    It's very simple.
Anything you do that affects the market, you're doing it because you're a greedy pig. When I can't get what I want, at the prices I want, it's because 1) the market is broken, 2) greedy pigs are ruining the market, 3) both 1 and 2.

Wrong. If something is too expensive, don't buy it. Real life works that way too.

So you know some stupid people. Anyone buying from an RMT'er is a moron.

And now the entitlement factor shows up. Who defines a reasonable price? You? hmm.... How about the market?

Why else have purples went from 30mil -300mil? The drop rate didn't decrease. Everyone seen what someone could afford and now everyone has to be able to afford it or they don't get what they want. Like i said, greed.
Hello? Duh! Supply is only one side. Demand is the other. No one said the drop rate decreased, but that doesn't make greed the only other possibility.

If they're going to shell out for the Steadfast +def unique, a fraction of that cost could go to frankslotting budget IO sets for +recovery to easily bring in more endurance than Maneuvers will cost. One of my defenders has +34% recovery with no uniques. His entire build cost under 25 million.

On the other hand, if you've got the dinero, skip Maneuvers and get some defense in set bonuses. My shield tank has 51% melee and 48% range and AoE without Maneuvers.

I don't understand why so many people are clueless about how the market works.

Greed doesn't drive up the prices, demand does. It's not because there's roving packs of greedy pigs that list everything for tens of millions. It's because there are tons of players with billions of influence and nothing else to do with it.

And, let me guess, because they want the stuff and are willing to spend big bucks, that makes them the greedy pigs ruining the system, right? I know someone is going to go there. By this reasoning, your friends who complain that they can't get the stuff they *WANT* are greedy pigs too.

That's what makes it a huge, complex problem.
Any solution that doesn't accommodate existing bases is absolutely a non-starter.
  11. 1) Did we keep getting exactly four hordelings because the mission is hardcapped at that number, or would taking the team up to 8 members spawn us more on each map?
No, it's based on team size but there is also a random factor. You'll get more ON AVERAGE, by upping the team size.

    2) Did we keep getting exactly four because we kept resetting the mission (and so kept getting the same exact map,
No. Resetting the map resets it all. You can tell a mission has been successfully reset because you'll get the mission entry pop-up again and the map will be all blank.

If we also did the second mission, would that give us a better chance for more on the first mission?
um.. I forget which is which but when I was in a farm, I think we used the mission with Terigol. I'm not sure if someone figured out that was the best one, or we just ended up with that one for no good reason.

    4) If we were down to, say, a duo, would we still get four-per-map? Or would it drop to, say, two?
It would drop - dunno to what number.

Given the super-tight timeline to earn this badge, and the absolutely singular mission to get them to spawn, and given how quickly interest in doing Holiday content seems to fade (typically within the first week!), I could really use any tips or hints in how to maximize the chances of getting these two badges (plus the two gladiators attached to those two).
Join a badging channel on your server. The badgers *WILL* keep grinding those missions until they get the badges on as many of their toons as need it. Personally, I only hunt badges on one toon.

At any rate, my current monitor is acting up. I've already ordered a replacement with LED backlighting. Just waiting for it to get here.....

Okay, what I read here is:
I sat on my hands for 95% of the mission, letting the rest of the team do the work.

Had I noticed exactly what was going on, I would have written a playernote and one-starred you to avoid teaming with you in the future. I don't team with people I feel are leeches, whatever their justification. You may be a great RP-er and a great stalker. But, by your own description of events, I feel you were a poor TEAMMATE.

No, it was just a paid extra. And it should stay THAT way - they certainly shouldn't make it a vet reward, or give it away free in any way. But having it continue to be available for purchase makes perfect sense.

Leveling 'purists' like Bill are bad for mmos, because they revel in the greedy xp seeking types getting turned away by some stringent policy not against exploits, but just regular leveling.

Thing is those like minded are usually a very vocal, but small part of the population that subscribes to the game.
    Yes, yes, blah blah blah.
You make it sound like some vocal minority decided to nerf AE. Guess what, it was the Devs that made that decision.

  22. Short answer: yes.

    More detail:
All defense "soft caps" at 45%. Defense falls into two general categories: positional or typed.

The aspect where it becomes more complex for typed defense is: an attack is melee *OR* ranged. It can't be both. But an attack can be smashing and fire types at the same time.

So, say you have 45% smashing/lethal defense and 30% fire defense. You get hit with one of various fire attacks that is listed as smashing and fire. The game automatically picks the better of your defenses. You would get 45% defense vs a smashing/fire attack. So, answering your precise question: you would get that 45% defense if any part of the enemy attack is smashing or lethal. Many attacks are all smashing or all lethal, but your defense would be good against 'split' ones like the hypothetical smashing/fire attack I mentioned.

And, it can get even worse. Some attacks have no positional element. Some attacks are 'special' and ignore all defense types.

  24. Or this page. In the table of contents, click item 5 Enhancement Aspects and Schedules.

It gives a detailed explanation of the values for each schedule and what types of enhancements fall into which schedule category.

Edit: Bah! Fleeting Whisper beat me with the correct page.
