Stalkers vs MMs

Im not sure, i fought a force mastery blaster who had the same idea, it diddnt work, which surprised me. though that could be because i had the time to debuff.

I assume repulse would break hide, so perhaps, i quick scattering of minions followed by placate and AS (or ET for those lucky nrg melee stalkers)could do it.

I would like to see how a spines stalker would fair... they may be able to cut a few minions down quickly, leaving the MM in some trouble

Stalkers vs MMs

[ QUOTE ]

VS non /ff, stalkers can get close to the MM and his pets. Critical unresisted dmg doesnt spread over pets IIRC, and they can mez, so shouldn't be much an effort getting to 2 shot the MM quickly

[/ QUOTE ]

Newsflash: yes it does.

[/ QUOTE ]

Hammerfall is right, i have tested this Vs boths scrappers and stalkers.

Because BG inst proper resistance its is the total damage of an attack distributed amongst the remaining pets. also the blaster unresistable portion of damage if infarct resisted.

A fully protected MM really is tough to kill 1vs1 without AoE

PS i hope i haven't made up that portion unresistable damage thing in PvP, i dont play my blaster much

Also is it just really unsporting to not let MMs summon first? or it just funny?

[/ QUOTE ]

Its unsporting. No mastermind in there right mind would agree to an arena match that didn't allow them to summon and prepare their minions. Its like fighting a Broadsword scrapper that isn't allowed to use his sword...

[/ QUOTE ]

I never make any arrangements to allow me to summon my pets.. thats crazy. pets are what defines MMs true, and without them they are pretty weak, but that doesn't mean that an MM should get special treatment, i will throw everything i can at anyone i fight if they show a moments of weakness, a tank without toggles, some forgotten mez protection, no end, a tier 9 crash or an MM that has no pets.

Incidentally i fought a scrapper in the cage match a while ago, and got my pets up and running without a death. (demonic helped, but i would certainly give it ago even without).

P.s
this summoning rule, would it apply if on or none of the pets had recharged after death?
6. I would never skip antidote, its a great power for teaming and solo, the malta can stun my pets for quite some time.

I dont agree with the awful teaming set either, yes the two main debuffs are single target, but when i play my MM i can slow the whole mob (debuff with nox gas if necessary) while i tear the more tough targets down too size.... i have never seen paragon protecters fall as fast as when i bring my MM along
7. Thats exactly they way i see it, i would love to have the traps poison trap, but with the rest of the poison set, it would be over powered.

Sinergy_X put it far better though
8. Gratz both all you smurfs that hit 50.

hope you had time to admire the scenery on your way, i hear you shot up the lvls pretty rapidly.
9. I currently have a necro/poison MM with PvP in mind. will i am pretty sure bots would have an easier time i certainly have fun and enjoy being the only necro PvP MM i know (the only necro MM in my SG too) but mabey i need to get out more. my current build is This if the link works, and its done pretty well for me. when thing go wrong it is usualy my faults as a player and not the build.

Endurance - this is really important, everything sucks your end quite drastically ( i want power mastery ;p). dont be afraid to slot For end instead of recharge or improving the debuff as most powers dont stack with them self. Also they are pretty effective and you would want to try and keep em perma on your oponant, something that cannot be done if you have no end.

Soul extraction - i found that power amazing around lvl 18 for quite some lvls until i rarely used it after lvl 30. i personally don't use it for PvP. i can see why some would take it, it doesn't despawn after you die it also allows you to place 4 mag 3 holds on a target, more at lvl 50 if you can stack you own. i have had 6 holds staked b4 through alot of luck easily enough to get a tank that was cockey enough to leave BF'S at home. but i find it largely ineffective unless your lich dies and you dont want that (from a zombie it coms -2lvls to your opponent, how often do blue cons cause any trouble in PvE).

and slot your lich 2acc and 2 tohit debuff the other to are up to you, i usually take 2fear.

Good advise is contained in the linky, if you do make a necro poison good luck and hope you have as much fun with your zombie horde as i did.

P.s Slows are you friend, get em, slot em, love em
10. Thank you for all the tips every1. i have been testing this build fairly rigorously and the advice mentioned seems to work out.

the key things i saw mentioned
Regen Vs Recovery - i did always wonder if i was wasting the slots in Regen as my HP is so low. it seems that regen does play a very small part in my survival it is nelegable compared to what extra end could do for me, so i will work on that for my nxt build.

Movement Pool. on reflection it may be better to get TP and TP foe instead of combat jump. I mainly find my self in the arena where i don't need to hunt my foes to the same extent, and it would really help with runners alowing me to bring the fight to me melee pets instead of trying to chase any1 that resist or dodge my slows, especialy those who leg it just as elude drops - That power is the bane of my life .

