  1. First thing that came to mind was anything Storm or /Storm...having been said already, I'll say a Tri-Form Warshade.

Level 22 I do "mostly" SO's. I do some pairs of IO's, as I will explain below.

    Level 27 I replace the SO's.

Level 32 or so I do a full IO "frankenslot".

To explain- and I know this gets a little mathy for a non-detail person- one Acc/Dam IO gives you almost 2/3 of an Acc IO and almost 2/3 of a Dam IO. That's ignoring the "set bonus" part altogether.

If you are ignoring the set bonuses, you can slot really cheap sets that nobody otherwise wants.

So if you slotted one Accuracy IO and one Damage IO at level 25, you'd get 32% Acc and 32% Damage. If you slotted two Acc/Dam IO's, you would get 40% Acc and 40% Dam instead.

So at level 22 (or 23 because people like even multiples of 5 a lot, so I can get 26es) I tend to do pairs of cheap Acc/Dam IO's and fill in the rest with SO's.

At level 32 I "Frankenslot" heavily. You can get, in five slots, the equivalent of up to seven IO's. And 35 IO's are measurably better than 25 IO's or any SO's.

Then around level 43 or so I start going for expensive sets, which give good set bonuses. Not because the frankenslotted stuff works badly, but because I have a whole lot of extra money, I'm bored with what I have, and I like to play with the set system.

This is exactly what I do. Each new character is self-sufficient this way....just by selling almost all drops. I've been in the habit of using a vetspec to sell SO's off when I upgrade, but I might not even bother with that anymore....Influence flows like wine now.

Edit: DO's are incredibly cheap, and while they deteriorate, replacing them is trivial...nowadays a couple of common salvage will pay for them.
  3. Hmm...How about rather than increasing the Agro cap, increase the Taunt(power) cap? I would be much more comfortable with this idea than an increased Agro cap.
  4. My first thought was agreement with the OP....I'd love to have the agro cap higher. After a bit of speculation though, this might be more of a detriment(to me) than a benefit. Specifically it would take away the thrill of successfully dealing with that second spawn that gets agroed. Sure, it can be frustrating when the team wipes, but that doesn't trump my fun factor of living on the edge, with whatever AT I'm playing.

IMHO, this would be akin to giving Controllers their ability to lock down everything in sight again, making for boring, risk free fights. In many(most?) situations this game is trivially easy even with the agro cap as it is now.

Guessing this is for solo play...EM/WP is quite good against EB's and can solo quite well. In fact, just about anything/WP is probably more than adequate against EB's. My experience extends to EM/WP(before and after the nerfs) and Stone/WP Brute...both of which were easy to solo...1-50.

Edit: If by some small chance this is for team play, you are asking the wrong questions.

  7. Thanks Sorciere and Starsman for posting some mathematics behind attacks. I was always a bit skeptical about slotting attacks with End Reduction in the early game.....especially when I tried it and found many of the same endurance issues as before.

The biggest improvement by far was when I was able to combine inspirations. I simply started creating blues whenever I had an opportunity with newer characters, and that made a tremendous difference. I still occasionally have Endurance problems, but usually only when Inspiration drops dry up...happens for an entire mission sometimes.

Tonality: I'm considering a personal shopper service. I throw up five or ten bids across a variety of levels for around the going price, and charge somewhat more. My customers give me something [say, 50% more than I paid for it] and they don't need to have ten free market slots, and they don't need to have the inf for ten bids.

The last time I needed something specific I got it by paying so much that it was worth it for people to use merits to buy it. It seemed inefficient.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The only problem I see for such a service is that you're asking the wrong crowd. Most that come to this forum have the patience to put up the bids themselves and simply wait for a hit.

That's not to say such a service won't be used....there are plenty of forum goers who are also the impatient 'don't wanna bother putting up a bid for several days' crowd.

All in all, an interesting idea....in theory. Most of the people reading these forums are also alto-holics....in which case, with a decent SG(or multiple accounts), you could have several of your characters doing exactly what you are selling....which is what I do....then transfer the wanted IO.

Edit: The ones savvy enough to actually have all of their slots full are probably not going to be customers.

