Backing off? Good idea UNLESS YOU'RE TRYING FOR THE BADGE!!! Seriously you all need to add this to any post involving Baf. There is a badge for keeping the AVs at there original spawn point. You run they'll fallow. So if anyone mentions making a run for the master badge you just stand there and take your lumps. Your a tank it's what your built for.

Well It's not bad. But you do know that you can't use super jump and super speed at the same time right? And if you have Ninja run or Beast run neither is necessary. And you shouldn't over look Rise to the Challenge's to hit DeBuff of almost -5%. And the standard rule of thumb for defiance is to soft cap it to 45%. Doable but requires an expensive PVP IO. Adding the DeBuff it's almost 50% bypassing the normal 45% soft cap limit.
This is my setup. It has over 1000% regen as opposed to you're 600%. Better Accuracy, Defiance, and Resistance. The recharge is about half but with the way Elec draws end that's not such a bad thing.

I use Pyre Mastery instead of Mu but you should be able to adapt it to work. You should also look closely at summon striker as a pet it can equip Soulbound allegiance 3 slots give you +16% regen and +3% Hp.
Also the Export>Export Data Link is a somewhat better way of posting your build. -
Yesterday there were only 3. Today none. And there are holes in the steps. Like some of the squares cut in half diagonally making a triangle you can see through.

It doesn't work. In the LFG tab it has a check that should allow you to enter a trial already in progress. But it doesn't work. I was running a BAF and lost a few members for several different resins. I suggested that they use the join in progress to reenter the league but it didn't work.

Quote:Basically you want to be the super man the single person saving the whole world. Right? Well this you shouldn't have come to the CITY OF HEROES. You should have gone to Smallville where there is less competition.I think I misspoke and you read my post as saying something else. I'm not looking for recognition from other people, I'm looking for recognition from the system. Whether other people notice my absence or not is just a symptom of power balance. When I say "and nobody notices," I don't mean to say "I regret that my contribution was not appreciated" so much so that "the team was strong enough to run with fewer people than are actually on it." When team strength is such that my contribution is irrelevant, I feel like a freeloader, even in instances when people try their darnest to reassure me that "No, really, it's OK, you're helping."
It probably seems self-centric of me to say this. It probably is. But the fact of the matter is that praise and reassurance is irrelevant. I know most people in-game are kind souls whose tolerance for team-mates is rather much more benevolent than the forums would suggest, so I know they really have no problem with me being on the team. But what I look for is the game system facts, and the game system facts are that the team performs well adequately with or without my intervention. Whether or not my presence is appreciated, I am factually useless to the team at this point, because I am not improving anything. If I left, the team would not be worse off, lack of idle chit-chat notwithstanding.
But here's the thing - I don't need to be on a team to engage in banter and chit-chat and hang out with friends. I'm more than capable of doing that over personal tells and over global channels, and have been doing so or years. So when team dynamics are such that my character ends up being superfluous to events happening on-screen, I feel smaller and useless. It doesn't mean I get depressed, but it's not how I prefer to spend my leisure time.
About the only time I make an exception to that rule is the instances where my character may not be very useful, but either my knowledge of the game or my organisational skills do play a part, which isn't very often. The last I can recall is running an Admiral Stutter TF with Zamuel and a few others, where we were doing VERY badly against double Durays, to the point where people were saying "We can't do this!" These are the times when someone needs to step up and say "Yes, we can! Back up, regroup and let's try this another way." Since Zamuel was lagging to hell and back, it fell to me and the team leader to organise, simply because we were the two loudest guys on the team. But that really only plays a part when things go back, which is generally not something I prefer to come to.
The problem comes with difficulty scaling and character power. As teams get larger, any specific player's contribution becomes less visible, even to the contributing player. It's twice as bad for me since I don't build for power, but rather for concept, ease and comfort, which leaves me behind the curve in even more ways, for lack of set bonuses if nothing else. The simple fact is that teaming with other people simply demonstrates to me that they are better players (and they are) and ruins my ability to live in my own little fantasy world of awesomeness. Rather than motivate me to try harder, it ends up demotivating me to not bother, for the simple fact that I'm not a competitive person, or even a very driven person. I come here for fun and leisure, not for achievement.
I'm not saying I won't do large-scale events ever for any reason. I probably will when opportunity falls into my lap. I AM saying that I'd like to do other things most of my time, since "other things" is what I enjoy, whereas large-scale events feel more like work or a chore. I know for a fact I'd almost never do them if it weren't for the rewards tied to them, which ought to say something.
You want recognition proof of your worth thin you'll have to get it in the same way you would in the real world. And it's not hitting harder or saving the say it's by being better and proving your worth and Lead!
I never felt more important in this game than when my strategy earned my team the Baf Strong and Pretty Badge. It matched or exceeded the euphoria I felt when I first got my toon up to lvl 50.
I'm sorry if you lost the since of the game is all about "Super Bob" feeling you used to have. But even in comics things shift and change.
Once they were content on having "SUPER BOB" rush in exchange some witty banter with enemies and fly away.
Thin for a while things changed, expanded, and they focused on more of a group dynamic.
Thin after a while they split back into individuals with complex background and relevant individuals that expanded the caricatures beyond just the, "SUPER BOB SAVES THE DAY!!!", bit that previous existed making them into not just super beings but real people to.
The same kind of ebb and flow exists everywhere even in this game. The developers can't work on everything all the time. They more or less throw darts (ideas) at a board and see what sticks. Thin they try to group these ideas into a common them and call it an issue. So yes with this issue it is all about teams. But maybe next issue it'll be all about solo work. Maybe the next issue will be all about pizza or bacon.
There have bin a lot of other issues where there haven't bin any added solo or team content did you complain about all them?
Comments suggestions these are helpful things. But criticism and complaints? Well odds are they are taking that old artist advice and simply ignoring them which make your opinion roughly meaningless. You want to make the system better thin tell them how write a story give an idea. Don't just give a detailed explanation as to why YOU don't like it. Tell them how to make it better for everybody. Because the fact is, that since so many people are seeking out against and I have read nary a line of support means that you are only thinking of you and that is just next to nothing. -
Quote:They are adding new ones. They showed a bit of one they'll be in the next issue. They also mentioned that it'll have an optional stealth component for stalkers and others with like abilities. My only REAL problem with the multi-group content for the Incarnate stuff (apart from the WoWism of it all), is that really, TWO trials? That you have to repeat again and again and again to get your shineys?
It makes absolutely NO sense, story wise, whatsoever, to repeat the same mission again and again, ad nauseum. It's the continual ignoring of making the game story make any sense that grinds my gears more than anything else.
They need to either give us way more trials to run for our incarnate progression, or they need to expand the areas where incarnate rewards are granted (ie, ALL level 50 content should give drops for all types of incarnate slots.)
Oh, and as for the "IT'S WAR!" comments earlier. Until we actually SEE this "war" in the general zones, I can't consider it as actually happening in Primal Earth. Kings and Steel aren't heavily damaged from Praetorian invaders, so those missions must be on some other Earth that we're helping out. -
I think they mentioned something about solo incarnate stuff. They would naturally reward Astral Merit Salvage and Empyrean Merit Salvage.