Self heal - Poison has no self heal but the necro primary does. though it does not heal as many HP per sec, it is uninteruptable need no prerequisite (i have a better version on Aid other and stimulant available to me) it also saves on pool powers. and between debuffs + to hit i dont normaly miss the heal unless i meet an eluded SR O_O.

thankx again for the advice, i will get working on a new build now
11. Ive been trying to figure out a PvP build for my nerco/poison MM, and this is what i have come up with so far.

just wondering if people see any massive flaws...
i don't have every IO listed there but i have most and thought to leave them in this version as place holders as i hope to get them soon.

Endurance reduction was important to this build as i have often found myself on the run due to eating through my blue bar far too quickly.

also im not sure if i balanced slotting efficiency + key set bonuses well.

any help is greatly apritiated
12. Herculon_EU

Naming minions

I named my zombues after villains in a book i was reading
Sayre, Mordred, Flagg and my Extracted essence Dandello.

My two grave nights are names after sociologists for some reason . Durkeim and Weber (Vaber)

and my lich is named after a friends Dark scrapper Mr Hertz
13. Ill be there with my brute or MM, depending on which is needed at the time... as long as im not at work when its scheduled
14. Herculon_EU

Advice Request

i assume your talking about the -regen? (sorry if im being stupid here i just don't recognize those numbers)
looking at no future, and im my experience with my lvl 45 necro/poison it is perma and stacks, which means it was effected less by the regen nerf. AV's and EBs get progressively weaker (i spam it far to much to make sure they don't feel healthy for a second).
edit I forgot the clicky
it is great not just for AV's any mobs that loiter on the map too much like those moged protectors
15. Herculon_EU

Advice Request

as you have mainly buffs and damage going on, would opt for a /poison MM of some debuff fun, it will also help bring down the more powerful foes quickly and safely. the easiest primary i think would be bots or thugs. bots has some very nice AoE potential in later levels(would add the the drasic amounts of AoE your team already has) , thugs seems a bit more single target but still very damaging.
depends on how you would like to play.
(i would avoid necro as you already have alot of control and that seems its main strength, and ninjas sound a bit tricky, but i have no experience of them or how they would work with your team)

and welcome to the boards
16. fair point, the numbers don't lie . i couldn't find an attack chain planner on mids builder, perhaps it is still worth keeping my other planner.

i have officially changed my mind, go with stone fists... unless you want to take tough
17. i was recently talking about a stone/fire as well.
i think what is really important is letting your fury bar do the work, slot for end reduction and recharge primarily instead of damage (fury does more that SO's can), as stone like you say can be a bit savage on endurance, and the recharge is not suited for generating fury.

you also have alot of soft control waiting for you to reduce fury even more. your best bet would be making sure you get the alpha strike for some instant fury, heal and then as much knockdown as you feel is necessary. then smash though them with a massive hammer with binds about how mighty you are , SMASH!

as far as PvP goes i would rather NRG, SS or even dark. though it does have some solid hits and you could do quite well for yourself. i cant say too much about stone in PvP ive only ever used it once (somehow killed a stalker on my stone tank with unsloted attacks!!) and come against it once
18. but 1.5 seconds more recharge, making up for the animation, i would prefer it for a fury builder... up to personal preference i suppose, though stone fists could tempt me if i wanted to slot another attack. with slots i would possibly prefer stone fists (it has a tad more damage).

experiment, find the build that works best for you
19. [ QUOTE ]
<QR>

Flurry doesn't really build Fury. It would be a waste in my opinion. Fury would tick once when activated, then drop 2 to 3 ticks during the course of the animation. It's the same with Shadowmaul in Dark Melee (except Shadowmaul has better damage and is a cone for a chance to hit more than 1 enemy).

[/ QUOTE ]

Spot on. don't take flurry... unless you love the animation i suppose. there are many better options
20. after a few mins a have a build a bit like this

its very unrefined but i think it should do what your asking, i have left out IO slotting as that depends on personal preference and availability (plus if you even want to bother with IO's)
i diddnt place a travel power as it looks prety easy to get from A-B without on an EA brute, and gives you great combat mobility, (you could loose swift for SS though)

i threw boxing (but you could take AS) into that build because despite slotting alot of end recharge reductions in there it may be nice to have a fast low end attack. you wont build fury from taking hits on a toon like this so you need to generate as much as possible for your self. and antidote in case you wanted medicine after all.

the most losable powers from this build are swift, boxing and antidote, to help you get what you want from your build.
you could loose build up, but i would want to keep it on a stone brute even if you are after a burly controller, it will help verses ACC debuffs or vengeance.

use them to throw in aid self, lightening field or even tough but that is against your concept really.

anyway your key powers are fault and tremor, between though your can control mods long enough to kill em quite safely

yep the 47 ties are getting a bit more active on the villain side, just posting after an SF now. you can join if you want or alternatively just team when we do an SF, i have no rules about SG only whenever im in running it.

Im now a full time villain so post your global on this thread and ill remember it for the next SF or alternatively
/t @herculon,
and watch the boards like the others have said, people often post here for SF spaces to improve turnout
