Quote:Did you really need to up your post count that much?I know your shift key works, because you capitalized "I" in your post. Why not try using it elsewhere too?
I see CoH every day at work...I work in a prison and when I see the inmates in their orange scrubs I immediately think of the Zig. -

What I don't get is the whole "No I loves my server with all my friends - it's just hard to find teams." Uhmm where are all your friends? Seems a tad contradictory.
Personally I am "meh" for cross-server teaming... not against or for it. Then again I left my first home server due to it being such a lower population and I wanted to experience more team content. -
Quote:This....There are Hamidon raids on Freedom server on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and they tend to run a mothership raid after each one.
I think there is a hamidon raid channel for Freedom that they alert people to it in, but it tends to be around 9pm EST.
Depending on the week I participate in 1-3 MSR on Freedom -
I truly loathe ustream - wish there was a better service out there that paragon used.
STILL trying to load video........... ................. ................ .............. -
*I would get rid of pvp altogether and turn all the pvp zones into co-op zones.
*I would limit premiums on the boards more than it is now....player questions..there ya go.
*I would create specific items to sell on the market to fund a new base system....and then make it a market item that the Super Leader could buy....once..meaning if you are SL in more than one base...you would have to purchase it multiple times ...once for each base
*I would open up the Rewards program so that it was tier-less and you could spend your token on any of the items...I look at it this way - I am not a costume person so why should I use my "reward" for somethign I know I will never use.
*I would get rid of post counts on the forums
*CoH has too much bloat - I would get rid of approx half of the zones....make their content accessible via oro though.
Think that's about it for now -
Quote:And I would quit.Remove the "VIP" status.
No subs. Everyone's a freemium, and everything goes on the Market.
Because the monthly sub cost produces a lot of the content in this game - take that away and the game becomes stale..looking at 1 MAYBE 2 issues a year. -
Quote:I respectfully disagree. I could however see the amount of RMT purchases going up so that people who blow all their inf on super packs will have inf to buy their shinies. We have all seen the wild inflation at WW & BM, (Held in check only by the Infl cap) and that is largely due to an excess amount of Infl circulating in the game. Selling Super Packs for Infl will not solve that problem for all of our billionaires, but game wide, selling Super Packs for Infl could/would reduce the total volume of game cash in circulation. This would in turn bring market prices down to more manageable numbers. The "Gambleholics" would dump much of their infl on the packs, I really do think this would be a valid and effective infl sink game wide.
I do understand that Super Packs are big time fast cash for Paragon Studios, they are the #1 selling item in the market, that is because they are the most desirable item sold. Even with burning Infl for Super Packs, I still think they would remain the best seller. . .
Maybe it's because I don't BUY enhancements and do not need my items NOW... but to me it seems the prices have decreased in the market overall since converters.
Contrary to what many people think - the buyer does not set the price on the market - the seller does...because even if Joe Schmoe blew 500 million on super packs... John Smith will gladly spend his 500 million on the market. Alot of people want their preciouses NOW...so they can't put a bid in for something...and wait...instead when they don't get what they bid for..they cancel and up their bid... until it's theirsTHIS is what inflates the market...the buyer giving into the Sellers price... Doesn't matter how many inf sinks you put in the game..people will/do find ways to make as much inf as it takes to get what they want from the auction house.
I could stand behind this..if and only if... the super packs available at the auction house were Super Packs 1 and not 2. Releasing Super Packs simultaneously in the Paragon Market and in the auction house is a horrible move business wise for Paragon. -
Quote:yeah I wouldn't go that far....As a paying customer I would say just the opposite. I say VIP members should be able to get to play Power sets 30 days before F2P players do. Just to just to piss you off.
As a matter of fact paying customers should always be allowed inside missions first regardless of when they clicked the door. F2P gets a splash screen you need to wait cheapskate.
Paying customers should have a perma hasten that allows their powers to go off 1 second faster then a F2P member. My sprint should be just a bit faster and if your ahead of me in a race to the door a piece of the sidewalk should mysteriously pop up and make you fall just so I can pass you up. If your flying a pigeon should crash into you and make you fall to the ground.
When your making a costume the colors should just be a shade off so when you finished and log in with the new toon it just doesn't look right.
As a VIP customer I should be able to see a name I like and if its F2P person they should strip the name from you and give it to me. Heck I should be able to pick your replacement name. So I can call you buckethead or moose lips. -
Combat you make me lol...literally.

