1. A side, but connected question:

Regarding the female BM display character: Just what IS that...hat...that she's wearing? It looks like something with antlers. And more importantly, is it available anywhere?

Looking back at the previous answers, I'd say they were both correct. What it appears is that you may be thinking that 'cool-down' and 'suppression' are the same.

Cool-down 'usually' means that there's a time period between activations (think recharge).

Suppression 'usually' means that it doesn't activate while another instance of said power is already activated.

In other words: On one of my */wp brutes, if I have a + recovery proc in both stamina and quick recovery, even if both fire off at the same time, only one would actually be active and there'd be a period of time before either one could fire off again. (I'm not sure if that's exactly how the performance shifter proc works, but am using it as an example)

Looking at the Wiki explanation, it's basically saying that the + recharge can occur from multiple mob hits and that all it would do is extend the 100% recharge duration from 5 seconds to however many seconds, not go from 100 to whatever % recharge, all of this without an internal cool-down.

Now that I think I've confused myself, I'll go back into obscurity...

Weird new notice

So there I was in AP, I just leveled my new /time character to 21 when I got an announcement that "an enhancement has been awarded".

Nothing had been added to any of my inventories, so I wonder, was that a bug, or something that just "randomly" popped up.

When it occurred, the graphics for it were like when you hit a new level (eg, giant yellow text that shrinked towards the level number).

I'll check my powers later just in case 'something' got added, but it was just a weird event that caught my eye since none of my previous characters had ever had that happen to them (pre-i21).
4. My 2 inf:

The REAL reason for the looks that BAB and Psyche have is simply this: after years of pestering by Serge, Manticore is FINALLY trying out a new costume. The problem is, most of the rhinestones Serge used were replaced by an Arachnos squad with Dr. Aeon™ brand 'Time-Altered Shivan Sprouts'.
Within moments of Manticore debuting his new look, most of the altered rhinestones popped off when he took a deep breath (as Serge seems to like the whole super tight latex look) and are bouncing around Galaxy City causing chaos and mayhem.
The remaining rhinestones on Manticore's new outfit are more than enough to catch any and all light and amplify it several hundred times, thereby washing out some colors. The overall look of the outfit (which I leave as an exercise to the reader) is so...different...from Manticore's usual look, Psyche is struck dumb.
5. Am I correct in thinking that if I were to place that Gaussians: Chance for BU into say, the crab spider TT:Leadership, that it would attempt to fire every time the toggle pulsed, or would it only attempt to work when I actually clicked it?
6. You know what I'd like for my warshades: Hover.

That's right, a nice, slow, highly controllable form of flight. Don't get me wrong, flight in nova form is dandy, but I just HATE the whole "cautious glide" I have to engage in on missions so as not to overshoot something and aggro the ENTIRE.FRIGGIN.PLANET.

That or flight speed de-buff enhancements.

On a side note, I like that idea of Kheldian only enhancements.
7. Whilst playing about in Mids, I noticed that when I slotted taunt, the listed duration increased. This got me to thinking: Can the actual bomb duration be increased, or is that hard-coded?

Note, other than for possible comedic purposes (eg, making groups of Hellions cry in despair as an indestructible bomb mocks them, sorta like the infamous desk from certain missions back in the day), I realize making the bomb last a while is kinda counter to the whole purpose of a bomb AND that recharge would be "better"....BUT, I was thinking more along the lines of having just a couple more seconds for a follow-up in an attempt to sneak around the Great Lag Beast of Zeptar 9.
8. So there I was passing through the Tiki Room in Pocket D when I saw a crab spider at the tailor. What caught my eye about this individual was that they had the usual wolf spider helmet(NOT the crab one) and what appeared to be one of the jawline/chin elements from the regular helmets (eg, selecting helmet and then selecting something like "Cyborg" under Detail 2 or 3). Sadly I didn't think to screenshot the item in question, otherwise I'd link it.

That got me to think about what I'd like an alt costume to look like, but when I went o check at the costume editor, I couldn't do it. I do have the 51 month reward, so I can get the helmet, and I tried to do it with the first slot on one of my SoAs, but no dice.

Now I've heard of the glitch concerning using a saved costume to bypass making the crab backpack visible, but I've never heard of something similar to get "extra" stuff to show up with an Arachnos helmet.

So my question is, just what was I seeing? Perhaps someone out there in forumland has seen something close?
9. Well, if I may toss in my 2 inf,

From the beginning, CoX has always been based off of the Greek myths and epics and as such I find it interesting that up until now, we've only seen two thirds of a MAJOR part of those epics.

Consider, if States is Zeus and Recluse is Hades, then who's Poseidon? You know, the one god powerful enough to take on both of his brothers, yet doesn't.

Another thing to consider, at least in paralleling the Greek myths to CoX, consider that in the Iliad, Troy was represented by Poseidon. Could Nemesis' initial foray into Praetoria (I seem to remember Nemesis went there before they came over, but my memory may be rusty), be considered equivalent to the Trojan Horse, in which case there may be that whole "what has happened before, will happen again" kinda goofiness?

