    Look folks, there no evil powers sets or good powersets, just good and bad characters. Complete proliferation is one of the best things the Devs decided to do in this game. With switching sides coming soon, this old idea that only a hero can use a Broadsword or only a villain can lead a bunch of robots around is just old and done.

    If you want to complain that the ATs aren't special anymore then blame it on the Inherent powers not having a big enough effect, cause my brute having claws doesn't make you scrapper any less fun or cool.

    Aid self could definetly use some love too. Just for concept reasons it would be great to have a magical animation and maybe even another tech/natural option with the change costume emote where you inject yourself.

    I don't want to convince you or anyone else not to like the current eviscerate animation. All I'm saying is there are just as many people that hate it as there are that love it. It's a crazy over the top animation and you either like it or you don't. No reason to argue.

  9. I see what your saying, it's been a long time since I actually used eviscerate...does it even need a target? or can you just stand there and do it with noone around you like Spin? If you don't need a target, it makes things more difficult to swap out an animation.

    If you do need a target, I'm not sure it would be a problem. When selecting a different animation for an attack, the way the game works, you actually slecting an entirerly different power. They will keep the endurance cost, cast time, recharge, damage and maybe even the name the same, but to the game it will be an different power....at least I'm pretty sure that is how it works. If I'm correct, instead of this new version doing 124.5 damage to upto 5 enemies in a 90 degree arc, it could made to do to ticks of 62.25 to the targeted enemy and one shot of 124.5 to anyone else in the cone.

    I don't know if that would work or not to be honest, but the main thing is a new animation for Eviscerate. It doesn't have to be the animations I suggested, just a new second animation to choose from that flows with the set a bit better.

    Another great animation would be to hold your hands as far apart as possible, low and behind you...then coming up fast crossing each other above your head in a big X motion.....just not sure that it could be made to take up 2.33 seconds of cast time without having a lame and annoying pause at the end like Spin currently has.

    Umbral... Running as fast as the speed of sound like super speed is not the same and not what I'm asking for. Jumping over entire city blocks in one leap like Super jump is not the same and is not what I'm asking for. The only way to get this more "natural" mode of travel currently is to take swift, hurdle, combat jumping, and keep sprint on and put a slot or two in each of those powers. So selecting ONE travel power than allowed to to get around like this IS different.

    I'm sorry your so close minded that you feel your ignorant little opinion is law. To disagree or just flat out not like an idea is one thing, but to come in here spewing negative garbage about how I my idea is stupid and that I'm being deceptive in what I really want is both uncalled for and just [censored] rude.

    Why would you come in here and call me a liar and try to tell me what I really want? There is no trickery going on here. I want exactly what I said I want for the reasons I stated. 99% of my characters are natural origin and I would really like a natural travel power. I'd also like some other cool options like i mentioned, but I'd use the natural option from my OP the most. Period.
  13. Now that Brute are getting claws I can finally end my crusade of Claws4brutes! Now I've decided on my new crusade, so even though I've discussed this in a few other threads, I think it deserves it's own thread to gather support or at least gain attention.

    With the announcment that Issue 16 will bring the option to choose alternate animation for attacks in Super Strength and Martial Arts, the possiblity of alternate animation options for other sets has popped up. I think that Eviscerate is next logical attack to get this treatment. I'm sure many folks will have different attacks they'd like to see have alternate options, but Eviscerate has been the topic of many argument on these forums over the years.

    Just about anyone you ask that plays a claws charcetr will have a strong opinion on Eviscerate. Everyone seems to either love it or despise it. There is no arguing that it sticks out like a sore thumb in a set of quick, to the point slashing attacks, so an alternate option would likely be another such attack that gets right to the point instead of flipping backwards twice and strike with the back of your claws from a strange angle. I have an idea for this also.

    The animation time is 2.33 seconds, so any new animation would need to also be 2.33 seconds. My idea is to make a new attack that starts like Blinding Fient from Dual Blades which lunges both fists straight forward into the enemies gut, then like Sweeping Strike you would slash outwards as if to rip your enemies mid section open. This kind of simple gritty attack would fit the set well, it would still make sense as a cone attack, and it could easily be made to fit the 2.33 second cast time.

    Again, I know many folks love the current animation, and that's why this would just be an option and not forced upon anyone. It really is a win/win move that would please both sides.

    One problem I have with that is that Superstrength characters are naturally very accurate in this game due to the constant +to Hit from Rage. (Add in Invincibility if you're invulnerable and its even worse)

    Which comic character can I see most easily swiping at a Rikti drone and missing as it zips around him? The Thing! An SS/Inv Tanker.

    Now I think about it, taking the To hit out of Rage would be a very nice balance. You're strong and get a perma damage buff, but no To Hit debuffs, unlike the skilled weapon wielders who have Build Up.

