First AV soloed.

Hi Scrappers. Sadly, I have no pictures to validate my modest claim, but yesterday I soloed my first AV on my Katana/SR scrapper. It took two tries. I was level 49 and the AV(Bobcat) was level 48....I dinged inside the mission.

I really tried as a whim. EB's were becoming pretty easy(some almost trivially so). My questions: Is Bobcat one of the easier AVs to solo? I'm gonna go ahead and try to solo every AV from now on, but I wanna know what kind of pain level to look forward to.

I emptied my tray against Bobcat. Mostly heals, resistance, and damage Inspirations.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

PS. I am soft capped, and run Tough...no Weave. I also have Aid Self, but I picked it up at level 49, so the base slot.

Hi Ignatz!

I wouldn't sat Bobcat is terribly easy. I'd put her somewhere in the middle for difficulty. You should be able to pull off quite a few AVs with her under your belt.

Congratulations btw!

Grats.

I also think Bobcat is in the middle of the pack. You can expect to have an easier time against some AVs and to get annihilated against some others.

That being said, being +1 to her is a big advantage. Fighting even level AVs will be harder.

I can't speak for Super Reflexes, but for my Katana/Regen (who has a highly expensive build), Bobcat was the easiest AV out of all of the ones I have faced so far. I killed her on my first try, without any temporary powers or inspirations. I don't mean to bust your bubble or anything, but Bobcat has no resistance to lethal damage, so you are doing full damage to her whilst being softcapped against everything she has to throw at you.

Congratulations nonetheless, as it is still an accomplishment.

(edit: The opinion of a well known SR player was given as I was writing this, so, heed his words over mine )

Thanks for the input guys. I LOVED the challenge. My health, even soft capped, often hovered near zero. My End was an issue towards the end(especially when she popped her tier nine...not sure what it was, but my damage plummeted). I'll post an update on my success/failure when I can.

Congratulations!
even if Bobcat is one of the easier AVs, she is still very tough, and has that annoying MoG to worry about.
Remember Katana has Divine Avalanche, include that in the chain to stay at the melee soft cap.
Other than that, Aid Self is very useful for the defense based sets. (VERY useful)
And the biggest single tip I can give is Slot an Achilles Heel proc in at least one attack, it's way better than any damage proc when you're talking about AV fights.

As for Pain Level? Well it'll vary, Most of the Praetorians can be put down easily enough in under 10minutes (I say most because this depends entirely on your build, some will be nigh impossible and I've seen Vids posted of almost hour long fights against some of the even tougher AVs) the key here is patience, and an almost compulsive addiction to hitting the same attack string for the whole fight.
Truthfully, I'm to impatient to comtemplate an hour of mashing 1-2-3 repeat, (but I'm in awe of those that do) but I have done the Praetorian AVs on both my Dark/Inv and BS/SD, (and about to try again with a Fire/SR) and it's having done them with Defense based set that I'm strongly suggesting you take Aid Self (trust me the AVs will get lucky and when they do get 3 consecutive shots in, and well, that will be enough to drop you, which is annoying if you'd gotten them down to 20% health when they get lucky)
Anyway, hope my ramblings help a little,

Edit - Dang, phone rang while I was posting, thought I was going to be first reply, doh

Bobcat has Unstoppable, not MoG btw.

She was my first AV soloed as well. Just the other day in fact. I faced her at 44 with my fire/shield.

You'll probably want to take a look at this page so that you can be better prepared against future AVs. Some of them have crazy resists.

So far, the Praetorians that I've soloed as AVs are Bobcat, Shadowhunter, Siege, and Nighstar. (Also soloed Hro'dtohz, but that was with the pet help from the mission and he's not a Praetorian anyway.) Siege and Nightstar weren't tough for me and I only had to pop a single green and a single blue throughout each fight, but they might prove to be more difficult for you, since they have 50% lethal resists. I tried soloing Dominatrix last night and couldn't get her down under 25k thanks to her 50% resists to damn near everything (except for my ToD procs, whoopee). I was able to stand toe-to-toe with her for an indefinite amount of time, but just couldn't overcome her regen. I cheated and logged in my Emp/sonic on my alt account and Fort'd and AB'd myself and left one of his attacks on autofire for the resist debuff. After that, she went down at about my "normal" rate.

Anyway, good luck to you in your future AV soloing endeavors.
