With the faster recharge in Foot Stomp, I'd say ss/shield, but elec/shield is a lot of fun

[/ QUOTE ]

SS is that good. But after about 4 SS toons, including SS/WP Brute and WP/SS tank, I had to go with the unique Brute combo of Elec/SD.

For pure mob-crushing fun, SS/SD might be a nice compromise vs. SS/Fire.
2. WM is fun (I have a 50 WM/SR) but heavy on endo unless you slot right. It has stronger ST than Axe (due to Clobber change) and better AOE (I think, due to Crowd Control's higher dmg).

That said, there are stronger brute sets (Fire, SS, etc.) so that's one reason people don't talk about them as much.
3. I think you get more mileage out of a PPP AOE (Ball Lightning etc.) than Darkest Night if you are going for mass AOE dmg.

I always leave some bids out for the crafted IO at a few million above recipe price and flip any that fill.

5. Here ya go. Much fun. Combustion shines with a Proc and is a good herding tool, aggro-getting tool.

6. Just hit the 1B mark on another one of my Brutes, redside. Never thought buying and selling crafted Purples could be so rewarding. Volatility for the win!
7. [ QUOTE ]
It will fire more than 1 time in a 10 second time frame. The chance of going off vs 1 mob is 1/10 so not going to happen often but when you add more mobs the odds get better. Once you get 10+ mobs around you, the proc hits something like 2/3 of the time. Someone who figures statistics can figure it out.

Just tested it on live and fired 3 times in 15 seconds.

[/ QUOTE ]

Were you watching your recharge bonus stat in Combat Attributes? Or just looking for the Icon for this proc? 'Cause I'm pretty sure it used to show the Icon even when surpressing itself. You had to watch your recharge time bonus stat.
8. Seen a few posts lately where people are back to talking about slotting this in AOEs like Foot Stomp, and noticing results.

Last I heard this proc (Force Feedback +rchrg) was bugged and basically preventing itself from activating -- supressing itself over and over -- if fired off repeatedly within its non-activation window.

Did they fix it?
9. It was seriously hard solo, and even harder on an 8-man team yesterday. We had about 2 full team wipes in the last room. That's not a farm. You should put it back and point to this thread as evidence.
10. Ran this on my DM/Shield, my Fire/SR, and my Kat/WP.

The Kat/WP did it without dying, just stacking parry and making sure enough mobs were around to heal from. Also SoW helped take alphas. Slow though due to lethal dmg.

DM/Shield loved it, but a few hits go through and a 250hp heal in SL doesn't cut it when a few hit at once.

Fire/SR also got hit but had to run a bit and use Aid Self. The nice thing about Fire/SR right now is all mobs run away from you after a few hits (DOT of fire + SR's not getting hit = bad mob AI) ... so i kept switching targets. I also couldn't pull more than 5-7 or so tanks at once without asking for trouble.

Fun times.
11. [ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Most EB's I fight stay to the bloody end. There are times when I wish they would run so I could rest.

[/ QUOTE ]

You misunderstand again! They dont fight with you for a while and then run. They start running from the moment you get near them. At best you can get a couple of shots before they are off.

[/ QUOTE ]

Naw, on my Fire/SR they don't run from the start. I fight them for 1-2 attack chains and then they run .... come back and fight for 1 chain ... then run again ... repeat.

I think it's some weird combo of /SR's not-getting-hit and Fire's DOT but they are running constantly.
12. This is still going on all the time, even when mobs are set not to run. AVs, EBs, etc. My fire/SR scrapper is causing it all the time. It's got to be a combination of /SR not getting hit and the DOT from fire. PLEASE FIX THIS CASTLE!
13. Soft-Cap /SR plus Fire Melee dot = constantly running AVs, even when set not to run. Make it stop!!!
14. I find Tier 9s make the difference for my WPs and my Shields in running ITFs and herding / being surrounded by a roomful of Romans and EBs. Even soft-capped on Shields with Siphon Life, too many big hits (crits) get through too fast -- esp when I pull all the EBs. For my /WP, SoW adds the extra res I need to let my healing pull me through.
15. Here's a quick first pass at a Tanker build. My picks are making me choose between Taunt and Tough .... I like that with Tough it gets 37.5% resists to smash/lethal, for those hits that do get through the softcap. But not having taunt on a Tanker can be a bit rough even with Gauntlet. Any thoughts?

16. I can't seem to self-cap my DM/Shield's dmg at 400% (combat attributes) though, no matter how hard I try to herd on ITFs

For the record I went DM/Shield on my Scrap way before people figured out it was uber ... I was just like, hm, def set with no heal, let's go dark for SL .... lucky me this time.
17. [ QUOTE ]
Nihilii's build is sitting at 36.5 s/l and 33 f/c/n/e with one foe in range.

That puts it at the soft cap for s/l and ~43 f/c/n/e with 10 foes.