    And you can't really make one power better than all the others in a game, no matter what the logic. Thats just bad design , especially for a multiplayer game.

    yeah but it's not really overpowered, it's just easy. A skilled player can take any set and make it just as good as SS. I outplay SS brutes on most teams I join with a DB brute. I also kill alot of SS brutes/tanks in PvP. If it was really overpowered, I couldn't do that. I think the set just takes very little thought to be effective and is great for farming even without an IO'd build. That's why so many folks are drawn to it.

    Noone liked this huh? After playing around on [censored] beta and seeing all these rad travel powers like a hover disk, going under ground like a mole, riding an ice slide like iceman, swinging from here to there, or flipping around like a super nimble gymnst.....it just really made me wish we had some more travel options.

    Dual Pistols

    I think Dual Pistols should be like claws in that the attacks do mostly moderate damage, but use little endurance and have fast cast times and recharge. I think they should get a combo system like Dual Blades to make it more interesting instead of just another lethal damage set. Here's my idea.

    I think a combo sysytem for Dual Pistols should only have two attacks per combo. This would accomplish many things. For one, it would make it very easy to give the set at least 8 different combos. With eight combos and eight different effects, you could really customize your playstyle just by controlling the order of your attack chain. At the same time, players who don't want to be bothered by a combo system could just fire away randomly and still get plenty of combo effects.

    I'd say make a combo for fire damage, toxic damage, chance for double lethal damage, -def, slow, stun, KB, and build up. With all these options you could really do whatever you want. Consentrate on control, or max damage, or a mix of both.

    I listed eight effects because I think the best way to do this would be to have eight attacks, each one equals an effect, no matter what the following attack is you'd always get the combo effect from the first attack. For example...


    Attacks A = KB
    Attack B = Slow effect
    Attack C = Toxic DoT
    Attack D = Build Up
    Attack E = Defense Debuff
    Attack F = Fire DoT
    Attack G = Stun
    Attack H = Chance for Critical Hit

    This way, you can always lead with the attacks that have the combo effects you want while using the attacks with unwanted effects as your second filler attack. Your attack chain doesn't have to be the same cookie cutter chain everytime to get the effects you want.

    You would also be able to choose a second attack based on what you want to do. If you want to slow an entire mob you'd lead with Attack B (slow effect) followed by a cone or AOE attack. If your fighting a boss you might lead with attack D (chance for build up) or H (chance for crit)followed by a quick animating single target attack to max your single target DPS.

    Just my thoughts. I'm sure it would need tweaked, but it should would be fesh and unique....and fun.
  17. I like it being a little overpowered. You look at the comics and you see the toughest most powerful charcters are almost always the super strength characters. While other powers can be just as powerful when used with skill, someone with super strength can be a complete idiot and still smash you with a car or put thier fist thru your head.

    My first 50 was a super strength/Invuln brute, and it was a great choice for my first because it was easy and aloud for a learning curve. I'm sure folks that don't like other people to farm, folks who PvP don't like it....but it doesn't bother me at all. Super Strength should be the strongest and easiest set in the game.

  20. No DP on Mids. I made one build with assault rifle/devices and another with archery/devices....I'm figuring I'll be able to do a very similar build with DP.

    Also, I think it's been mentioned it's pretty much the consensus that DP will be the "claws" of ranged sets with very fast cast times and mediocre damage per attack which equals high DPS.
  21. I'm going DP/Devices for an evil Blaster. I made a build on Mid's that looked very survivable with very little redraw....which is what I want. One thing I'm curious about is what Patron Power selections an evil blaster will get? In my build I went munitions epic and got body armor, which is a passive 8.5% resistance, but the Dominator and Corruptor Patron shields are toggles that give more protection. Anyone have an opinion on what Blasters will get?
  22. It is ridiculous. I usually get 25-30 a day. Earlier this week I ran a LGSF and recieved 8 spam emails just in the 40 minutes it took to run the SF.

    It's not that it is extremely difficult to open your email tab and hit delete 25-100 times when you log on, it's just annoying and I wish there could fix it somehow. I don't even use my email, but I can't stand seeing that little red email starign at me. I don't have any ideas on how to fix it, I just wish they would. My spam list filled up along time ago. Now if I try to mark it as spam it says my ignore list is full.
  23. It doesn't take long to get to 50 if you wanna PL, but if you take your time and enjoy the journey, doing as much content as possible along the way....it takes quite awhile. This is why I think all the AE farming will ruin the game. All these noobs are goona get bored and leave because they think getting to 50 as fast as possible is the point of the game, when in fact the journey to 50 is what this game is all about. Once you get to 50, eventually things do get repetative and boring.
  24. RttC being detoggled constantly is a mistake. It is the main toggle of WillPower and really makes WP pretty lame in pvp. They just need to remove the minor little accuracy debuff when in PVP so it doesn't detoggle anymore.