Quote:I read this and think "wow you must me honorable to team with".For me, CoH has always been a game about single groups. It's been accessible to soloers, duoers, and single teams.
With a few exceptions, the vast majority of the content for City of Heroes fits this rule. Every issue before issue 20 has made a point of NOT tying progression or character customization to raid content.
Even with the most difficult, trial-like content, the point of the game has been to work well together in small squads rather than huge armies. This is even written into the game lore in various places. (Alpha and Omega teams, anyone? Marcus and Stefan ditched their small team and DUOED their way to the Well of the Furies.)
With Issue 20, Paragon has embraced warcraft-style raid instances. I didn't have a lot of time to try to beta i20, so I got to experience this at launch with the majority of other players. What surprised me most is how tied the new advancement is to the raid content. You *can* very slowly and expensively convert solo progress into new progression and customization, but the issue has made quite clear that the PREFERRED method is to raid for it.
This sucks. I burned out on raiding before I ever came to CoH. The feeling of being part of an army is not really fun for me. Even with very fun people I like, the feeling of being in a raid leaves me cold. I'm a faceless minion that could be replaced by anyone rather than an important member of the Five Man Band. I'm either a cat to be herded or an inhuman general to be kvetched at because I don't know how to lead well.
It's not 'Super' at all. I19 captured 'Super' so well, having you fly into Praetoria while all the other heroes of Paragon City were holding the line. It felt really awesome to defend the PPD against a legion of warwalkers.
I20 has you two-shotted by Marauder and his band of Warwalkers again and again. Not so super. 'Oh, here's a little progress on your bar. Surely if you keep at it, you and 15 other random heroes will eventually be able to put him down.' No, that's not very super at all.
The difference between the two is requiring multiple groups to succeed at the content.
Worse, to progress in anything LIKE a timely fashion through the new abilities, you MUST raid. The alternative is at least a 5x timesink grinding shards.
After COMPLETING both raids with talented parties composed of people I like, I'm starting to see that there's not a lot in i20 for me.
I'm pretty disappointed.
I've had lodes of fun both being a part of a team and leading. And while I did feel rather un-important right at first. Now that I have a few slots under my belt I'm realy starting to feel important. A good team that was getting taken out in 2 shots can now smack him down like any other AV. And while leading has had a few problems, fing MAKE SURE YOU HAVE LEAGUE CHAT ON, It has bin rather fun especially whin you win even though you think you wouldn't. Doubly so now that most know the basic hot to dos. All one realy needs to do is issue a few basic commands... and pray. :P
It takes about 3 runs to unlock each of your first set of slots about 2 more to get enough components to set them to tear 3, depending on how well you do in them. Maby 1/3-1/2 more than that for the next 2. Granted getting them all to teir 4 will take a while but IT"S SUPPOSED TO. You seem like the sort that likes to max his caricature in a week. Well that's not going to happen. Casual play is good but it isn't going to be equal to those of us who make a dedicated effort to enjoy all this game has to offer. About the only think that bothers me is twiddling my thumbs through the cut seens. And the occasional instability in the leage system. -
If there RPing do they even need to be in the same zone. And if they did they could go to Camora or where ever. IT's a free game and NO ONE has the right to tell anyone where they can an can not go.
-
You that has bin happening. Whole sections of the league getting cut off. With no explicable resin.

