Sooo...can we have /Kin MM's now? Please?
[/ QUOTE ]
I've said it before:
Before this change, I would have been indifferent at best to Kin MMs because of the difficulty of leveraging Fulcrum Shift on all your pets (especially if you played a ranged set like Thugs or Bots). The main draw for Kinetics would be Speed Boost. Unfortunately the best aspect of that power will no longer work properly on pets in I14, so now I really couldn't care less if MMs get Kinetics. I'm hoping for Sonic or Cold, myself.
[/ QUOTE ]
/Sonic would be kool for sure.
But as far as SB being the main reason for /Kin, I doubt it. They should still get the +movement which will help, but FS hits around the target and the caster so very easily positioned to get all ur pets imho (can hit both melee and ranged at once). Plus Siphon power and ID, it will be a great set for MMs : ) -

Objective:
Our Speed SFs have gone from Fastest to best Merit/Hr. It has increased the diversity of which SFs we do thou so that's good
Subjective:
Pls, please, please lower the timer on the DR for Merits 20hours at the most. Because most people play at the same time each night during the week, we can't run the same SF again the following night.

I'm really hoping it'll be reasonably easy to get time cards in New Zealand...looks like I'll be relocating there soon(possibly as early as March '09), and I have NO intention of leaving Paragon City anytime soon....
[/ QUOTE ]
You can definitely buy them here Blitz, but they aren't that cheap. $60 for 60 days last time I checked. My wife and I just use the C/C option online.
(Btw, we have the biggest NZ and Aussie population on Justice, S.I.N.I.S.T.E.R. VG. Not to sure about hero side)

As annoying and painful as they must've been, the Atlas Nuke and Kronos at the Raid videos were pretty funny. I was thinking these guys are real jerks, then I found myself LOLing. -

As an EM lover, I'm not wholely against changes to ET. I could understand the animation being made kooler and a little longer, but please don't stuff with it's damage. EM is the only thing that has made Stalkers fun to play for me up till now (before the latest patch) and ET is a big part of that. Please don't make it a super long animation like Total Focus, but an increase in animation time to balance the awesome damage will be justified.
Beware the backlash thou...not all EM players will be as easy to satisfy as me and that would be a pretty big nerf to a lot of players...to be honest, I've always wondered why EM was given such a great and reliable secondary effect as stun. With it's high damage (like Fire) I would've thought that was enough, or lower the mag on the stuns...that would be a lot easier to get away with

My wife does transcription (medical I think) and she says its about double the time of the talking to transcribe with fairly decent typing speed. So the 1.20hr would take approx 3hrs I'm guessing
Not quite as daunting as 9hrs

Thanks for the list.
I don't know about anywhere else, but in New Zealand the time cards went from NZD30.00 for 60days to NZD60.00 for 60days back before CHRISTmas. Admittedly we had it good at NZD15.00 a month (~USD12.00), but now it's just cheaper to pay by credit card, even thou it's in USD and we get a currency charge on the credit card.
Is that how it's supposed to be?

The branching dialogue sounds awesome! IMHO that's gonna add heaps to the game. For example, the mish where you can either let Dr. Aeon's true identity come out or squash the reporters, you could actually choose! And there could be real consequences. That's what makes the stories somewhat unengaging for me, the fact that some you can't choose, and the ones that you can, there's no consequences. This sounds really kool.
And I think VEATs are gonna be very team orientated from seeing their secondaries. It'll be interesting to see what they play like

Thanks Castle, good to know you're listening
And Castle said only the repel portion of tk will not effect players.

Totally Awesome! Great job on the implementation, I couldn't have asked for better (4 slots up front, yes!).
Once again you've proven why I keep coming back to this great, fun and well run and managed game

(and I'm not OCD, I just like to...ah...ORGANISE my slots)

This is truely a unique game (I wonder if ever player thinks that about their MMO?). After 2 and a half years I'm still excited to hear the great stuff you guys come up with on a consistant basis. And judging from BaB's and Castle's comments, it's obvious a lot of hard work and dedication has gone into the game to make it this great...I've even managed to get my wife hooked now, and let me tell you, that was no easy task! lol
Thanks Devs for all the hard work and giving us a great place to spend our spare time

