So would an ice/psy work well as a specifically pvp dom?

Hi all, i have myself a young dominator, currently sat at lvl 23 of the fire/nrg variety (picked that cos i liked the idea of domination + power boost) and am rather enjoying him. I would quite like a toon that could pvp but dont want to go for the standard stalker or blaster so was wondering how pvp capable dominators are and whether this combo would work for that. If these sets arent ideal, which would you suggest? Anyway back to work i guess.

You suggest taking out an end redux from each of snow storm, hurricane and steamy mist, is this gonna cripple my endurance unless i slot other powers with end redux?

Is O2 Boost really worth taking? Ive heard of other stormies fitting in aid other & self, thoughts on this?

Guessing I haven't slotted Tornado enough. Any suggestions (without wanting to make people repost stuff thats been in other threads...)

Hmm ok, so far i have been tempted by /energy and /archery.

Since i know nothing about storm summoning (seen very few ppl play it, esp. at high levels) what powers would you say are must have/must avoid?

Anyway here is my storm defender build from my own guestimates of what might work. Feel free to rip it apart. Will i need to slot more end reduction than this since it seems like an end heavy set. (used archery this build, but made a very similar /energy build too)

Any opinions on an epic to go with?

Hello all,

After a rather long break away (due to pesky academia) i shall be returning to Paragon City in about 3 weeks (yes its a while away but i'm getting impatient). When i return for the xmas hols i want to roll a new toon to play during my short hols. Got two types of toon in mind, either a storm/* def or a fire/* dom. The storm def appeals since it looks like its got fun powers later on and could be quite challenging. Same with the fire dom. My question is this, which toon and which secondary? (also any general advice , comments etc gratefully received.)

I had thought Storm/elec for obvious conceptual reasons but now im not so sure that its the most suitable compliment. Is Psi a better choice? I had also tried a fire/energy dom before which was quite fun but would fire/fire be more prudent?

While i have no desire to be uber (i am contemplating a dom after all :P) i would like to try and tailor my build to be able to solo occaisonally if possible.

So what do you all think? What should i play next?

In my opinion ( and i know a couple of claws players that would agree) Follow Up is definitly worth getting. I didnt get it that early but specced it in at the late 20s and it made a definite difference to my dmg output. I'm still using it in the 40s slotted with recharge and tohit buffs so that it stacks a little bit and means i rarely miss Unfortunatly i never found it fun to number crunch so cant give you stats but from my playing experience i think its good thing to have in your powertray. Just my two pence

Hmm would be interested to see if anyone else has a build for this too. Have a /traps mm and love the traps aspect of it but dont love the whole MM shenanigans so have been thinking about a traps cor, and fire/traps was the one i had considered too. Any thoughts anyone? or have you knocked up a build polaris?

Amidst this torrent of flaming, internet testosterone and tomfoolery I would like to post a little anecdote about when PvPers are nice (just so newbies who havent PvP'd before arent put off it entirely right now). Just now i took my brute into Siren's Call again, trying to see if i could do a bit than my abysmal performance the night before. I couldn't but thats beside the point, i was mid duel (I say duel - i mean i was being killed as per usual) against a certain Kat/SR scrapper when the phone goes. Typing hurriedly into my chat bar to warn my teamates that my phone was ringing, i wrote "eeek phone" into what turned out to be local not team chat - whoops. Went to grab the phone and when i came back Lo and Behold i was still alive, and young Mr Talon had had the good grace to move on to another villain. Of course by the time i finished my phone call someone else had killed me, but i would like to thank Steel Talon for being a good sport and to let everyone else know that are decent people who pvp.

Im now off to see if i can sort out this ruddy build so that im slightly less squishy...grrr

Yeah i can confirm that it was possible to form coalitions between Hero sgs and Villain sgs in the first week of CoV being live since my hero sg and villain sg have done so (tried to get a villain to use a hero teleporter to tp into Paragon City, didnt work of course!) But it is no longer possible as people have said above
