointed out again that being on that list was a compliment.

Ah well...it was a nice thought this "stacking" thing I had going. Ignorance can be bliss.

If you don't want to solo AVs or EBs, you may never even notice a problem.
The average SR player might not notice *explicitly* but I think the lack of protection to non-positional psi does have an impact on SR's performance vs Lost and Rikti missions, and it also has some impact on running Carnie missions (specifically missions with lots of Illusionists). Non-positional psi is not very common, but its also not as rare as some people think it is (you see it as early as the yellow tsoo ink men).
Since this is my first try at it, I would have to be labeled as "below average"...so I'm sure not to notice!

...Though the LGTF suddenly sounds very scary after seeing that "Rikti missions" thing above. "Bring purples" I guess?
  24. Thanks guys. That's makes it a bit clearer.

I guess I was thinking in terms of stacking like 1.5% cold defense "stacking" with melee defense when it was a cold/melee attack. So if I had 38% melee defense+1.5% cold defense that would be 39.5% defense against that particular attack. Would that be correct?

I'm a little short on information here.

I've never played SR before and just started a BS/SR scrapper. In my mind the 3 positional defenses covered everything. What is "non-positional" and what other than psionics has that?

I also thought that adding special defense for say toxic damage from an IO set would stack on top of the positional defense. Wrong?
