MiA fun with freaks

Okay, I saw a post about it in the MiA forum down there *points*, and it was complaining about the crazyness of it all.

Arc name: Who Cares 2

I can't give an ID because, apparently, people keep reporting it as a "farm" - I had a chat with the arc owner However, as far as farms go, I'd love to see what people use to farm that mission

So that you have an idea of what to expect:

That's what the final room looks like when SOLO - granted, on difficulty 4, but still... I should put together a team of scrappers to dive in sometime.

It took me half an hour of solid scrapperlocking to clear that thing, and I got hammered pretty badly regularly when the smashers would stack enough stons to temporarily supress my toggles (the indignity, I had to use six inspirations!). It was glorious! And something I'm sure some fellow scrappers will want to try too

I did this mission on my fortunata. It was insanely fun!

OK, this IS awesome fun. Tried it out with Sergei on invincible. I saw the room of tanks, and thought I couldn't be happier. Then I dove in, and the biggest ambush ever ran in to liven things up. I was wrong. I COULD be happier. I tore things up for about 15 minutes, grinning from ear to ear in pure scrapper BLISS, then poof, dead. I was slightly injured already, then two of the tanks hit me for 782 points each at the same time.

Ran back in, probably made it another five minutes. This time, they just wore me down. They burned me out of greens and oranges, and my health headed down. When it got into the scaling resistance territory, they had a hard time finishing me off, but they eventually did.

Heh, faster each time. Only lasted a couple minutes on the third try.

Couple more minutes. Do these tanks ever end?

Fifteen seconds. Seriously?

And then another fifteen minute stretch, and the room was finally clear. Boy, I was sick of tanks by the time it was done. And I think that makes it perfect.

I checked this one out too. I realized a little way in I was only on rugged but kept going anyway. I made it about 5 minutes before a couple of them got lucky shots in within a second or so of each other and I died. There's a video of it in the link in my sig.

I have a question about this - and this is completely serious.

I ran into several missions last night that I would classify as "farming" maps. And there was no doubt about the fact that they were made for farming. Playing through those, I learned about some very interesting techniques to get the spawn counts up to the highest possible.

My first reaction to this was: "Well this is a BS farming map. This won't stay on the server long." Because I know the Devs want to avoid having players exploit the MA system for farming & power-leveling.

But then I thought, "Well....what if you just really want to fight alot of guys at once when you solo?"

This is especially going to be a problem for Scrappers & Brutes - the two AT's that probably get the biggest amount of jollies from soloing.

It makes me wonder where the devs are going to draw the line, and how they plan to continue to regulate the system against exploits without completely ruining the functionality of the system.

If I had to guess...I'm going to say that very soon, they're going to implement a nerf that completely neuters the system - and then dial up the performance from there. What do you think?

Good fun. Until I forgot to stop attacking to let PB click and got stunned.

The second time that happened, I didn't have a break free.

Another question why are people so concerned about people farming it is wasted energy they are not going way just let them be

I didn't pay much attention to MArc on test. My assumption was that you wouldn't get ANY rewards for playing MArc missions until they became Dev picks, or something like that. That way, they wouldn't have to play cop, telling you what kind of missions you could and couldn't enjoy. I was wrong. That's good in some sense, as they'll get a lot more people playing it with full rewards. But it's bad in that they have to regulate content.

Yeah, I'm not sure where they're going to draw the line on farming. I LIKE diving into spawns with a lot of bosses. I DON'T do it for the rewards, as I know how to make all the influence I'll ever need by playing the market when I'm not too lazy to do so. I would LOVE to play missions where all of the spawns are all bosses instead of stupid minions and lieutenants to grind through. I usually stop missioning by the mid levels because invincible has become too boring.

But a mission full of bosses strung out like that? That's some serious XP. Maybe more than they intend me to be able to get.

As far as farming goes, the Devs have provided me with farming maps. I don't NEED to make my own when I feel like farming, which I occasionally do. I occasionally just want to sit down and tear apart enemies that don't threaten me for hours on end. I don't need MArc to do that.

I just did this on my tanker, this was the first time since fighting ghost widow that I actually felt a challenge on my wp tanker. It was doable so long as I kept my resists about 70% to lethal. I just bought a bunch of oranges and went to town on these guys. For the whole mission I get well over 1000 tickets just for the kills. The mission complete bonuses was even more than that. It would be nice to see what it would be like if I had the mission architech day job active when I finished it. I am so going to do this again when I get home from work.

OK, I tried this a second time, with strategy this time. In other words, pulling the tanks one or two or three at a time into the crowd of minions to power Soul Drain. Working that way, I was able to do it no temps, no inspirations, no deaths, and I think faster than the spawn diving method. Spawn diving was more fun, though.

I'm glad everyone likes it, this was intended to be fun, not for farming, but I can see how it can be seen that way, if you wish to try this mission out, please do so. However, if you wish to be negative, don't waste your time.

Much fun. First day of I14, didnt realize difficulty applied to it. Was on Heroic for some reason on my BS/WP. Cut through it like butter. Upping diff to see if he can play with the big boys.

I tried this on my Earth/Psi permDom. faceplanted the first time and was in awe of its awesomeness. Reset mish and switched up my strategy and survived, barely. My AOE Disorient just doesn't cycle fast enough even with 170% recharge.

This is what I was hoping to get out of the MA. Missions I can load up and take out my aggression on and justify all the dough I spend on my Doms.

*edit* I meant to add I had it on 4th level difficulty.

Fun or Farms it matters not to me I do both at the same time.

The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

Unyielding.

Two deaths so far, and only the first group destroyed. I need purps to survive the initial onslaught to get parry stacked. Even with that, my build is not really good enough. Been a long time since I played it, and forgot it is not endurance light enough to perma attack.

Really fun. I imagine I can pull them, which I may try now, but that doesnt seem near as fun.
