    Some final shots

    Nice!

Although my final shot will, appropriately enough, be of Jack.

    **** no.

  4. Look, carebearing is hard work. It takes practice. Don't get discouraged.
  5. My favorite MOG next to CoH is Minecraft for much this reason.

The main problem is that you *do* need a way to quickly join another group of players in order to have a good travel-adventure within the constraints of an MOG, and thus the taxibots are born.

    Old News

I've been scrounging up historical news on City of Heroes and I thought this could yield a few laugh-at-the-muggles moments.

Hahaha, I wish. City of Heroes never had 1mil simultaneous subs in NA. (I don't know anything at all about numbers in Asia for "City of Hero," and while EU numbers are significant, they're even smaller than NA ones.) We peaked at between 250-300K and dipped and rose several times.

    Here's a capture of one of MMOGChart's old plots : http://kotaku.com/179231/active-mmo-...tions-97-to-06 . ED occured in 2005.
  8. Also, I can't keep responding to this thread or I'll end up in a discussion about whether or not it's just to allow people to enter into contracts that are themselves unjust (or what 'good faith' means in a patron/client relationship). RAAAGHH DOWN THAT ROAD LIES SLAVERY /rawls

In CE's defense, I find the IP and copyright laws inherently unjust and unsuitable to deal with the virtual communities of the world.

Anyway, I at least agree this isn't the issue to ride that particular ticket on. HOWEVER, I do think we can hang some of our support lines on the idea that this is a community, it is a sort of landmark. We have at least the same kind of vestment in this that a neighborhood has in a park it's losing to make way for a new car lot.
  10. Oh, the only person *I* ever expect to get put on ignore by is Canny (Arcanaville), in part because I insist on calling her Canny -- a brick joke I now despair of ever getting to drop.
  11. Well, if it means anything, I never put you on ignore. Good luck out there; it's full of sharks.

It's ok. PvPers can't help it.
  14. Stewart would probably mock us. I don't think Colbert would, but we'd have to give it a good pitch or he'd politely ignore it.
  15. Yes, it's true. But as she herself pointed out, it kind of banks on "writer" being a class of celebrity endorsement in Korea that it isn't so much over here.

(Have you ever seen Gaiman on a cereal box? Orson Scott Card's name was all over a video game series, and it had awful sales and got canned very quickly.)
  16. Well, I mean... Gaiman and Hamilton just retweeted something for us. Which is fantastic for the amount of awareness involved, but it isn't quite on the same level as the amount of work Ms. Lackey (and by extension, her husband ) has put in to this.

    Hehehehehe

A giant, layer-dressed you being aggressively washed by 50 heroes?

...Huh. Actually, I might've had that dream too. Only sometimes I was just a regular-size me standing next to me, desperately trying to explain that what I really needed was a toothbrush.
  18. Topic :

Slowly, two or three years from now, with a couple servers still running despite the sequel being out.
  19. I took a few, but this is my favorite, aliasing and all :

  20. Maressa, if I run into you anywhere, you will *not* escape the bearhug.
  21. You won't be un-VIPed and even if you were, Beta is open access now.

Edit: And I am certain of both. My rebill date has come and gone and I'm still VIP, and I have a Premium friend who plays on Beta with me.
  22. This isn't a petition, it's a campaign. Send lots -- but the best thing to do would be to space them out, like sending one every day or few days.
  23. Ah, I was wondering. Fantastic, Maressa; thank you. I'll print out a few dozen this week.

It's like, 30s to register. Media attention is the very best thing we can get. Please, every upvote counts; people are certainly making their downvotes count against us.
  25. Shhh. There's no way that the police boxes in Dark Astoria were actually power conduits used by the Dream Doctor to destroy the Bataleks.
