Whoo! The badge for this is entitled Saved the World!

Now I just need to level up a toon named 'Saved the Cheerleader -
Ah. The IOP or was there more? and how is it this can't be fixed?
-
I would like to know what the technical problem is that makes this thing so impossible. Bases were initially designed around this stupid thing.
-
<FARM ALERT!!!>
I can kill an extremely large number of green and blue minions with my Blaster. This will result in an inordinate amount or recipies being dropped for me. Please nerf. -
Back on topic. Can we slot, for example, My pets with ranged atacks sets. Or my protector bots with some of the defence buff sets? would they benefit? would anyone benefit?
-
Paragon wiki. They mysteriously got all kinds of sets and what they do up there. It states all teh snipe sets are snipe/AS sets

I have a crazy idea that I have no idea as to the logistics of implementing.
How 'bout for a month or three, after Issue 9 hits; you tweak the recipe drop tables to add some outleveled IO recipes? Just as a short-term opportunity to make said recipes available to those that see utility for them beyond just their level.
[/ QUOTE ]
How about keeping the story arc requirements then just roatating the tables every month. month 1 you get table A through trials. Month 2 Story arcs. Month 3 enemy drops. -

I suspect we'll get -some- kind of rough map to follow for this stuff, though it may not be Dev-provided or available during the first week.

I actually wanted to go with Drops II: Drops Harder

*sniff sniff*
Hmm. A faint odor of a positronic suit, there. Must be my imagination.
[/ QUOTE ]
No way, I would have gone with Drops II: Attack of the Drops.

If you'd said Drops II: Secret of the Drops I would've given you so many bonus points.

I mean really... I see alot of people griping that "MUO will have the stuff we can't have in CoH" - it'll be a far newer game... of /course/ it will have stuff we can't have here >.> the devs have learned alot from COH - including what players want.
[/ QUOTE ]
The devs may need to remember more than just what players want. They'll need to know what the players NEED as well.
When I heard the MUO and DCO projects were going to be coded for console platforms, I knew immediately these were going to be pork projects.
Tell me, how many console gamers use keyboards to chat with their PC counterparts in an MMO? Whoops ... not many, huh? Nothing like trying to grow a community of superhero mutes. This is only ONE challenge in many to come because some propeller-head, bean counter decided to merge console gamers with PC gamers in an MMO.
[/ QUOTE ]
The only game I know of that was designed for both console and PC was FFXI
I like FFXI but I don't play it. Why? It is any extreme time sink when compared to other MMO's OTher than that I like alot of things about it. They implemented a interesting way to not only communicate from the console but also to overcome the language barrier.
In fact, as I recall, Some of the console gamers were more talkative than the PC ones. Releaseing a game for consoles as well as PC isn't a bad thing. Now that these consoles actually have a hard drive updates will be easier to do.
From my perspective all you are doing is opening the game to a larger market than you would otherwise be able to reach. Not every gamer owns a PC. Many choose to remain with consoles just so they dont have to deal with the insane technical issues that often arise on a PC.
I really enjoy CoX. I will problably try MUO. If it is better AND I can recreate all of my characters over there then I may move. I think its too early to tell right now though. I like that the content on CoX is origional. As for MUO... well I like the Marvel universe too but in all honesty it was gettign into CoX that really started me looking into the DC and Marvel comics. I always had a passing interest before but now I'm a more active fan.
2 years is still a ways away. I will be interested to see where CoX is going to go between here and MUO.
It isn't like MMO's just die because a title with a similar theme comes out. As far as I know even UO and EQ are still around. -

Eventually people were going to move on from CoX anyway, it's just a matter of time. Think of the Marvel game to CoX like EQ2 is to EQ.
I just want Cryptic to develope a MMO based on Mech Warrior.
[/ QUOTE ]
It pretty much depends on how CoH will match up to MUO. I think it's a bit early to call it for now.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mechwarrior would be cool for an MMO. I've also always thought a Shadowrun MMO would be extremely cool -
There is alot of that. I will nearly always play all the different paths on games that offer a choice of paths. Lionhead is big on it but there is also KOTOR. It's just fun playing the games you like over and having a different story unfold.

