Quote:There have been 2 Thursday issue releases... Issue 2 and Issue 6.I would be overjoyed. I find it doubtful however.
I don't remember a Thursday release
Issue 2 is often mistakenly said to have been released on Friday, but it was Thursday, and its bugs and resultant weekend work for the support staff are often cited as reasons they don't usually release issues so late in the week.
Issue 6 was released on a Thursday to coincide with the 3-day headstart for City of Villains. -

I wonder how many people continued playing on Test once they looked over the new info in the Incarnate interface and actually got their rare. It was only on Test for 4 days before going live, and most of that was during Live's Double XP Weekend...

I can't get to the main site or the forums from 2 different computers (one Win7, the other XP) using 3 different browsers (IE8, Chrome, FF), but I can get to them from my Droid just fine...

Quote:What happened to BaB isn't completely unknown. It was reported by at least one or two gaming sites that he was let go in a round of layoffs, and he himself confirmed it on his blog here.Castle and theOcho both found left of their own volition. theOcho just explicitly stated he found a better job; Castle neither confirmed nor denied, but he got a "goodbye" post, which is traditionally only given to Devs leaving of their own accord (All Community Reps make goodbye posts).
The only unknown is BABs, and it should continue to remain unknown. -
It's definitely not restricted to active accounts. I've been invited to two Closed Betas during brief periods when I wasn't subscribing. My son's inactive account got an invite for I19's CB as well.

Thanks! I'd forgotten about this part of the Super Leader process:
Quote:Also, I thought I'd read somewhere that the selection of the new Super Leader after an alignment change was random, but upon searching for that I couldn't find it. I probably imagined it.The highest ranking member with the most recent log-in time will be auto-promoted once Super Leader position is vacated.
Thanks again. -
I know that if you're the Super Leader of a Supergroup and you switch completely from Hero to Villain (or vice versa), your character gets demoted and another character gets promoted to the Super Leader position. My question is, is this completely random? Or is it based upon which other character had the most recent login or their rank or some other factor?
-
Quote:Yeah, that's what it's doing to me now. Originally on my computer, it was giving me a "cannot connect to login server" or some such message; couldn't get to the server list at all.I can log in, but every server name is grayed out and unselectable.
I got on my wife's computer, and could get to the grayed-out server list. Returning to my own computer, I'm getting the grayed out server list now. -
Just to add my voice to the chorus here, I can't log in at all right now. I haven't tried since before the maintenance the other day. I've restarted the game, rebooted my computer, etc etc etc. Currently verifying files just for the heck of it.
EDIT: As expected, verifying files didn't make a difference. -
Quote:^^^^This. Please reconsider the changes to CaH/V Culture. Something similar was tried two years ago and luckily was (mostly) retracted.Boo: Comic/Culture changes.
Yay: Rest of it.
Perhaps just change Comic/Culture to 'Off Topic'?
I can see Westley's Paragon Unleashed getting a boost in membership if these changes are allowed to go through as they're stated. -
Quote:I don't wanna be the one to have to tell Marcian Tobay that Glee threads might not be allowed anymore...This too. I can understand not wanting Political/Religious threads, but if the community is interested in also discussing other games, even if they are the competition's, I think it's only fair to let them. CaH/V Culture is essentially the off-topic forum, afterall.
-
I think it's a bad idea to stop non-CoH game discussion in the CaH/V Culture forum. That was tried once before and went over very badly.
Other than that, the changes are fine. -

Feedback request: I'm always looking for general feedback on story aspects of all my arcs, of course, but for this one I'd specifically like to hear what you think about the custom faction "Elite Vahzilok." This arc is sort of a "beta test" for the group, as I intend to use them in something much bigger down the road. Let me know what you think of them, especially in terms of balance concerns and visuals. Thanks! -
Changes made to #97980, "Victors Online"
Reduced difficulty of ambushes in first mission, based on feedback
Changed custom faction name from "Victors Online" to "Mysterious Development"
Added text in custom critter bios and NPC dialogue -
After a too-long hiatus from writing MA storyarcs, I'm getting back into the groove of things again. I'm creating this thread to consolidate my arc announcements and to gather feedback for all my arcs. I'll be creating some new arcs over the next few weeks, as well as going back and reworking my existing arcs.
When providing feedback for my arcs (whether here or in-game), mention if you have an arc you'd like me to play in return. I'll do my best to reciprocate.

Quote:As one of the channel's operators (not that I've been super active lately, but that'll change soonishI don't know what channel you're talking about but if it was the MA Arc Finder channel then I don't think there is such a policy. The channel is public so nobody can be banned anyway. As far as I know.
), I can tell you I've never known such a "rule" to be in place. I think if someone were spamming about farming they might be asked, nicely, to stop, as that's not really the purpose of the channel. But, really, if someone were spamming about ANYTHING they'd be asked to stop, so it's not like there's an anti-farming sentiment there.
MA Arc Finder's primary purpose is definitely story-driven, but some of us who really enjoy the story aspects of the game also enjoy the farming aspects. I'd hate to discourage anyone from asking questions about the MA in the channel, despite the nature of the question. -
Might want to post Arc ID numbers to help people find your arcs more easily. I don't know that "Devolution" would appear too much in a search, but I would imagine there might be lots of arcs with the word "Crash" in their titles.

Quote:Someone earlier in the thread had spelled ridiculous incorrectly. Apparently it's okay to complain about a player's spelling, but not about a 10-hour delay in posting patch notes by representatives from a major game company who have always had trouble delivering complete patch notes in a timely manner and who have promised in the past to do better.
Now, as for the I and E comment, I have no clue what your talking about, seems someone got your nickers in a twist though. -
That change was supposed to have been in last week's patch. Maybe there was a mix-up and they included it in last week's patch notes by mistake...
-
Quote:Well, they probably want to make sure the patch gets deployed correctly and they don't have to do a rollback before posting the patch notes. Still, a ten-hour delay for such a minor patch probably shouldn't happen.I agree....... the slow response to patch notes is getting a bit rediculous. I would think they would know what the changes are going to be before they do the patch....
When this patch hit the Test Server, the patch notes for it never did get posted, which usually means either an exploit fix (which they won't post patch notes for ahead of time, but usually do after the patch) or some "back end" changes. Was there some exploit that I wasn't aware of with Longbow prison doors? That seems to be the only possible exploit-type thing in this patch. -
I've got the badge, but I'm more likely to take the "prereq" power than I am the actual travel power these days anyway, at least early on. Between Ninja Run and the various jetpacks available, picking a real travel power is something that can wait.
-
This is all true. My account had been inactive for about two weeks when I got an invitation to the Issue 13 closed beta. Not having an active account didn't stop me from getting the invite e-mail, but of course I had to reactivate my account (and then wait about 24 hours for Test Server access to "sync" to my account) in order to actually take part in the closed beta.

Quote:I don't think anyone's answered this yet, but they'd never allow mailing merits to ourselves. Anyone who has the 60-month (not to mention the 72-month) Veteran Reward would have an infinite supply of merits. Create a new character, instantly receive 5 (or 11) Merits, mail them to yourself, delete character, rinse, repeat. Also, why can't we mail merits to ourselves? I have probably a dozen characters with these piddly little piles of merits, useless by themselves but worth a couple of rolls if I could pool them in one spot.
Haven't run the new Posi's yet, but from the times it seems most people are getting the merits do seem a bit low. I'm sure they'll be adjusted up at some point.
