Back and forth, perhaps not. But since I have thousands of merits blue-side and hardly any on red, I'm planning to load up one mule with stuff like LotG to deliver to my villains that need it.

Could it be set up like coalitions? ... Where the players' apartments are linked to the SG somehow?
People would still join an SG for functionality that the apartments don't provide. For example, it makes sense that a private apartment would have some storage, but not a teleportation system. The apartments should be designed as a very limited 'shadow' of bases.

Since we wouldn't want the ability to have an apartment to be restricted to those in an SG, the apartments would have to be completely separate from SG bases. Every character would have the option of having an apartment, regardless of SG membership.

Of course, then we need to come up with a way to pay for it. Using influence? If it uses prestige, you'd have to choose between your SG and your apartment. Perhaps have what you can buy be based on level?

While all of these changes are very much necessary to the game as a whole, I can't help but wonder why PVP is largely ignored? There are piles of broken powers, unbalanced powers, useless powers, and strange counter-intuitive measures in place. (Heal Decay & Travel Suppression immediately springing to mind.) There are no PVP bug fixes, tweaks, or balancing in any of the new issues. I don't understand why PVP is being ignored so much?
    The answer is quite simple.
MA is being constantly updated/changed because it's still new.
Badges are being constantly updated/added because a trained monkey could handle it.

PvP has not been largely ignored. Changes take a lot of a advance preparation and sometimes extensive changes to the code.

Then I guess it's high time that you start such a discussion.
What other people choose to post about has no bearing on the matter. This is why each discussion is separated into a thread.

And what you're saying is that some accolades aren't based on getting other badges. So these examples you bring up now have absolutely nothing to do with your original question.

To continue with your atrocious example: you will never catch up with your older sibling and be the same age, will you?
    Entirely fair.

In fact, it does not disadvantage anyone and actually encourages new customers.

See what I did there? I can write whatever I want and state that it is fact, just like you did.

There are a few places in New York City where you have to walk BLOCKS to get from one line to another. Still, I guess it meets the OP's criterion of being 'in the same building' since you can get there without going outside (via honking long tunnels).

    In my case, two reasons:

    1) I don't want a 'chance'. I want the item I want.

    2) In some cases, I want it at a particular level. This is why all of my toons blow all merits on random rolls when they are in the mid 30's and I have a blaster at 37 with XP turned off. But if I have to have a LotG at level 25, then I buy it.

Working as intended? Can't answer that without knowing precisely what the devs DID intend and/or what they CURRENTLY intend (if it changed).

But I don't think either of those questions is particularly useful. I think the question should be whether the merit system has improved the game, or not. To that, my answer would be a qualified (very qualified) yes. Overall, I think we're better off with the merit system than without it, despite the negative impact it has had on the availability of sub-50 recipes on the market. I think a few changes could make my yes an unqualified one.

As expected, the lowest enhancement value, in this case Accuracy, got the biggest boost, whereas the higher ones got less. Now, theoretically, this should have given me about 63% more overall enhancement, which is one enhancement and a bit, but in actual practice thanks to ED, it only ended up giving me around 28% more.
Ah, but you're slotting in such a way that you're gimping yourself by running up against ED. What if your slotting goal was to maintain the EXACT same amount of accuracy, end red and damage but add 60% recharge. Wouldn't that be beneficial?

    The Boot Myth

I've never kicked or been kicked due to power picks. However, I did LEAVE a team due to power picks. Someone organized a team to do Maria Jenkins' arc and we were having a terrible time against the AV's. I couldn't understand why, until I checked the builds of the leader and his pal. They were both playing radiation defenders and had taken NONE of the debuffs.

Do a concept build if you want, but when it's making every mission a struggle, I'm gone.

Wrong. BOTH sets are there for the same reason - to defeat/help defeat enemies.

    BTW, my ill/kin has SB.

Okay, so the problem is that you run into a lot of sucky defenders and it has affected your perception of defenders in general. How sad.

You can also get more Karma or Blessing of Zephyr - they're not uniques. You just need another defense power to put them in.

    BORING!
In the old days, the tank could herd up most of the map. That has changed. Herding to a pre-arranged point is usually not the fastest way to get things done. Make no mistake, there are certainly situations where it is the best tactic, but MOST of the time, it's just boring for the rest of the team.

    Quote:
Add to that the fact that people just seem to play bat poop crazy and just die over and over again and it gets to be very frustrating to be a tank..
Keep in mind that debt is DRAMATICALLY less of a penalty than it used to be. In fact, on a character you don't play often, your Patrol XP can completely negate earning any debt even after a few deaths. Also, with Self Destruction, you don't get any debt for dying. Then there's Vengeance, self-rez powers - sometimes dying is a valid tactic.

ARGH.. sorry, s'pose I just needed to vent and figure out if this is a global problem or if people still pay attention to good playing etc...
It varies. On a pick-up group, it's a crap shoot.
If it's an SG team, or regularly scheduled team, or a picked team for a task force, that's a different story.

The second one. I don't know if there has ever been redname confirmation since we probably never asked. Anyone with enough experience (and who is paying attention) can see for themselves how it works.

I believe this to be correct. I've done the Eden trial a lot and I have only ever gotten an Ambrosia after landing a killing blow. Since we're talking about a binary result with a data collection in the high hundreds (if not over a thousand), I'm pretty confident about that conclusion.

Well, that's fine as a statement of policy. As a statement of 'fact', though, it is completely false.

I agree with the part about not telling people what to do. I'm just saying that someone playing their first 'whatever AT' doesn't know the character as well as someone who has played it many times before.
  25. No, because there's no theme; no connection.

    We have accolades for:
    - completing the six 'signature TFs' - the connection is the characters are a key part of game lore.
    - getting the badge from every safeguard.
    - getting badges related to the Freedom Phalanx.
    - getting badges related to Crey.
    etc.