Future Weekly Strike Targets.
I kind of want to see the Oro TF as strike targets. You never hear of people running them.
Which ones do you want to see? -
The only veritable that differentiates this WST from others is the 2 part nature of the Positron Task Force. Has anyone tried completing the second half or the complete oro version of it?

Quote:Not a clone. It's the primal and praetorian Duray's are working together.Ran Cutter on a PuG on Victory the other day.
Was pretty fun but the last mission is a bit of a grind
*SPOILERS*
You go into Skyway City, eventually facing off against Duray and a clone Duray. The real Duray teleports to and fro, meanwhile you face off against Sky Raiders and, iirc, IDFs too. We got kinda confused after using the hopsital, trying to jetpack through the cracks in the highway instead of taking the sewer entrance...to the highway.
*SPOILERS*
Very visceral in the first part though, I'd certainly do it again, probably tonight with one my supergroups.
For Kal, you need to do a tip mission redside. The tip will say something about wizards (?) and send you on a few missions.
For Cutter, he's in Independence Port nearish the hospital area on a cruiser. -
Quote:Baka. Just send your team leader to go get them. Or have some of the team members that have already joined step out of zone. Or even simply start the trial and have the others join via the LFG tab.Zone Tetris.
This is when people struggle to get all their league members into the same zone at the same time to start their trials. It gets really bad when more than one large league is trying this at the same time.
Broadcast in the RWZs can get almost silly, with people begging anyone to leave the zone so their last members can get in.
Tonight, a BAF league I was on went through two RWZs, the Midnighter Club, Cimerora, Pocket-D, and finally to Pocket-D-2 before we could get started. It took a while, with some members not being able to find these zones, not have access to Midnight or Cimerora unlocked, and so on. Players were getting impatient and dropping, and we continually recruited to get back up.
Short of being able to start the trial with a pre-made league from mixed zones, just like the individual queue allows; does anyone have any ideas on how to work with or around Zone Tetris?
Did you think the trials worked like ordinary TFs? They don't.
You don't even have to be on a league to join a trial.
If you must be on the same zone try one of the PVP arias. There usually sparely populated. -
Quote:So that's what that blank spot was for.Hi NT,
If you edit one of your chat tabs and include the "Cutscene Captions" chat channel, the caption text from those dialogue lines should appear there for you to read after-the-fact. I know I had to manually add it on my launch-day character's chat settings, though it is included in Global by default for new characters.
There had previously been a bug where the channel for these dialogue lines did not have a visible name, but we fixed that in i20, so it should now be easy to add so all of your characters can enjoy the story of TFs and Trials at their leisure. -

Quote:Well it's not as if they have to trade the powers. Anyone can use the acid without much problems. And as long as they talk about it before hand there shouldn't be trouble with the pas grenades ether. This is actually a bit of a good point. UI design and documentation are important and go hand in hand. I haven't played the Lambda sector map yet, but if there aren't clear clues to what the powers do then some should be added.
1. There should be a special Icon design on the power that indicates it is tradable.
2. There should be a note on the description that the power is tradable. We already have yellow, orange, blue and red text in mission descriptions. I vote for some bright green text on the description that says "This power is tradable."
3. A note on the pop-up help too. "Acid Molecule [Tradable]" is how I would do it.
Make it as obvious as possible. Folks need several hints how game mechanics work to ensure that they'll notice a new mechanic (we have had no tradable powers, that I can recall). An even better design is to have a short intro mission where players are introduced to the idea of a tradable temp power, so they'll recognize the concept when it comes up in the TF.
The critical aspect of these raids is that everybody has to know what they are doing. As in, at least until the proper information gets passed around enough, a great deal of talking/typing will be required to get everybody on the same page. And in that regard it's the same as every other raid.
What I'm hoping they'll do is make it so that ship and hammy raids can also function like that. I know the leag component works but I'm talking about the group transporter. -
Team-Up-Teleporter*:"" "(The Team-Up-Teleporter is currently only available for Incarnate Trials on the same server.)"

You should try replacing those luck of the gamblers defense/recharge with recharge speed. It adds the same defense but the recharge is global.
In addition swapping those basic invention: Healing with a third Numeria's convalescence will add a max HP set bonus which helps with Regen.
In addition eventually whin you have the spare cash you might want to cosider sacrificing a slot in Rise to the challenge for another in health and adding the PVP IO Pancia: +hit points/end to it.
Lastly the gladiator's armor PVP IO will mace a nice replacement for the resist IO in Strength of Will.
That's all I can suggest for the will side of things. I don't know enough about Ice to help there. -
For some reason my attacks hurt her. The first time thay even killed her makking the mission incomplete-able.

Where's the mention of the next incarnate slots?

Is there anyway you can make the NOT INSTALLED menu collapse. It's kind off annoying. And I'm not going to buy something just because it intrudes into my favorite game.
See mock up.
