Led?

I was considering bumping my monitor (26") up to one of the new 40" Samsung LED's. I've played the game on my 46" plasma and it looks stupid good but because of the screen size it just isn't practical.

So I was wondering if anyone is playing on a 40" or above TV and how it's working out for them.

Anyone else expect a sweet, naive girl with robotic prosthetics who likes to build robots and wields a huge wrench?

Just me?

Dang. I've just recently moved up from an average 17" 1024 x 768 screen to a 22" 1920 x 1080 widescreen, and I'm still gaga over it. I can't even wrap my head around using a 40" or bigger screen...

I've used a 32, a 42, and a 47 at one point or another, each looks fantastic!.. but I advise strongly to use a high reslution, and use a DVI connection, not the VGA connection.

HDMI, if your card can hack it. HDMI-to-DVI if not.

Agreed. My old 9600 doesn't have HDMI, so I didn't think of that. I really need to get with the times. haha

Either way.. the standard VGA is not the way to go, even though many TVs feature that port now. I think one of mine even has the DVI right on it. lol

Yeah. I'm using HDMI-to-DVI right now, but some of my tax refund is going toward a shiny new ATI card so I can do full, true HD. Sadly, my 28" monitor died a horrible death and my replacement is "only" 23". But I will just 'deal with it'.

I couldn't afford one giant monitor so I went with three 22" monitors instead. Trying to talk KK into getting me a 52" one for her birthday.

Badging in a PvP zone?

If you are treasure hunting on a battlefield wearing an enemy uniform, there is a high probability that you will be attacked.

Well I'm humbled to say it really didn't work out too terribly well.

I went with the 40" Samsung LED as a reference for what's to follow ...

Color was amazing, it was like playing the game all over again with the range and depth the new display gave me. I am amazed how good this looks across all the different games I play.

Sound was really nice although a lot of people ding the reviews because the speakers are facing back instead of forward. Mine is close enough to a wall that it didn't take too much away.

Resolution was the killer though - it was still only 1920x1080 and with the larger display it just wasn't as well rounded and smooth as I expected. It wasn't an epic fail, but it was close. I tried a DVI-HDMI cable and an adapter for my card but it made no real difference.

I will say that watching video on this TV is jaw dropping - it looks truly life-like.

Just thought I would throw this out there in case it helps anyone else!

The speakers built into TV's and monitors are.... hm, the word I want to use would probably be censored. Let's just say, "less than sterling quality".

At any rate, my current monitor is acting up. I've already ordered a replacement with LED backlighting. Just waiting for it to get here.....