Well even though I knew what the sets were I have to say I'm still disappointed that Scrappers are not getting a punching set. After, what 4 years, of people practically begging for a pure punching set for scrappers the devs finally have a chance to correct this huge oversight in their original design, and they don't.
Even if I like some of the other stuff getting ported this whole thing is 'massive fail'.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no "Punching Set" to port over to Scrappers in this round of Powerset Proliferation. A "Punching Set" is a brand new set and we don't know exactly what any of the new Sets will be (besides the Villain EATs) or when they'll show up. There's been Dev comments (not confirmations) that a 'Streetfighter Set' is 'in the works' (which may mean 'didn't pan out').
[/ QUOTE ]
I may be missing the point, but couldn't SS be ported over? Or is that not the type of punching set being talked about? It doesn't seem that "fitting" for Scraps thou IMHO. -
Wow!
Fire/Fire Scraps will be fun.
I'm not a fan of Tanks in general, but Dark/Dark seems to be a great choice for them.
/Thermal trollers will be awesome! One of my favourite sets Villain side.
Anyone that PvPs is gonna want to make a Psi/Psi Blaster and, lets be honest, even us mostly Villain players are gonna want to - LH, I can see how it could be so/so in PvE, but at a guess I'm pretty sure it's gonna own to some degree in PvP.
Ice/Ice Def FTW! Ice is my favourite Villain powerset. The shields are kool
I've never really been into Storm myself, so can't really comment on that. Might be OK as a MM secondary with Botz/ but I think /FF fits better. Have to wait and see on that one. Would love to see /Kin on a MM but I can see that could easilly be overpowered, so /Sonic would be great
Same as above for Storm Corrs.
None of the Brute powersets excite me, great for those that wanted weapon based attacks thou. Be nice to see /Nin as a Brute secondary, not to sure on the fit thou.
Earth control for Doms...I don't know if I'll roll one of these. Earth always seemed to me like the "pure" form of hold, and from what I understand, has great AoE holds? Not a high priority, but if I ever am at a lack of something to roll, might happen. Got a Elec blaster, so Elec holds no interest. That'd change if there was an Elec hold set, that'd be fun
That brings me to Stalkers....
....
....
I don't want to be negative...so I won't be
At least the Primary isn't Smashing or Lethal dmg...?
Ice Stalker has a nice ring to it.
I'm mostly Villain side these days, but this issue might tempt me to roll a new Scrap and Blasta.
Mostly thou...can't wait for VEATs!!!!
GOD bless,
Shem
P.S. Pls try and keep the criticism constructive. Most people have their anger out the way, so post something constructive please. I feel you on most of the Villain stuff, but crying about it doesn't help anyone. If this was the last update ever for the game, cry Doom! But there will be more PP (and some new sets) so offer suggestions and be thankfull for what we did get
P.S.S. Nice job Devs, thanks for the hard work. You guys are awesome! -

From the above discussion about the Paid expansion - you could always link it to accounts and could only be bought by someone who already has a lvl 50 on that account. Make it an upgrade to existing accounts - "The deluxe account"...or "The leet kila account"

A good point raised in Stasis_'s link in his Sig...
-Def enhances should be nerved to be equal to Def, To-hit and -To-hit enhances IMHO -

1) You have the default To Hit value (ie no buffs), your target has no Defense value. How often do you WANT to hit him? Conversely, as the defender, how often do you expect to be missed?
2) You have the maximum possible To Hit value, and your target has no defense value. How often do you WANT to hit him? Conversely, as the defender, how often do you expect to be missed?
3) You have the default To Hit value, and your target has the maximum possible defense value. How often do you WANT to hit him? Conversely, as the defender, how often do you expect to be missed?
4) You have the maximum possible To Hit value, and your target has the maximum possible defense value. How often do you WANT to hit him? Conversely, as the defender, how often do you expect to be missed?

1/ I would say I would expect to hit and be hit 55-60%, all things being equal.
2/ I would expect to hit 90-95%, likewise if I was the defender, expect to be hit that often (whats good for me is good for others).
3/ I would expect to hit 5% of the time, even the worst fighter occasionally gets lucky
4/ I would expect DEF to outway To-Hit, so maxed DEF and Maxed To-HIT, I would expect to hit 30% of the time.
In saying that, I would slightly lessen the severity of those numbers for NPC's of roughly eqiuvalent lvl (say 10% instead of 5% against a maxed DEF NPC etc). Keep the +5 Purple rules thou that make it really hard to hit them, I think that's fair enough.
Overall I like the system as it is now, DEF just needs a big helping hand. Especially considering sets like SR have no mitigation, only DEF, so when you get hit you feel the whole thing. At the mo, if you have max DEF and the other Player has max To-Hit it feels like you make it a 50/50 hit/miss equation, and that hurts if thats all you have to defend yourself with

Mind you I'm just guessing here. But if I were to guess I would say that the basic IOs that we will be able to complete by solving the university mission in Steel Canyon would be level 25. And I'm guessing that they would be level 25 even if you crafted them at level 40. And I'm guessing they would provide a 29.5% bonus once you slotted them and the bonus would remain 29.5 even at level 50. Like I said though I'm just guessing.
And no I'm not in closed testing. If I were I wouldn't be stupid enough to even guess at things like this. I'm just guessing that if for a limited time there had been a way to get to the university from underneath then somebody might have discovered exactly what the basic IO crafting did.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's quite some specific guessing you got there
I personally don't see the point of crafting and slotting an IO until they start out-performing SO's. Before that the length of time they are gonna be superior to standard enhancements (TO's and DO's) is not long enough to justify the salvage. There is also the opportunity cost of the extra cash you could get for selling the recipe.
That's provided salvage and recipe drops at roughly the same rate as now so all guess work at this stage -
Great job Hegemon. Very informative. I love how you tried to show both sides of the arguement, not just your own opinion. Very Refreshing

Whether the notification comes up that it's actually been robbed or not is no big deal. As long as you defeat the robbers before they get to their escape vehicle, you're good to go.

What Martavius_ said. I'm not sure about actually stopping the vault from being robbed but as long as you "arrest" all the bad guys that have money bags you're all good. The ones you have to take out are all named e.g. "Looter Hellion Smasher" or whatever their actual names are.
Take all those out and mish complete

I love the Hollows. Especially with a WS or PB. The travel power makes the difference. Plus everyone on the team loves you for being able to port them to the mishs.
When Sprint is your travel power, not sooo much fun but still a great zone. After my 15th ff mish, I kinda wish the map was randomly generated though to break up the monotony 8) -
Awesome guide man, really appreciate it.
Thanks for taking the time