[ QUOTE ]
My DM/INV -- tricked out with sets for +HP and+recharge

[/ QUOTE ]

That unfortunately is where you went wrong... the +HP does nothing for you really.

The recharge is needed however to get a nice attack chain and perma DP.

Basically, you want at least 41% defense to all s/l/f/c/n/e, with 43+ being preferable.

You also want upwards of 60% global recharge on top of hasten so you can chain smite/MG/smite/SL.

Nihilii has well over 300% regen in that build as well, but thats not quite as important for DM because of siphon life.

You will still want ~80-85% heal enhance in SL and 280-300 passive regen.

Add on top of that soul drain with less than 10 seconds downtime and some decent endurance control and you can lay some serious smack down with DM/invuln.

Just dont expect it to be cheap (although it will be cheaper than werners builds by a good margin).

[/ QUOTE ]

Thx. I may go back at some point and rebuild the DM/INV to see if I can do better. It just felt super squishy at the time. Will dig up and PM you my MIDS build for it (that I had, before stripping it) for any further insights. My Kat/WP feels much stronger these days -- cept for darn lethal dmg.
18. I'm on my Mac so I can't load mids and look at your build.

What are your def / resistance numbers coming out to be
-- with 1 foe in range
-- with 5-10 in range

I'm really curious, since I'm guessing you have high def to E/N at least.

My DM/INV -- tricked out with sets for +HP and+recharge -- got creamed every time I tried the RWZ challenge (whereas I've beat it on a number of other toons). Of course, I didn't have Aid Self.

I just couldn't get /INV to work for me - even on the Cim wall the Romans cut through the Def bonuses from lots of mobs. Really curious how your numbers are looking.

Thx.
19. Grats! Impressive.

1) Looked like spawn sizes were really small .... does it only spawn for 2 and not for the 6 that started it?

2) How did you handle the console in the 3rd mish? You only showed part of it. Did you kill the robots as they spawned, or just shoot the console from far enough range that they didn't aggro on you?

3) In the final battle with Rommy & the nictus(es), did you (the Corr) pull and keep the Healing Nictus out of range with Rommy? That's sort of what it looked like but I couldn't tell. I'm surprised that one Rad and one Brute could do enough dmg to beat down rommy through the heals ... maybe that's the effect of the nukes. Ambush looked really small too.
20. Hurl's animation time was reduced. It's not so bad anymore.
21. I have a new WM/SR brute at 50 now. WM post-I13 is really, really good. Clobber kicks [censored], and the AOE from Shatter, CC, and Whirling are really really good. Biggest problem seems to be endo useage. At least on my /SR, i had to slot the AOEs with Obilterations so that may be the cause of the problem. However I could see that WP is a very very good secondary pairing for WM redside or even on a tank these days, due to 2 endo recovery powers. WM almost deserves a place on par with the Big 3 these days.

Plus the Rularuu hammer is just too cool.

I only have 2 Gb. Buying memory from Mac is sooo expensive. It's so much cheaper to buy elsewhere. I just need to get some more.

I upgraded my Macbook Pro from 2GB to 4GB for $49 at Fry's. That was buying a complete new 4GB set. I gave the old 2GB to a friend.
23. lvl 50 nucleus is only about 5M blueside, relatively cheap compared even to non-purple sets like Mako's
24. I like to Frankenslot it so that it gets close to capped damage, some good endo reduction, some recharge, AND close to capped Heal.

First let's set a baseline for comparison:

3 lvl 50 Heal IOs would give it 99% heal enhancement for 19.9% Heal (twice the 10% base)

3 lvl 50 Dmg IOs would give it 96.5% dmg enhancement for 320.2 dmg

Now let's look at my proposed Frankenslotting:

2 Hami Acc/Dmg
1 Mako Dmg/End lvl 50
Miracle Heal, Miracle Heal/End, Miracle H/E/R

This gives the following enhancement
66% accuracy
90.17% dmg (nearly capped, 311.6 -- vs the 320 above)
69.93% endurance
80.82% heal (18.1% heal vs. the 19.9% above)
19.3% recharge

Plus the 3 Miracles give 2.5% recovery and 1.87% HP bonus (on a scrap). Generally I'm stacking recovery & HP on my Scraps & Brutes so I like this.

If that's not enough recharge for ya, swap out the H/E for a H/R. Generally I have enough global recharge that SL is up every 4 seconds with this slotting.

Or to cap damage, slot a generic Dmg IO in place of Mako -- that's 96% dmg enhance but you drop to 43% endo (which is low for a fast chain).
25. Rommy fled today from my Fire/SR scrapper in the final ITF mish. The tank was busy taunting away the healing nictus and we had no immobs. I was "tanking" Rommy and he actually ran around a bit before jumping up on the roof of the temple and onto the hills. LMAO.

I think it was some combination of the DOT from Fire Melee, plus him missing me a lot (due to /SR). Really sucked though. He's a freakin' AV and I'm a lvl 50 Fire Scrapper. Rawr.
