Quote:I suspect the only reason is that it would require the Devs to place a teleport marker on every map. Just guessing though.Yeah I don't see any good reason why LRT doesn't allow teleport to any non-level gated area on a given side (like The Hive being 45+).
Maybe that was the problem? Some trick of the level gating code, since old hazard zones were.
I'd be more tempted by LRT if it could teleport you everywhere and if I didn't have so many ways of teleporting round zones anyway. What with Oroboros and SG base teleports and contact teleports and market teleports and mission teleports and even a few magic doors littering the place you kind of want more bang for your buck if you are going to use an actual power selection
LRT should also be a permanent mission teleport. -
Yeah but if Galactor hadn't necro posted someone would have just moaned at him/her for not using search

Quote:That's a change that should be done anyway and "might" make them more popular with Heroes too!Thing is, it would also require changing the SSTFs as most (all?) of them have missions that take place outside of the SS.
Okay, being realistic, it won't. However it might put off slightly less -

Quote:I'd disagree that Gwen counts. Primarily because back in 1973 killing off a hero's girlfriend just didn't happen. Plus it was a great story. It's not about the gruesomeness of the death - Gwen Stacy counts as stuffed in a fridge.
To call Gwen Stacy a WIR death would be like complaining Shakespeare speaks in cliches
ps: It is Comic Book Law that "Gwen Stacy" and "J. Michael Straczynski" may not be mentioned in the same conversation unless it is to explain Comic Book Law. -

Quote:Not sure that Praetoria is any different from the rest of the game except that Praetoria contact actually DOES let me choose the outcome is certain places. My issue with Preatoria and First Ward is - they are completely path locked.
You do this and get this contact - do that and get that contact and you don't get to choose what happens. It is exactly like a first person shooter where you must move in a certain path.
In Paragon City I have many contacts and can do many various things from TF's to normal arcs. In Praetoria I can do one thing - missions chosen for me.
If Praetoria seems at all "path locked" compared to Paragon City that's only because Paragon City has more content. I did not get any choices at all in Striga Island, Crotoa, Ouroboros or Cimeroa. -

Seems like it shouldn't be too much work to make the area co-op. <insert standard code rant here> -

The misogyny in the new 52 makes me wish I had a daughter so I could ban her for buying them.
Unfortunately my son already thinks all super hero comics are "silly dad stuff" -

For all the unlikelihood of it ever happening I still think one big pool for all travel powers is the way to go. However perhaps the better solution is to have all the current first tier and second tier powers mixed together as tier one and the rest as tier two. Any two tier one powers grant you access to tier two.
That would allow you to do everything you can do now. To have Hasten, Combat Jump and no "real" travel power. To have Hover and Teleport or Hover, Teleport and Long Range Teleport. -
Just for the record I originally titled my suggestion as "Silly" but changed it to "Amazing" because "silly" was provocative enough. I am not expecting Positron to appear here and announce its take up and I am not going to start a campaign to get it implemented. Brilliant though it is
Mind you if a suitable "non-super-powered" movement was part of the pool that would make it work for the strict RP crowd and if you are using Ninja Run to min/max then I have no sympathy. Well ... maybe a little -

Quote:Actually I misunderstood you. I thought we were talking about build options being removed from the game. So yes, my suggestion would mean that one qualifying selection would grant you access to all options. It's a little more than that-- let's say you want a character with Fly, and you want both Burnout and Afterburner.
Well, currently, you'd need to take 3 powers in the Flight pool (Flight, one other, and Afterburner), and 3 powers in the speed pool (two powers + Burnout). That's 6 powers, and that means you've got 3 powers you didn't specifically want, meaning you likely had to sacrifice other choices to get them. But with your suggestion, you can take just Flight, Afterburner, and Burnout without sacrificing 3 other power choices to get there. -
No, they really aren't.
Quote:If you have to miss out on the event because you can't or don't want to do it, then you have several other viable options for an entertaining experience during the Winter event.
Myself, I wasn't here last year so I don't know. However I dislike the trend. -
What were they advertising?
If you don't tell me how am I suppose to google the advert! -
Quote:It only removes one, that you have a character with no movement power but Hasten, Combat Jump etc etc.Edit: The above was all written without considering the fact that Jagged suggested that all non-travel powers in the pool be Tier 2 powers. Yeah, that removes some hard choices.
But it wasn't THAT serious a suggestion because, as you say, its too late. -
Quote:So you entered the zone via a super big present? I wasn't here last year, that sounds cool. LFG queue? Less soIn this particular instance, I am okay with it. Last year, I found that mission to be most successful when we had more than one team. Not full teams mind you, but if I saw at least 12 players gathered around the present, I felt we had a very good chance at success. And now that we can schedule the events as we see fit rather than waiting for a present to spawn, I think this addition to the LFG tool is worthwhile.
Not keen on the requirement for 12 people either.

Quote:Thats why I suggested merging them all into one pool. Pick one travel power first which then unlocks all the other options.I can agree with this. Travel powers themselves are now open directly to level 4 players, but the fourth and fifth powers are not. So if I picked Teleport as my travel power but chose to take neither Teleport Foe (because it sucks) nor Recall Friend (because I rarely team) and chose Hover, instead (so as I don't drop out of the sky if I lag a bit), then taking Zone Teleport would require me to take a wasted power just to have it. If, by contrast, I say "This character is a teleporter!" and have teleportation powers open to me, that would help greatly.
I only take Hover on Teleporters or characters with Snipe attacks. I find Fly works better for my Melees than Hover. Air Sup is great for melees that melee with their fists but the ones that use weapons wish they had a different choice -
Quote:No **** Sherlock! You keep painting this problem that doesn't exist and ignore the advice that would alleviate the issue. At this point the thread seems to be getting very repetitive.
Quote:My last thought is to remember this, if you invite someone to give City of... a try make sure you e-mail them some cash so that at least one problem is resolved. Or, i guess, talk them into turning off experience for a few days while they grind some farms/story arcs in the twenties. -
That was actually quite interesting. Still not convinced about 3D though. Last few trips to the cinema I've taken I have chosen the 2D option when its been available.

Quote:Server lag didn't help. I had characters KO'd when on my screen they were miles away. The warning on the Abomination's specials was a bit too short; some of my melees got KO'd repeatedly due to their own animations.
I say "server" lag because I am almost always first to zone in so my machine and internet connection is pretty good.
