Quote:There's a new interview online with Brian Clayton. He says, FLAT-OUT, that someone will die and be removed from the game - from zones, from missions - everywhere.Nobody dies, but we might get somebody come back to life (War Witch/Numina possibly)
Quote:This is so big, that our signature Heroes cant handle it on their own, so thats where the players get involved. When the dust has settled, one of the Freedom Phalanx will be dead.
And by dead, we mean theyre gone from the game. Were going in and taking them out from missions and zones. There will be a major ripple effect thatll affect the world once the death occurs. Even if you dont play the Signature Story Arcs, youll still experience the repercussions.
I'm curious to see what they will do if this is one of the heroes that awards a badge in Recluse's Victory. Will the badge be removed from the game? Will they change it so it awards for defeating a different hero? Of course, if it's Numina then there is no problem. She doesn't appear in RV. Neither does Citadel. -
Not exactly. He didn't state what they would get; only what they deserved.

Quote:Did they fix the Arcane ones yet? I tried several times and they did NOT take me there. They apparently still point to the original Galaxy City, which means you get dumped in Atlas Park. I heard that the tech ones work correctly. You can access an "echo" of Galaxy City from Ouroboros or through telepads with Galaxy City Beacons.

Quote:It has always been like that. 'Paid time' and 'veteran time' are really not related. Now looking at my account page, the only mention of my vet time is 2 years and 4 months paid time.
The difference is due to referring friends and free months offered in game packs.
Your next vet badge should show up on schedule. Of course, the only 'vet' badges now are the yearly ones. The 'every 3 month' badges are now based on Paragon Rewards level so they can be bought. -
Quote:No, it looks like some people are coming from a position of levelheadedness in regards to downtime. This is a GAME. It's not my bank, broker, phone company or electric company. It shows clearly you are coming from a position of privilege in regards to downtime and not prepared to accept others viewpoints.
Quote:edit: And to add before words are inserted into my meaning, I find the downtime very annoying, but at this stage I understand why there's a lot of it. I also think paragon has in the past has successfully minimalised the downtimes for those of us in Aus time zones, and I'm trusting it will go back to normal sometime. -

On blue side, the contact is a Lost named Theoden. He's standing outside the police station in Skyway. He may, or may not, show up on your map since the map settings got borked with Issue 21. You may have to adjust your map options for him to show up.
On red side, the contact is a CoT ghost named Alastor. I forget which zone he's in as I don't play red side that much and have only done his arc once. -

Quote:Absolutely. Just like we need a post about the downtime every single time.Quote:Usually there is multiples. And they deliver amusement (for me). This is a very slow day for them.
At least we have sufficient exaggeration. -

Quote:Not correct. It's 1 token per 1200 Paragon Points purchased. Larger purchases get you extra 'bonus' points and these extra free points *DO* count toward getting Paragon Points.Buy Paragon points to get reward tokens. 1 reward token for every $15 dollars purchased
Quote:$100 => 9600 points => 8 tokens plus the first time bonus 1 for 9 total.
Not that I am admitting to doing that... -
Quote:Actually, I think he had some trouble with the quoting function.I'm slightly confused. Are you replying to your own post and strongly disagreeing with yourself? Because that's kind of what it looks like.
This part below....
was written by ME in response to someone else. -
To me, this is completely a non-issue. For the overwhelming majority of my characters, being able to access both sides is irrelevant. If I want to play on the other side, I can just switch characters. My badge hunter and a couple of tanks are grey alignment. For everyone else, why bother?

Quote:Well, then. Obviously Premium players have to get absolutely everything for free. Clearly, anything less is literally a slap in the face. Can you name one thing that people actually care about that you could lock premium players out of that would *not* piss off players?
If not, then I refute your assertion that there's any difference between "gaming the system" and "pissing your potential subscriber base off." There's no daylight between the two. -
Quote:Easily. Right off, you don't get to keep any of your uber funky powers since the arc exemps you to level TWENTY. You'll probably even lose all your IO set bonuses. These signature story arcs are described by the giving NPC as a Task Force, which strongly implies they are designed for teams. Is it practical to try and solo these story arcs with anything other than a L50 toon with IOs and/or Incarnates at tier 4?
Soloing the signature story arc is a lot easier than soloing Mender Ramiel's arc. A lot. -
Quote:With the first comic, didn't you have PDF issues that made you go with the .cbz format? That would work again. I would definitely like a downloadable version.I'm hoping to put together a PDF version quite soon, but until then, people can just use tee links on each page to flip through them.
-
Because those bonuses apply regardless of your status (free/premium/VIP). And Aggie is right, you DON'T get drops.
-
Well, since the reward was indicated to be on a timer per character, I figured the timer applied separately to each character - just like so many other timers in the game.
I have no knowledge of how it's intended to work, but I expected it to work exactly as you're describing. I can't test it myself yet since it's only 4 days since I ran it on the first character (yes, I'm keeping track). -
Quote:This is true but, before the entitlement crowd jumps on it, let me point out that you would be paying all this extra money for something that was NEVER EVEN AVAILABLE previously. Anyone who thinks it's too expensive (like myself) can simply not buy it. You're not losing anything. How far your stipend goes seems to be entirely dependent on how much you actually want. If you want all the inventory increases, you're going to be out hundreds of dollars.
And I have to add this. FALSE!!! Stop spouting nonsense. Are you claiming we got every previous powerset for free? If so, that's a lie and you SHOULD know it. Or are you forgetting Demon Summoning, Dual Pistols, Kinetic Melee? -
Quote:They decried as a slippery slop leading to micro-transactions and no more free content updates. I, along with many Old Guard told them to sit on they're hands and be quiet the Devs knew what they were doing.
Then comes the I21 update. EVERYTHING in a micro-transaction. I was proven wrong.Quote:4. We are living in a time of low economy in the USA, and Europe, your prime playerbase, so Enough Micro-Transactions, VIP Players shouldn't have to spend money for what would have been free content in issues 1-19. New costumes, new powersets, all that should be VIP Content automatically.
Quote:You put in changes to severely curtail AE farming, but then expect us to farm Incarnate content. You push the farmers down, then encourage them to provide for your market in game. It is a VERY mixed signal.
AE farming has the potential to be 'bad farming'. The ambush farms are absolutely exploitive and a problem. If MARTy smacks that down hard, GOOD.
Quote:I'm begging here, enough with the Downtime. -
Quote:What a completely absurd argument. So, in your warped perception that leads to this conclusion, those 70 months that you actually got to play the game had zero value? To look at it another way:
I have 70 months of paid time in this game, and if you add the money I spent buying extra stuff I have spent approximately $1,200 on City of Heroes.
Now, unless it has changed, for every 1,200 PP you buy you recieve a Reward Token, correct?
If that is true, a brand new player who starts today can get to exactly the same permanent status as me by spending $450 all at once. That will entitle them to the sam 30 Reward Tokens I have. It will also give them 36,000 PP to spend on stuff (that is enough to unlock everything I have and then some).
Now, if that brand new player decides they will just permanently unlock stuff and never pay a subscription fee, they will have acquired everything that I have permanently available and will have spent 1/3rd the money I have. If it weren't for the fact that there are some things that are VIP exclusive I'd be feeling more than a little gypped.