Quote:The precedent was already there - Prior to Issue 22 you had to do trials (or manage shards like a crazy person) to unlock Judgment, Lore, Destiny, and Interface. Then after awhile a solo/small team path was introduced. The devs have already stated that a solo/small team path will be introduced for Hybrid...just not in i23. So...they are following their own precedent. Just saying...That was kinda the point Golden Girl, I do not have any interest in something being locked behind a new trial. I definitly don't have any interest in doing said trial some five times to unlock the new trial. My primary concern there is to show that while I am excited about the hybrid slot, I AM NOT excited about having to get togther with 24 other people who likely won't bother reading how to do the trial, or having run it in beta yet like I have, and won't listen to instructions of those who have. That is frustrating to me especially on a small population server.
Now what should be done, in my opinion, and this is an opinion poll after all, is that the hybrid slot xp should be open to all who have already unlocked the other four slots via soloing in Dark Astoria. IE: if you already have Alpha, Judgement, Lore, Destiny, and Interface all unlocked then the new Advance IXP should start trickling in due to missions and street sweeping in DA, or in any other incarnate trial.
Locking new content behind new trials sets horrible precedent.
"Do our new stuff or else" is basically the tone they are setting. Last I checked they were giving us a sandbox to play in, not a railroad to run down, to use the PnP terms.
And like every other trial out there - the first few days will be rough and then once people get the hang of it - smooth sailing. I spend as little time on beta as possible for two reasons:
1. I like the surprise when it hits live
2. I feel like i am wasting my time earning stuff that I can't keep.
So my advice if your reason for not doing Hybrid is because of people who won't listen thus increasing the % to fail...wait a week or so to run MagisteriumMy next comment is not meant to inflame...it is just my observation and personal experience:
I left smaller servers once Freedom went live because I found the population less capable of succeeding at trials..and I love doing trials. I completely understand when people on the smaller servers get upset due to 1. lack of trials being ran and 2. horrible success rates; which is why I refuse to relocate back to those servers because being an incarnate is the main reason I continue to play.So while I feel your frustration....there are options if trials are something you enjoy...there are servers that continually...and successfully run trials. If that's not an option for you...then I pray for patience for yaGL and have fun!

search is your friend.....
This has been brought up numerous times in the past...with a resounding NO from players and devs alike. -

Quote:Phew... I thought I was going crazy.IIRC they did run TV adverts when the game first came out but they were few and far between.
Yes, CoH is barely advertised anywhere that isn't Massively even on the interwebs, let alone in print magazines or on TV (I understand TV though, it is hella expensive). -
It's helping a lot of my toons get the fake nem badges
-
I swear I saw a commercial in March of 2005.. on tv. Why you ask?? Well lemme give ya some history.
I had NEVER played a MMO before COH - not even WoW. I swear I was watching tv - saw a commercial for CoH and then immediately went to WalMart and bought the dvd version.
I am not a gamer so didn't see advertised on any of the game sites etc. But for the life of me I cannot remember with 100% certainty it was a commercial....maybe it was a video on youtube or something.. I dunno. -
#2 Penelope has this stupid/weird/goofy grin. When i23 goes live I will find a way to mod my login screen so I don't have to see that. It reminds me of a tattoo gone bad

Not sure how these proposed inf sinks are supposed to help the economy. Everyone I know has upwards of 50-100 billion. I am firmly between those two figures and would never fall for an "inf sink" unless it was something that made me go OOOOOOH.
Super Packs?? Meh. I use my paragon points for those. Unfortunately the only inf sink that I think would work would have people yelling "pay to win" because it would have to be something new that only inf could buy. Everything else in game I have no problem using paragon points or doing without.
I have spent billions on prestige because - wait for it - there is no other way to QUICKLY get millions of prestige to help my SG or friend's SGs. -
What are all these threads about inf sinks about?? Do people truly think putting lil items in game that cost inf will reduce the cost of market items? I guess I am confused as to all these "inf sink" threads hehe.
-
I always thought ice slick should have -def/-resist in it... I mean hello they are flopping around all crazy like trying to just stand up...one would think their defense would be lowered and resistance hehe.
-
I have come to the conclusion that no matter what evidence is given some people will still argue over and over and warp the hard data to try and state their point.
I didn't need any numbers to prove what I already knew-staff is a very viable set and deals plenty of damage. -
I did the super packs to get the costumes...
I sold the ATOs (made a nice chunk of change I might add)
Used the excessive merits to buy high selling recipes..made an impressive chunk of inf.
The xp boosters came in handy for the level 30-40 range on a few toons
The dual insps are great; especially at lower levels when insp carrying is low.
The catalyst woot
The only thing I actually haven't used were the few enhancement unslotters I got...
So I think it's funny when people say the packs are full of useless stuff... to each their own. I will buy SP2 when they come out and hopefully are on sale when they release.
(I was THIS close to buying a few more super packs for catalysts, but ended up getting them in game hehe) -
More money=good things for Paragon and the players.. so Yay