I've been hiking Glacier National Park, fishing, rafting, and otherwise been slacking on vacation. I'm so lucky! My uncle lives a few miles south of Glacier, and it's a fantastic place to take some time.....unfortunately, he only has dial-up. Barring Mount Baker exploding, I should be around next week.

Not sure if this qualifies as a great scrapper moment....but can't deny that this is a great movie moment in a great movie!

    [ QUOTE ]

I do agree with one thing you did say, though. You're not special. So if you don't mind, stop acting like your AV Soloing is somehow special and you're guarding some kind of close, dire secret.

    [/ QUOTE ]

She seems pretty special to me.

  12. I really like the Freaklympic story arc. Good story, good enemies, great end map....oh, and 20 merits. That last map is a Scrapper paradise.

The Crow, the scene above the bar with the band playing below. “You're all going to die.” (4:10 if you want to skip right to the violence)

    [/ QUOTE ]

Great scene for sure. Brandon Lee was definately more scrapper like in Rapid Fire, though(just meaning less ranged attacks).

My favorites include: Much of Kung Fu Hustle, both for entertainment value, and some nifty Martial Arts. And most Jackie Chan movies for the same reason, especially Drunken Master, and Rumble in the Bronx(pretty terrible movie, superior fighting).

    Regarding Twixt

Hi iltat. Sadly, I'm not at all surprised by the details in your post. I understand completely your point of view. I'm not condoning her actions in any way. I just happen to understand her point of view as well.

    [ QUOTE ]
Understanding is a desirable thing. Those who have it should treasure it. Those who do not likely do not realize they are missing it.

Can't believe I missed this before I posted. Eloquently spoken.

    Regarding Twixt

Try to look at this another way. There are some people who are hardwired differently than you. Looking at what Dolly wrote, she HAD to keep doing her routine. I don't expect you to understand why. But at least understand that not everyone is like you.

And doing her routine, she was basically tortured. For months! Of course she's gonna have an emotional response!! Of course she shed real tears. Let's look at the results here, not the how's and why's.

    First AV soloed.

Thanks for the input guys. I LOVED the challenge. My health, even soft capped, often hovered near zero. My End was an issue towards the end(especially when she popped her tier nine...not sure what it was, but my damage plummeted). I'll post an update on my success/failure when I can.

    First AV soloed.

Hi Scrappers. Sadly, I have no pictures to validate my modest claim, but yesterday I soloed my first AV on my Katana/SR scrapper. It took two tries. I was level 49 and the AV(Bobcat) was level 48....I dinged inside the mission.

I really tried as a whim. EB's were becoming pretty easy(some almost trivially so). My questions: Is Bobcat one of the easier AVs to solo? I'm gonna go ahead and try to solo every AV from now on, but I wanna know what kind of pain level to look forward to.

I emptied my tray against Bobcat. Mostly heals, resistance, and damage Inspirations.

    Any advice is greatly appreciated!

PS. I am soft capped, and run Tough...no Weave. I also have Aid Self, but I picked it up at level 49, so the base slot.
  19. Well well! Happy birthday to you to Ultrabatz.

Your scrappers look amazing. What costume packs do you have?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Seconded. And happy birthday!
  21. Repeat Offenders has an all Scrapper SG. I've been slacking making yet another alt, but my resistance is being debuffed daily.....

I recently ran a Sara Moore TF on my scrapper (wanted the Rularuu shield).. team ended up as 6 scrappers, tank, blaster. We kicked butt.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ha! That must have been loads of fun!
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Why restrict yourself? Make both! I would.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Edit: More specifically, I'd make a Stone/SS. Looks and feels wonderful!

    Regarding Twixt

I can certainly understand your emotions. Twixt didn't just go beyond the normal human boundaries in killing you. He shattered them, apparently with a relish and zeal that is rather frightening.

I invited 6 people to a Manticore TF this afternoon-invited everyone I could find, took everyone who wanted to come- and it was mostly level 50 defenders and controllers.

I present to you: A Data Point.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Similar to a Numina I ran last night. Mostly controllers and blasters. No Scrappers.
