If we are talking about legacy then I think for the sake of balance it should be said that his vision is also leading consumer electronics in a very unhealthy direction of restricted consumer rights and uncompetitive practices.

Quote:Even the first Doctor dropped hints about being on the run, but always very vague. The most famous quote from right at the start being, "Have you ever thought what it's like to be wanderers in the fourth dimension? To be exiles?" So you could say the "Who?" part has been there from the very beginning.Well the question of who is The Doctor really goes back at least to the Fourth Doctor and maybe longer.
If Moffat is going to do his own version of the Cartmel plan I will be very happy. As long as the Longbarrow rubbish is ignored and they keep it all vague. -

Quote:*sad face*The Praetorian enemies are going to be adjusted to have their difficulty toned down, as they have too many attacks compared to other mobs of a similar level in the game.
Praetoria feels like the game used to back at the start. Can't we have an area that's a little tougher than the rest?
ps: thanks VK -
Hey, some of us have only just woken up! Is it too late to join in?
Refunds cuz the set isn't as strong as some other set? No way.
Disclose set numbers before purchase? Sure, why not. I was actually surprised it didn't work like costume pieces. I expected to be able to select the powerset in character creation and take a look at the powers on offer, but not to be able to proceed until I had paid. -
If you were buying base items with paragon points I assume it would work exactly like buying an enhancement. Spend the points and get 1. Use as you will, but you only get 1 unless you spend the points again. Which is why I think buying a recipe would probably work better.

Quote:I probably would too. But I'd be annoyed at the same time. Regardless of things Posi has said, offline SG invites should have been done ages agoI'd also pay good points for offline invites to SG (maybe by sending a token through email now that we have that functionality?) as well as offline promotions/demotions? too. Thinking about the 1-man SG here. 200 points for 5 invites?

Quick question: if you didn't enjoy the dual blade powerset because the combos made you feel like the game was telling you how to play, will you have the same issues with Street Justice or is it totally different?

As well as possible Base Bundles would you be prepared to pay paragon points for specific base items (like telepads) or for specific item recipes (like an improved pad) ?

Because once upon a time I did use the AE search facility to find story arcs and I came here not because I couldn't find story arcs but because I wanted to find the ones this community thought the best. If there were no farms, that is how it would be. Now, coming here seems the only reasonable way to find story arcs.
Having the AE swamped with largely cookie counter farm missions is not good for anyone. Not even the farmers. And the small number of farmers that get bored and decide to run the a story arc must surely be minuscule compared to those looking for stories that have given up in frustration. -
Actually I think this forum should maintain a list of the best Farm Mission. Perhaps if there was a list of the acknowledged best farms then everyone and his dog wouldn't feel the need to build their own!

In short (because we've had this thread before) the things I like about the new low level content:
- They way you chose your alignment
- The first mission arc and its nice use of phasing tech that allows you to clear Atlas of Arachnos
- Death from Below
- The character development in the Twinshot arcs
The things I dislike are too long to list really. But the single biggest is that the early content has been massively reduced. Where I once had a different story arc route based upon my origin, it is now all the same and I am already bored with it. Similar feelings about the old red side content is why I don't have many villains. That worries me. So far I have found Freedom to be a great success but the starting levels need to have more variety otherwise Freems will not create new characters, will get bored and will leave. -
Quote:Quite the reverse actually.Yes, the whole idea of 'fixed points in time' is a ridiculous bit of writing oneself into a corner; you end up with a story about a guy with a time machine who can't change time, can't actually affect anything: pointless.
If time could continually be rewritten you'd just keep at it ground-hog day fashion until you arrived at an outcome you liked and stop there. There would be zero drama or consequences. So authors need devices for why some things cannot change. This is why Doctor Who has always had the rule about crossing your own time line.
Otherwise you end up with stories where the Doctor just gets upset and rolls everything back. Which is ****. Yes, TV Movie, I am looking at you -
Watched it last night and enjoyed it immensely.
Amy and Rory were great. Amy looked particularly sexy too!
I liked the way they subtly implied that River and the Doctor will get married properly at some point in time. Sweet. -
Do they do a version for the garden?
Damn cats!! -
Quote:Why is it that sometime EB seem to make more intelligent use of their powers than the AV version? Is it just the RNG or something deeper?i dont like EBs because they yield the same reward as bosses while AVs yield 10x reward of a boss and if you know what your doing not that hard to take down
Anyway thats another reason why I prefer EBs -
Quote:Thats a highly biased view of the AE.If farms did not exist, people would still use the forums to find decent peer-reviewed storyarcs. The situation would not be different at all. (Mainly because instead of tonnes of crap farms to sift through, we would instead have tonnes of crap storyarcs.) In fact I am sure there are some farmers who, having grown bored of farming, decided to check out some storyarcs in the AE. I remember a thread recently where a couple members said that were it not for farming drawing them to the AE...that they wouldn't have bothered with the storyarcs there.
Farming is driving traffic to the place your stories are located. It's a good thing.
If you want people to play your arcs then promote them heavily. Just like in the real world, you can't expect the system to do the work for you. -
You realise that probably has nothing to do with NCSoft and probably a great deal to do with your bank?
Just because an online retailer reports these things doesn't mean it was their systems that flagged it up. After all, if they get the right credentials then the banks are pretty much honour bound to cough up.
I have had my credit card refused once by NCSoft. It was nothing to do with them. My bank had installed new "security features" and had decided that the charge on my card that I had been paying monthly for 3 and a half years was suddenly suddenly suspicious and blocked it without telling me. <Muttley>snassel frassel rassel</Muttley> -

To be honest, although I have read previous version of Starfire I didn't care that much that they had changed her character. I simply found the new version offensive. Had it been a totally new character I would have also found it offensive.
I buy a lot of comics (far too many for a bloke my age) so I am used to a certain amount of misogyny in comics, when I see it I just don't buy the works of that author. I found this offensive enough that I stopped purchasing DC.