I was entertaining this thought last night. Thse people are calling gamers killers and terrorists simply for playing video games. That's like half of america. What would happen if we each indicidually filed a lawsuit for slander or something

The Reply is priceless! I love it!
Oh, if they did not ask for permission to use a Trademark of NC Soft in their video, when are you going to sue them?

Eh too bad the author felt the need to drop the ....... in it -

As if that would work. It seems to me that, in general, the publics impression of Video games is tainted the same way the gaming communities view of a PVPer is tainted. It doesnt matter if their are exceptions or if it is even the majority. It is the few bad games/players who warrant its removal.
The gaming community is much smaller yet we can't come to some sort of reasonable understanding about that. How are we supposed to alter the perception America has on video games? Insanity is insanity anywhere. You can't reason with it.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm getting dangerously close to expressing my opinion on this issue, so I'm going to let a cliche do it for me.
"It's better to light a candle than to curse the darkness."
If you underestimate the value of a single person with the drive to do something great, well, I don't know what to tell you. Except that somehow America did manage to win its independence way back when it took on the superpowers of the day. I think that's inspiring enough to show that anything's possible in this country, y'know?
The one thing that gets me frustrated, though, is seeing outrage and frustration become impotent rather than productive. Issues like these, where it comes to culture, are more about willpower than they are about financing or numbers.
[/ QUOTE ]
No politician is going to tell me what to play. However they can tell game producers what to produce by levying hefty fines for violence and fees for being allowed to produce the content. It isn't a question of willpower because it isn't my will being tested.
There is a quote from a Dilber comic that I always kinda liked. Kinda goes along with the "demonstrateing absurdity by being absurd" bit.
Reality is dictated by those who are most insane.
So what should we do. March on washington all dressed as our favorite superhero? Flood the internet with point/counterpoint type videos? Start blowing stuff up? (Don't do this). I'd have to think on it a litle more to come up with something more concrete. Petition our congressmen heck. If its a question of willpower petition your videogame companies and publishers.
It's one thing to rate the games. I kinda like that as it tells me what to expect (usually anyway. How FFXII got a partial nudity rateing is beyond me) In general I don't like extreme violence yet I do enjoy games such as Silent hill or Dynasty Warriors.
Rockstar has been fighting them for quite a few years. They have experience. They problably have some inside scoop on how to fight the madness. Play their games or not it's the same fight. -

Heh. what we should do is put together a trailer villifying congress. Maybe pick a few scenes that dont make sense among all the scenes that might be in theme. Congress raises taxes, congress starts wars, congress has sex.
To bad we dont have tax dollars to distribute it.
[/ QUOTE ]
True, but just edit in a few scenes from 24, and you'd have viewers. Just chuck it on youtube.
[/ QUOTE ]
Demonstrate absurdity by being absurdI don't have the equipment or knowhow to edit anything together though.

i use toon, nothing wrong with it at all, after all, all my 'toons' are personal to me.

I first heard the useage of toon on CoX. I always knew what was meant by it but I always used Character or Alt before.
Sometimes people get confused when I use alt so I started typing toon myself just to simplify things. -

Any Ice/Ice guides??
Thank you.
[/ QUOTE ]
Really :/
At a glance Ice/Ice really goes well together. Eveythign you do slows the enemy down. That lowers their DPS and fits teh mold of control. It amazes me there is no Ice'Ice guide to that effect.
I just play one I don't crunch the numbers Any guide I would write would be laughed at regardless of how effective I am since I skip Hasten and Jack frost. -

To be hinest, I love fighting Malta. IMO, they are one of the most challenging enemy groups in the game while not being overused, like a certain magic-using villain group I am thinking of.
As for people who hate sappers, here's what you do: find a bubbler. Deflection field protects from endurance drain, simple as that. And yes, the empathy kind of defender is not the only kind
[/ QUOTE ]
Or find a Stone tankmmmm Rooted = end drain resistance.
I think dark armor gets end drain protection as well.
