  1. I can see why minions with rage, gang war, nukes, et cetera are a problem, but I don't see any reason why every single rez shouldn't be available with the custom setting at all ranks.

Then again, I suppose that'd higher reward than risk. Sigh.
  2. More tactics than anything. Honestly, there isn't much that will really test your tactical ability though. But in the case of doing intensely difficult things in this game, it takes a surprising amount of thinking on your feet to survive.
  3. Figured it was too good to be true. Sigh, oh well.
  4. I was excited to see that I could finally give minions a self-rez (and some other nasty tricks) with Custom. However, they don't seem to use it. In fact, they seem to use only their standard/standard powers. So, is this intentional to prevent nuking minions or did I do something to screw up their AI?
  5. Normally, I'd disagree *intensely* with this, but if Ouroboros were reworked to be available just a little lower and allowed us to do old task forces, it'd work out and everyone (that isn't impossible to please to begin with) would be happy.
  6. Not what I claimed at all. About the taunting at least. You don't need a taunt or to taunt in any way to brute.

I can't help it if someone repeatedly brings up Footstomp and Consume every time they speak about punchvoking and fails to explain how this makes all brutes tanks. Now, if he were to, say, suggest that Super Strength is good at holding aggro, I'd wholly agree.

It's absolutely not overpowered when you consider the sets, and you have to consider the sets... to compare sets... and then claim 'overpowered', lol.

Rage simply allows SS to do damage on par with competing sets - without it, it's clearly sub-par. With rage, its a top damaging set, but to achieve this, you have to use an entire power, and slot it, just to do damage similar to that of competing sets like SM, that don't have to use the extra power and slots. Now the to hit bonus is great, but SS definitely pays for it with an end crash, 10 seconds of uselessness every couple of minutes and a defense penalty every couple of minutes.

Then people complain about footstomp, and yeah, it's a great power, but it SHOULD be, because it's SS's only aoe power and it's the sets tier 9 power. Remove footstomp from SS and the set is pretty damn lackluster, with a bunch of pitiful single target attacks with little to no damage mitigation.

The bottom line is, SS is fine as-is. It's a popular set that many players/customers LOVE. If it aint broke, don't fix it. This game would be a HELL of a lot better if the devs focused on fixing things players didn't like, or sets that players/customers didn't play (by improving them and making them more attractive) rather than nerfing and messing with sets and powers their customers clearly enjoy, as evidenced by their popularity.

Or maybe the devs will focus all of their efforts on i16 'Calming the Rage' that will consist of SS nerfs, more badge removals and a new hat costume piece with matching boots. Then they can move on to i17 'Where the hell did everyone go?'.

So having one power that basically validates your otherwise crappy primary is a good thing? Gee, where does this sound familiar...

If I didn't love SS, I wouldn't have taken it to 50. But I wouldn't complain if Rage got dialed back in exchange for the rest of the set getting a buff either.
  8. Try playing your brute like a brute.

Even if I'm not a tank and I can't soak that much damage, I'm still first in for the Fury and the resulting SMASH. I can take an alpha, but I can't flat-out tank. If you did build your brute to the point where you can truely tank, I shudder to think what you sacrificed, and weep for what you are missing out on.

    A Spines Brute?

Claws brutes, however, would be seckzy.
  10. Short answer, don't do it. Though all things considered, at least you wouldn't be giving them... Resurgence... *shudder*
  11. [ QUOTE ]

Actually, the cap varies by AT. It caps for most at 175%, but there is also a 200% cap and a 225% cap (the latter being where Brutes sit).

    [/ QUOTE ]

My bad, I was thinking 175 for brutes for whatever reason.

I'm still going to say that having 155% defense over the softcap is still a bit much of a buffer...
  12. Given that AVs and GMs resist debuffs rather heavily, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you can't entirely pin it on negating regen.
  13. I've been up for 30 hours nonstop and even I can't miss that sarcasm. Needs more bite if you ask me.

I'll meet you in the arena. Your blaster vs. my kin, [censored].

    FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

Perhaps if you were a little more mature in your approach, you wouldn't need to preemptively accpet so many apologies.
  15. What's particularly nice about Soulbound in PA is that if it procs on any of them, they all build up.
  16. Yeah, not like dominators can achieve high levels of recharge with IO sets. But that's for another thread.

Rage is overpowered, that isn't a secret. Come on, now.
  17. Seeing as the hardcap is 175% as far as I know... yeah, 200% might just be a little much.
  18. Rage could probably use a nerf as a standalone power, but Jab, Punch, and Haymaker should really be buffed simultaneously if it was. They're pretty lame as standalone attacks.

Not that it will anytime soon. I wouldn't mind it having a look though.
  19. As stated earlier in the post, that'd be evasion, not a passive aura that only SR brutes have. I'm 50 levels familiar with both SR and brutes (and quite a few more in brutes, SRs, and SR Brutes who haven't made it to 50). My brutes aren't tankers, my SRs don't suck ITFs or otherwise. If you were killed at the defense hardcap, you were either ridiculously near death anyway and they scored a lucky hit (a 5% chance to be hit at all times, after all), that isn't a problem with defense. If you're talking about the autohit nictus, no fix to defense is going to save you there.
  20. I don't suppose you were the Dominator I was teaming with on Test earlier? (Alexander Hellcaster is my Dominator on Test)

Either way, I completely agree. The changes require some reslotting, but there isn't a single combo now that is less viable now than it was before. And a great majority that are far more viable and fun.
  21. Actually, Evasion does have a built in taunt aura that is delightfully unadvertised. Brutes only, to be clear.

    And on that note:
    [ QUOTE ]
And brutes do have a taunt aura...just by being brutes. If you don't believe me, park your brute next to a grey enemy who would have no business attacking you...and he'll take a swing at you.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Don't spread silly rumors. This is false. They have a slight, ST gauntlet effect on hit, but brutes do not have a passive taunt aura.
  22. You carry around a crapload of purples on a softcapped /SR?

That aside, I'm actually curious as to what you were doing when you died well above the defense hardcap. Maybe we could understand your complaint a bit better if you put it in context.
  23. I'm surprised no one has called him on having at least 160% or so defense from IO sets.

What in the ever loving hell are you slotting? I'd kill for that kind of arrangement on an actual resist-based brute.
