Quote:With that screwy logic everything could cost 1000 points and still be "free".The dog costs 500 points. Subscribers get a monthly allotment of 400-550 points for free. Therefore the dog at most costs subscribers 100 points for those not willing to save up their free points.
Who cares what it costs Free or Premium players. They can afford the 500 points from the $15 bucks they are saving by not having a subscription.
The only way the dog could get less expensive for subscribers than free is if they paid us to claim it.
OP: Nice as the new pet looks I don't think its worth 500 points. So I will only buy it if there is a sale or they lower the price. Which given the recently implemented limit of one vanity pet active per player, that may be the Devs intention with this pricing point. -
I used to enjoy the old Sewer Trial
I also used to enjoy running round after carry a PANCAKE big gun
Haven't touched it since the Kraken xp nerf. I never used them to power level but at the same time I wasn't interested in doing a mission where I got nothing from the toughest enemies. -
If you can carry it around in a handbag its NOT a dog

Quote:I think you are right. Its probably better for the films to be completely disconnected from the TV series, so that I can happily ignore them with regard to continuity etc etc.A movie could and should not be too closely associated with the tv show. It's one thing to do Star Trek, where you had a five-year show and then continued the story ten years later across six movies. It's entirely another to try and explain nearly thirty years of television, eleven actors, a few dozen companions, the Time Lords and the nature of time travel as it works in the show in a single movie.
The statement about starting from scratch still rubs me up the wrong way though -

Totally agree. I'd even say that the invention system goes makes the whole enhancement system less linear because it removed one of the "level locking" elements i.e. You never out level IOs

Quote:Unfortunately I have been informed that the nature of that mission has changed. You no longer go in and beat up Tyrant but just one of his goons in a Tyrant suitI think that makes rescuing him at the end of Maria's arc that much more enjoyable, knowing your character succeeded where he and his ego failed.

An adjustable cap would be nice. Especially if there was a command line option as well.

Quote:Completely and utterly agree.Which is all the more reason to have him be an incarnate level AV in the last arc if it's players who kill him. *nod*
Although if there was an Incarnate trial to Un-Well him, followed by a normal mission where we got to finish the job I would be even happier -
Quote:I disagree but we won't know until a movie has the courage to go there. Generally speaking film producers simply have not had the guts to attempt it outside of a few exceptions like Spiderman and the Roth Superman. It will be interesting to see the approach The Avengers will take. They have given their leads a film each to get the public use to them in costume and it looks like the main event will be embracing it.My point is that those costumes would've been a failure on film. The general public would've taken one look, equated the super-suturated spandex outfits with the Power Rangers and summarily dismissed the X-men as kids' stuff.
Interestingly the Marvel franchises seem to be embracing their colourful roots and taking theatre-goers with them, while DC is ... well ... being DC
I think some directors lack confidence in their vision and use a revamp of the costume as a crutch to hang their "gritty realism" upon. Which has lead the otherwise excellent Nolan movies to feature a lead character that cannot look left and right to safely cross the street. While the less said about the new Superman costume the better. Could have been worse I suppose. -
I wasn't here last year but the old way of entering the mission sounds pretty cool.
The LFG system is anything but cool
So I also lament the way expanded use of the LFG system continues to divorce missions from the game world. *sad panda* -
I do not agree that the dislike/hate for Statesman is mainly lingering hate for Jack, although no doubt that doesn't help.
The Statesman character is generally written as an authoritarian, belligerent no-it-all. The Statesman character in game (until the introduction of the Incarnate stuff at least) was operating at dreamy heights our characters could never achieve. None of this is particularly conducive to warm relationship.
I, as a player, do not like the character. The characters I play in this game (hero and villain) don't like Statesman either. Thats not entirely bad though because on a number of occasions I have been able to put him in his place, either but saving his bacon or whuppin his butt! -

It seems the BBC has learnt nothing.
I was quite excited when I heard it was David Yates directing because I thought he had been very respectful of the Potter source material. So I was shocked when the next quote said "the show needs quite a radical transformation". This will not be getting any of my money.
More disappointingly, I suspect this movie maybe the BBCs answer to the question "what shall we do for the 50th anniversary" -
Quote:Yeah, they'd have to call it something else, probably something alliteratingIn any case, they are called "signature" summons. If they aren't listed among the signature heroes/villains ... then they won't be added ... Though, I agreee it would be cool.
I want numina. ;D

I believe posts in the "Issue 21 Special Update: Media Blitz VIP Beta" section said nothing had changed. No idea if that is true or not since I was on hiatus last year.

Quote:Isn't that up to me? For example the hero arc with Vanessa DeVore has at least grudging respect and generally moves into grey possibly friendly areas if you wanted to read between the lines. As evil as she is I find it easier to imagine her doing me a favour than Statesman.I doubt they would add her to heroes or any of the AVs to villain Because we don't work for/with any of them.
The point being its up to me to decide who my characters are on friendly terms and adding more AV/Hero level characters to the Signature Summons roster provides people with more RP options. Especially if they match options from the Lore powers.
What do you mean? She's an Arch Villain. -
Quote:Too true. The thing about stories, movies, books, etc, is that if the villain sucks then the story sucks.
"You can always judge a man by the quality of his enemies."
- Oscar Wilde
Least I think its Oscar Wilde, but it was quoted in a recent Doctor Who so that's what Google keeps returning. Its might be something Sherlock Holmes said as well, but then Oscar Wilde came first. Anyway, rambling, whoever said it, its true for stories as well -
Can I offer the suggestion that group leaders like Vanessa DeVore become options for the Signature Summons power as part of the rolling selection of Tier 9 VIP goodies?
Personally I would love to be able to summon up a few Carnies via Lore powers and then top it off with Vanessa and I am bet other players have particular AV level characters they would like to see in the list. Especially if they match a Lore powerset.
Hopefully alternative AV characters would be relatively easy to add as new Tier 9 options. Code Rant excepted of course
