I tend to overdo it when slotting for endurance reduction...

    [/ QUOTE ]

It doesn't matter if you're shooting BBs if you're doing it at minigun rates of fire or able to continue doing it while everyone else is taking a knee and hacking up a lung.
  2. But what happens if you get trapped in there?

ESPECIALLY if there's a distraught Tom Cruise in there with you?
  3. When you upgrade your base plot, you have to have enough free prestige to afford the plot in question.

HOWEVER, you're immediately refunded the cost of your previous base plot.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
Vet rewards were included in the gmotd, and they said not to use the affected character. I'd say that includes not claiming stuff also.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, I either didn't see or missed this.

    [ QUOTE ]
Like I said, you can do what you want. I posted for informational purposes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

And I was posting to basically state that, a week later, brand new instances of this are popping up.
  5. Okay long and short.

/Inv is primarily a resistance-based set. It has some decent defense that (with proper slotting) can soft-cap you.

/Will is a mixed bag of defense, resistance, and regeneration. Will has slightly lower resistances, so it's a bit more vulnerable to enemies that chuck defense debuffs like confetti (like Cimerorans).

Willpower is a nice all-around set that is, slotted right, essentially easy mode those not wanting a very click-heavy powerset. But in a couple cases, if you get the aforementioned "cascading defense failure", you faceplant like a squishy.

Invulnerability is a bit more work to manage well, and has a couple of well-known holes Also, it really only has one hit-point recovery mechanism (Dull Pain), which is a click power.

That and the Tier 9 power is of only limited utility and has a nasty after-effect of cratering both endurance AND hit points. Essentially an "I win" button that's really an "I lose" button if you can't kick the badguy's backside before the power times out.

providing it's not a solo VG

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Cue evil grin.

    [ QUOTE ]
There have been posts and motds saying not to do it.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Until this happened, I have seen neither the posts nor the MOTDs. I'd seen them for a related issue with some people getting booster pack content, but hadn't actually seen the issue with the vet rewards until after the fact.

    [ QUOTE ]
It creates more work for the Devs to have to add the item-removal script to begin with. And for all we know, that very script could cause more issues for other people once it runs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It's got to be created regardless. As they can't be certain that their data is clean otherwise.

    [ QUOTE ]

Obviously you can do what you want. I don't personally care. I just think people should be aware that it might not be a good idea to mess around with it. It could cause problems, and its not an honest thing to do.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, it isn't my intent to keep the stuff. I got a couple screenies for my weird stuff album, and that's about the extent of it.

I've bugged it as well. So it's not like the devs are going to "miss" that I have this stuff. And if it kills that toon, I'll lose an L10 toon that I didn't play, was a parody toon anyhow, and has a whopping 5000 inf on him. If it damages my VG, wow, they restore from a backup. Or I'm out a small VG that I prestige-botted myself.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
Not only are you putting your character at risk, but your SG's base as well.

    [/ QUOTE ]

So what? They're going to remove 1000 prestige from my group permanently?

And again, the character is mainly a parody/placeholder (was created specifically for the winter event) and is a whopping 10th level (and has XP turned off). If he goes away, it's not a huge loss. There's only a couple things in the market that haven't sold off yet.

Is it a risk? Sure. Is it a huge risk? Not really.
  8. Okay, this bug is still occurring. Logged into my MM Sunday night to recruit someone into my VG. Logged back into him later because I had forgotten to check his market transactions.

All of the sudden BOOM. 45 Month insta-vet.

    Aroo?!?!?

Just the MM (which I don't really play much, thankfully). Had this happened on my main, or on one of the toons I'm actively playing right now, I'd have been peeved.

Even so, until the change gets reverted, my VG now has a pair of Arachnos Fliers for gits and shiggles.
  9. That levitating effect? No no. You didn't accidentally turn on Fly.
You just emptied your pocketbook faster than the planet's gravity well could compensate for.

  10. Question, have you tried doing a "Verify Image"?

I started getting this behavior REALLY bad this morning. Everything was fine last night.
  11. Okay. Another successful Hami-raid under Woeful's belt.

This one was a blow for sheer, stubborn pigheadedness. We had a lot of new raiders this outing, and were lacking in hold power (so greens were taking us the longest time before we got the holds stacked on). Also, Hami showed up earlier than expected, so some people coming in expecting to pick up enough EoEs were sorta short-handed near the end of the raid.

I want to put a BIG FAT THANK YOU out to ALL the stoners out there who were working furiously for their infini-debt badges while keeping Lord Jello off the rest of us.

While we didn't exactly cover ourselves in glory (more like blood...lots of blood), we won, and Hamidon lost. Any successful raid you can med-TP away from...and all that.

  13. Were I you (you may now gasp in horror at the concept), I'd simply run a couple taskforces to make up the merit deficit.

You're talking 1-4 hours of time.

A single ITF would put you over the top.
  14. Yeah, average value per-merit comes out somewhere between 250-300K most of the time.
  15. I take it you don't have the merits (240) for this?
  16. I actually finally got my main through a Manticore on Monday (ah, aliteration!) to finish out my TFC accolade.

We only actually stealthed one or two missions in there. The rest we just steamrollered and dear GOD was it fun!

The reason it took two hours had almost nothing to do with how fast we ran the missions. We had a couple instances where people had to dump salvage/recipies at WW, everal bio-breaks, and a couple disconnects.

You're right. It's absurd to conclude that Power Customization could never happen in CoX.

How do I get another costume?

How'd you get that cool aura?

How do I get to Kings Row?

    What's agro?

    Where do I buy enchantments?

    What's a Task Force?

What are these Malta guys and why do they keep taking my blue bar?

    [/ QUOTE ]

This isn't solely the fault of farms.

A lot of those questions you're going to hear from newbies of WHATEVER level.

Instead of being a complete tard about it, I try to at least take a little time to explain stuff and at least point them at the Paragonwiki.

And if these people have been playing for the last two months solely in AE and now want to experience the rest of the game? GOOD! I can put up with a few "dumb" questions.

    [ QUOTE ]
And they had *INSERT [censored] BUILD*

    [/ QUOTE ]

And you've never hosed a build up. ESPECIALLY back when you were new?

Sure, maybe not THAT bad. But these people have been playing in a team environment from Day 1, so their bad choices have been mitigated by the overwhelming firepower of a group.

If you spent all your time buffed to high-heaven and were tearing through L50's left and right...WITHOUT a lot of your mitigation powers...

MA doesn't make newbies dumb. It just makes it easier for them to survive their dumb phase.

    1: Look harder
    2: Stop relying on broadcast
    3: Use the search function
4: Develop better team-forming skills and DIY
5: In worst case scenarios, just do some of your own missions and level to the point where you can hit another zone (takes all of about 30 minutes).