Also, when it comes to seeing which of the NPC's are Incarnates, consider what they stand for, as in States/Zeus ~ the nobler aspects, Recluse/Hades ~ not so noble aspects. What does Lady Grey stand for? The Hamidon? Hero 1? Your own character?

Finally, as I haven't played too much of the end game stuff, I could be wrong, what if the Well is showing favoritism simply to test its' chosen for that "Coming Storm" that I seem to remember is still waiting in the wings?

Anywho, back to the Kablooie Cave™ for me!
10. Just as a side note, here's a list of countries/colonies that use the colors red, white, and blue in their national flags...

1. Australia
2. Cambodia
3. Chile
4. Costa Rica
5. Cuba
6. Czech Republic
7. France
8. Iceland
9. North Korea
10. Laos
11. Liberia
12. Luxembourg
13. Myanmar (Burma)
14. Nepal
15. Netherlands
16. New Zealand
17. Norway
18. Panama
19. Russia
20. Samoa
21. Slovakia
22. Slovenia
23. Taiwan
24. Thailand
25. United Kingdom
26. United States
27. Faroe Islands
28. Reunion

Just bringing those up as a way for you to go even further with the "patriot" concept, as in you could be the Spirit of Patriotism...or something, I dunno, I think I'm rambling now.

Carrion Creepers

Something I just finally noticed:

Creepers just HATE the Oil Slick pet from OSA. Heck, the flytrap hates it as well. Just something to point out if you notice your plant pets not putting out as much dps as they "should". Granted they won't ignite it, but they can kill it.
12. Just my 2 inf:

Since I'm still new at this Kheldian thing, I too got frustrated at the whole "everything and it' cousin mezzing me happy-funtime extravaganza".

My sorta solution: "Impervious Skin: Mez Status Protection", gives a +7.5% in mez reduction/resistance (whichever it is)...and they're non-unique.

I currently have 2 slotted and have a third waiting for a power selection. That'll give me a 22.5% mez....thingie.

After playing around in Mids...if you were crazy enough and took ALL the shields, tough, and slotted one into dwarf form, you "could" end up with 37.5% mez status whatever. And that's not even taking into account the Aegis:Mez Status enhancement.

Note: I figure that regardless of whether it's mez "resistance" or "status duration", ANY amount you can throw in that direction is a "good idea"...if you can spare the slots. Don't get me wrong, I took dwarf form and it's a blast AND taking that much mez resist would be a "little" silly for dwarf form, but for human form? Can't hurt to get a couple.
13. As someone whose recently gotten access to Kheldians (as of the last double xp weekend), I'd like to echo Memphis Bill.

With this caveat or whatever:

Don't get attached to your VERY first kheldian. Make it a "throw-away", as in, play around with it, slot it, take whatever powers you want to play with, and most importantly, stay away from the AE with this one.

Why? This way you find out how well your personal playstyle meshes with the AT and, by staying away from the AE...you learn new tactics. (Quantum gunners and Void seekers tend to pop up at the worst moments usually, but they give me something to expect and look for in the groups of goons.)

Also, to help with playing a Kheldian, don't make one with the mindset that it's supposed to be "epic" in scale and power. Instead think of it more as a "reward" AT in the same vein as the veteren powers. (ex. When I made my first "real" Kheldian, I think of her as a VERY frail blaster and I seem to do just fine.)

...that or wait til GR goes live and level a demon summoning mm to 50. Either way, I figure I'll be leveling a few Keld alts until then (so MANY ways to play these guys!)
15. After almost four years playing my many, many,...many alts, I finally got one of my characters to 50 this weekend and unlocked the Kheldians!

I started my little baby PB today, and so far it's been pretty fun. Granted she's still under level 10, but it looks like Kheldians and my style of playing seem to mesh rather well. Other than the initial "bleh" starting missions involving some Vahz (which taught me a few new tactics since most were orange at my level 2), I seem to be able to handle most spawns.

...and more importantly, I now understand why quantum and void gunners are to be watched for...

Anywho, back to Virtue I go!

Carrion Creepers

For my 2 inf,
carrion creepers are AWESOME for the one mission map I keep getting (one of the tech bases) that places 4-6 spawns of whatever right on top of each other.

And they're REALLY useful when those spawns are composed of groups that have a high "re-pop" chance (I'm looking at the higher level Freaks)
17. The other day, I re-installed CoX onto a newer (but still "old" compared to what's out now) machine than what I normally use (something from 2002-ish) simply because I got a little tired of switching comps.

The problem I ran into was that every time I'd try to access my contacts, turn in a mission, or get a new badge message, CoX would crash. It didn't matter the resolution or what I'd have dis-abled or whatnot...it would only work in safe mode at 800x600.

I had forgot something. On this newer machine, CoX was a resource prima donna. It didn't like running as part of a dual monitor set-up on an SLi machine, oh no...it wanted the WHOLE resource pie and nothing else would appease it.

So...I enabled SLi mode (ie, 2 cards running one monitor), and >POOF< everything works just fine.

Anywho, just thought I'd throw that little tidbit out in case anyone else was having a similar problem.
18. I found it rather useful when, on a low level alt in CoV, I got a timed mission leading to one of the rare "high-altitude, no way up to it" doors in Mercy.
